Fabulous result. The floors look brand new yet still fit the character and charm of the house. It was definitely worth the price and my only regret was that I had not had it done sooner! It made a huge difference in selling the house quickly. Highly recommend!

We had never sanded floors before, but had hired professionals a number of times. This time we have a walk-in closet of 27 square feet. We decided that was such a small job for hiring; plus we were interested in trying it ourselves. We phoned a number of places for rental, and Pete's was within the price range (some were actually higher or required a 24 hour rental). Pete's seemed more knowledgeable. Pete's staff gave recommendations over the phone of which type of sander to use, a description of their services, and offered to reserve the smaller unit (orbital) for us. We selected the next day. Randy gave us instructions and hints and instilled confidence that we could do it. His instructions, warnings, and recommendations on grits of sandpaper were right on. The three people working in the store were all cheerful and upbeat.

Needed the entire first floor of the house refinished. They worked with us on price and scheduling. They wrapped it up fast and did a great job.

It was very affordable. They have good customer service. They gave us a quick training when we picked up the equipment. It was right in the store so we could practice. They were very helpful.

After I first left a message to ask for an estimate, it took about a week to get a call back, so you might not want to call these guys if you're in a super hurry. But after that everything went very well. I wasn't sure whether the floor should be re-sanded, but I discussed the options with Bob and he suggested a good cleaning, light sanding, and a chemical treatment to increase the adhesion of the new finish instead. The floor was a kitchen floor and pretty grimy and took about an hour of extra cleaning, but no extra charge. I am very happy with the result, and feel that the price was a great deal considering the hard work that he did and the quality of the job. I would definitely give Bob a call for our next job.

I stopped by the store to inquire about their flooring service and was told someone would call us back. Two weeks later they returned our call, we scheduled an estimate, liked the estimate and scheduled the work. They were very flexible on the date, but they book up so call early. The service was prompt, thorough, and didn't leave dust all over my house. They use low-toxin flooring chemicals so we were able to be in the house later that evening. The final price was close to the original estimate.

Pete's offered a free class to help us learn how to use the equipment and let us know the supplies we'd need. The fellow who trained us was upbeat, supportive, and had a lot of helpful tips. After the class, we had a bit of sticker shop when we learned that the cost of supplies was going to be considerably more expensive than the equipment rental. We spent about $500 for the two bedrooms—about 350 square feet—and only about $120 of that was the equipment. The floor finish was $75 per gallon, and we needed three containers. (They originally estimated two, and I had to return before the last coat because we could see it would run out in the middle of the first room.) Of course, not knowing exactly what we're doing, it made sense to go ahead and get the supplies from Pete's because they told us exactly what we'd need. But if we do this again, we will look into buying some supplies—at least the floor finish—somewhere else to see if we can save some money. All in all, though, a good experience.

I heard about Pete's from a friend and went to check them out knowing which product I wanted and just wanted to know if it would work in my situation. About 20 years ago I sold floor finishes so I know a great deal but the technology is so different that I needed the expertise that Pete's provides. I was not expecting all that I received. They first talked about the product I was interested in. They then made sure that I had accurate information on the other alternatives available to me. The product line and services were extensive. They offered free 4 hour trainings in sanding and application. They have a full line of rental equipment. They carry only the top quality of the various types of material. They were willing to offer a gerneral estimates based on my description so I could decide if I wanted to spend the time to have them come out and provide an actual price. Because I was already somewhat knowledgeable I can assure you that they know the business and products from A-Z. They never used a word like should or might. They underpromised performance of the products to ensure that no one would have an experience that did not live up to both the customers expectations and their commitment to qualtity. The time they spent with me was not restricted. The important thing was that I had all the knowledge that I needed to do what I wanted to do and to choose the system that I decided to use. Absolutely no pressure. I can't say enough nice things about them.

We used Pete's to rent a sander and edger for our hardwood floors in our new house. They were in pretty bad shape. We brought in photos and the guys at Pete's took some time to review with us and give us some tips. We had a lesson and got to practice right in the store. They were available for a call when we weren't sure what level sandpaper to use between buffing, and the process was simple! I would definitely rent from them again in the future.

Outstanding! The floor was a mess - peeling and chipping in places, but too solid for residential sanding tools in other places. I will repaint, but it just wasn't going to look good without removing all the paint. The latex coats weren't bad, but the oil-based layers that date back to 1915 were tough as nails in places. The wood was in good condition for its age, but fir is soft so there was a lot of cupping which makes sanding a challenge. Bob, the owner, returned my calls promptly. He arrived for the estimate and the actual work exactly when he said he would. He did a beautiful job on the floors, removing the paint and sanding the wood flatter than I thought was feasible. Since he knew that I was going to paint, he provided a slightly rougher surface than one would use for indoor floors that one would stain and poly. He "worked clean" so everything was ready for me to start on as soon as he finished. I'm delighted! Oh, and he's a nice fellow, too.

Great! When we ran a bit short on the oil-based finishing, they let me use a little bit out of an already opened can. I can't say enough good things about how much help the team at Pete's was to help me complete my floor refinishing!

PETE'S IS A JOY TO WORK WITH. THEY WERE CONSISTENTLY HAPPY TO GIVE ADVICE AND TEACH ME HOW TO DO THINGS. I MADE USE OF THEIR PRACTICE FLOOR WHERE I LEARNED HOW TO SCRAPE, EDGE AND DRUM SAND. THEY MADE THE JOB MANAGEABLE, AND THE FLOORS TURNED OUT BEAUTIFULLY!

A WONDERFUL STORE AND RESOURCE FOR ANYONE INTERESTED IN REFINISHING FLOORS. THE RENTAL EQUIPMENT WAS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, AND THE STORE HAD EVERYTHING I NEEDED RIGHT THERE. THE BEST PART WAS THE 20 MINUTE DEMO/LESSON, WHICH WAS CONCISE AND GAVE ME ALL THE INFO I NEEDED AS A FIRST TIMER TO DO THE SANDING MYSELF.

I WAS EXTREMELY PLEASED WITH THEIR WORK! A CANCELLATION ALLOWED THEM TO SCHEDULE MY JOB EARLIER THAN EXPECTED. THEY ENCOURAGED ME TO TAKE A CLASS AND LEARN HOW TO MAINTAIN THE FLOORS MYSELF IN THE FUTURE (THEY PROVIDE CLASSES AND RENT EQUIPMENT). VERY PROFESSIONAL, THE FLOORS LOOK FANTASTIC! I WILL DEFINITELY HIRE THEM AGAIN AND RECOMMEND THEM TO EVERYONE I KNOW!
