After three months, the driveway concrete started to break up. I contacted them in the early spring. They came out and looked at the driveway, and said that the concrete batch was wrong and they would replace it. I have attempted to contact him multiple times over the summer. He agreed to come out on 9/25/14 to redo the driveway. Never showed up and will no longer respond to calls. Would not recommend this person at all.

In May I started calling to schedule the work.  Because of his previous commitments, weather issues and city street
maintenance, we finally scheduled the work for June 7.  I later discovered that Greg likes to do his driveway sealing work in the spring or late fall so he can do his core concrete work in the summer months. If I recall correctly, because of some equipment issues, Greg started later than he had hoped and only had time to apply one sealer coat vs. applying one earlier and letting it dry and come back to apply a second coat.  He did tell me he applied a thicker coat in my garage. To finish up the job, he had to hand brush the sealer into the smaller
areas because his spray pump was not working that day.  On June 8, I called Greg for some touch-ups, but he never called back.

Response from Mohscrete Concrete Works Inc
"My pressure washer nozzle had been taken out of my truck I had to go find a replacement and I came back. This cleaning and sealing repair was at cost washed sprayed and rolled. Job went well I thought. Making special trip back an hour each way to take a small paint brush to get sealer into a small seam the size of a soda straw down into a gap between the step and sidewalk is simply not logical in business to give customer value in lower price upfront. I am very reasonable and open to discuss situations and explain a solution. 399$$ material labor equipt ect isabout cost. Value/price"

Great to work with -   Greg had a team that worked on our concrete patio and driveway and they did a wonderful job.    He helped with the design and colors and performed their work on time and professionally.      One of his guys spent a lot of time cleaning up the rough edges after the stamping process -- an artist.   We get compliments on our patio all the time which makes our backyard so much more usable and beautiful.
Two thumbs up for Greg and crew.

Overall it went pretty well.  The job was delayed a couple of weeks however it was well worth the wait.  It took a week total to get our job done. Greg was very detailed in the design process and even did more with the stamping than orginally planned. I would recommend Greg to anyone and have had neighbors stopping by to see who did my driveway.  It looks simply fantastic!  Thank you!

After seeing the Angie's List Big Deal of the day, I called Greg because I had questions before I decided I wanted the work done.  He returned my call promptly that time and answered my questions.  I decided to get the work done, and there were understandable delays because of the rainy weather in May.  After the weather cleared and I heard nothing from Greg, I called again, and after leaving 3 voicemails and one email message over 3-4 days, I finally got a return call.  I was told he would be out on one of two days, depending on the weather.  He did not come either day although it was dry and sunny.  Finally, as I was about to give up on the company and the project, Greg called and said he would be here the next day.  He did come and was very apologetic about his unresponsiveness.  He proceeded to power wash the patio and even did the driveway and parking area next to the garage.  He also applied sealer to the patio.  His work was excellent and we were very pleased with the quality. and the final price, which he reduced because of his tardiness.  If quality of work were the only indicator, we would hire this company again, but it is important to us that a service company return phone calls in a timely manner and keep appointments they have set up.

"My passion is pouring new concrete. Pre-season i had the idea of cleaning/sealing concrete for customers while I waited for my season to kick-off based off time n materials. To do a small project $300. for the customer it would take scheduling several projects on the same loop traveled to make cost lower for her and leave some profit to cover truck pressure washer fuel sealer sprayers rollers non-slip additive ect. spring morning were 50 degrees so washing in AM would not allow time for water to dry in order to apply sealer in same trip. The customer had a schedule to plan around wanting to be at home or would be watching her grandchildren. I exclaimed I just needed water access she wanted to be there so it was difficult to schedule on my part. I didn't require a deposit informing her she could pay after satisfied with outcome if I could loop it into my schedule. She scheduled a party so I took a day to get it done for her before 5 days before deadline ;) This took 1 hour travel each way an hour to wait for washed areas to dry and 2.5 hours to wash seal. almost 6 hours total with fuel, materials, equipt use for $300.00 price discussed based on original conversation. I lost money do to my big idea to be able to do 3 clean n seals a day not working out lol. I am more creative than I am in time management although I met and exceeded my obligations. I did keep communication open during my busiest bidding season for pouring new projects I still got her project done before her party to help her out keeping my word without any contractual obligation. I was working to have it done while I was in her area so it delayed me a bit as well. Mrs. Gomez followed up with me each week as weather warmed then we pulled the trigger and it turned out very very well. Thank you for your input Mavis I will only improve with customer feedback & case by case experiences. Sense of accomplishment and knowing you feel you had a good value from my service is very important to me, Sincerely, Greg Mohs"

The design looks great, and Greg really helped with the stair design which made the whole project really stand out.  Since the work has been completed, I don't think there has been a week that people haven't stopped by and commented on the driveway.  Greg has stayed in touch with us to ensure we have been happy with the work and he will be coming back for future projects!  Thanks

"Gosh thanks for the kind words I absolutely LOVE redoing a driveway. The designing the engineering the most effective ways to get stand out details to pop out maximizing your budget and giving the highest return on investment into your property. A driveway doesn't have to be a parking lot area it can be a courtyard/extension of your homes architectural character. Or as simple as your budget allows. A good plan can get you the most value with out overspending."

The process ran very smooth from the initial estimate and consultation to the finished project.  They were very great in the beginning process of deciding exactly what I wanted done and helping me with all of my options.  The whole project was done much quicker than I expected.  When the actual work began, I found the employees to be very friendly even though they were working very h****** an extremely hot day.  I have already recommended this company to a neighbor, and family member.  I also have had lots of people stopping by admiring how good the new driveways looks.  I will definitely use them again if I ever need some concrete work done. Top notch work!

Greg Mohs knows concrete.  On his first visit, he was able to show samples of his work both electronically and in print.  Of the four contractors who reviewed the job, Greg took the most time explaining how he'd make the repair and at the same time add elegance to our new concrete sidewalk/apron.  Mohscrete had the most competitive of the proposals we received, and offered the most regarding features we could incorporate into the design.

We got our estimate at the time of Greg's visit, gave a committment for the job two days later, got a verbal ballpark date from Greg of beginning the job in 2 weeks, and he was here toward the tail end of that time frame.  On their first day, they tore everything out, repaired the brick, prepared the sidewalk and apron, and cleaned everything up before leaving.  On day 2, concrete was poured, borders were stamped and colored, concrete was sealed, and everything was cleaned up.  The job was finished with the exception of a return visit to again seal the concrete.

We're very happy with our new sidewalk and apron.  Mohscrete and crew were prompt, very courteous, and cleaned up nicely after each day's work.  We've had a number of homes on our street get new driveway aprons in either asphalt or concrete.  However, ours is the first being stamped and colored.  It really makes our home stand out.

Greg and his crew were very professional hard working and they have great passion for going the job right and making the customer happy. They take pride in the finished product. The driveway was done in picture frame sections with borders. The swirling texture was done by hand.  I’m one happy customer and Greg will get all my concrete work should I ever need more. Great Job.

Very well. Greg lay'd out the initial design and we modified and moved things around a little. The colors he ordered and picked out match the house perfect. Sidewalks are a medium brown with a darker brown border. Our next step is saving up so Mohscrete can do our driveways this summer. Highly ,highly recommend. If anyone wants photos, email me and I can send you some. Jeff & Christy Goss.

Everything turned out awesome. Greg did up his design and we couldn't be more pleased. We will enjoy for many years to come.

Greg stopped out to see my project, he explained what he anticipated he would be able to do and gave me a bid which included pricing for design options. I asked Greg if we could delay our project's timing for 5-6 weeks and he was very accommodating. In the mean time, I received several emails from Greg with photos of other projects showing their abilities and design options. Once we scheduled the project's start date we got things rolling. Greg and crew arrived as scheduled, removed the old driveway, graded and prepared forms the first day. We encountered a rain delay but Greg was back the next day bright and early. They prepared the re-bar grid and in came the Cement Trucks! Before I new it the job was completed. A beautiful design, I refer to as picture frames, was incorporated and a sealer was applied. Greg and crew cleaned up after the project, marked the end of the driveway for no entry and explained the curing process and timing. Greg will be back in a month for a second sealer application. I love the new driveway, only the 3rd non-asphalt driveway in the neighborhood! Definitely a huge bump up in home value. Many compliments from neighbors too! A very good experience from start to finish!

I contacted Greg this spring before the road restrictions were out so I knew I could get him. He came out the very next day within about 10 minutes of his scheduled time. I had a pretty good idea of what this project should cost from talking to others and Greg was right there. His passion for concrete and his eye for detail came out during his visit. He is accepting of your ideas and not afraid to share his if needed. I like that he took the time to talk through my project and give me directions on prep work. We wanted to frame the deck first so we were months out and I was worried that we might not get him back as his schedule fills up in the summer - might be hard to get him now that the season started as he is a small 2-3 person company, When I was ready, Greg got to me in a little over a week, showed up on time and with a lot of ideas for colors to share with my wife. I am so glad cause I would have picked out the contrasts backwards from what he suggested and it would have looked bad. It might sound silly but he seems to eye the project as an artist would a blank canvas (in fact, I was joking with the neighbors that I am still looking for his signature on it). He also offered some other advice that I had not considered that for a very modest price increase completely improved the project. He and his co-worker were polite, cleaned up everything afterward, finished in two days, came back the following workday to cut it just as he said he would, and so on. I am very picky and am classic for fussing about things after they are done (whether hired or DYI) but not this time. Serious post purchase satisfaction. Michael Mackeben

Unbelievable second-generation concern for quality and artistry of final product from the first design input and estimates through final execution of the work (e.g. driveway was done in "picture frame" bordered sections employing a "St. Paul swirl" finish inside the borders. Final product looks more like a courtyard than a driveway. First evening after pour, neighbors were gathered at end of driveway ogling the quality of workmanship). No long wait between commissioning of work and start of project. Not just one principal skilled individual with unskilled labor helping, but two skilled principals (Greg Mohs, owner and right hand man Trevor) who take care of the jobs themselves, carefully and deliberately, with one or two skilled assistants. Driveway and patio are located in IGH and are viewable upon request through Mohscrete. I have no financial, friendship, or family ties to any of the parties owning or working for Mohscrete.

Work was high quality, clean, quick, and professional. The project was finished in 2 days. We had expected that steel bolts would be set into the garage slab, but that was not done... which appeared to be a communication misunderstanding. The final price was about $350 more than the quoted price, due to additional concrete that was used for a curved driveway, which was unexpected. Overall, after talking w/ Greg a few times about some issues we had w/ what we were expecting versus what actually was done, we feel it's a wash. Although we feel communication/attention was an issue on a few things, we are happy with the quality of the slab and driveway. After 2 years, no cracks or anything.

I received several estimates for the project, and Mohscrete was in the mid-level range. Greg's professionalism stood apart immediately at the time of the estimate. It became quickly apparent that he has a passion and love for the work that he does. He had pictures of other work that he had done, and provided insight which we hadn't considered before for the project. The work completed was excellent and we are very pleased with the results. I would highly recommend Mohscrete to anyone. They go the extra mile, and you will be pleased with the quality of the work.

Contractor was one of three I spoke with. His bid was in the middle but toward the low end. I asked for and received examples of other customers which I checked. After I contracted the job I made some changes to the design but as they were about to start there was a miscommunication about how the job was to be done. It was resolved without a problem. The work was done within the timeframe promised and the workmanship was good, although clean-up could have been a little better. I would not hesitate to use them again.

The cement work looks wonderful. They were about $2,000 lower than another company that had given me a quote. The cleanup afterwards was absolutely terrible. They ripped out three feet of my garden in my backyard, left trenches alongside the driveway and trenches about six inches wide and two inches deep in the sidewalk. There were stones and cement all over. They put a huge dumpster in my front yard for three or four days. It ruined a big patch of my yard. I had to ask them to repair it. They brought in some dirt and I had to smooth it out myself. That was their idea of repairing it and I expected them to bring in sod or something like that. They didn't repair my garden and I had to hire a landscaper. They were prompt. I'm on a city lot and my house and my neighbor's lots are very close together. They put a little curve in the driveway and it makes it very difficult to drive on it from the street. I don't know why they did that and I discussed it with the owner, but there was no offer of repair. I am totally unhappy with what they did, except that the cement work does look good. If I had to do it over again, I would have gone with the other contractor. I would not use them again and I would not recommend them to anyone.
Response from Mohscrete Concrete Works Inc
"This customer was what I would consider a hoarder. We were asked to remove overflowing cat litter boxes from the entryway of her house. The smell of cat urine and feces were overpowering but we did it. We also had to remove truck loads of garbage from her garage then put it back afterward not included in the contract. Also move an old refrigerator from the garage to the inside of the house were the cat urine and boxes were. the curve in the driveway was looked over and Ok'd by the home owner before we poured. The 30 plus old driveway had sunk below grade with horrible drainage issues so the new one was raised up leaving a 6 inch gap but this is considered minor landscaping. A job as beautiful as we did to get a grade this bad over a gap between the garden and driveway is upsetting. The old driveway had sunk under the garden so when removed and raised there was no way around it. The home owner also had us bring loads of dirt to each of her neighbors and do some grading for them she said she would pay for then did not. The homeowner then tried to get me to include landscaping and put together some things in her garage for free and told me if I wanted a good grade on Angie's List I would. I refused to do MORE work for FREE that we already did. We included a sweat finish picture frame style for free, We added a back step and walkway for free, We removed her front walk and replaced it for $800 time and materials at cost. She had old concrete window wells we repaired and replaced one of them she did not pay for. The work we did is beautiful and even she says so in her report. This was a large old driveway to remove being as thick as 8 inches in some spots considered a hidden defect and she did not pay any extra. The price stayed exactly the same as quoted with thousands of $$ worth of work done that was not charged and some she refused to pay after agreeing to. This customer got a beautiful job that is worth thousands more than she paid. Some very minor lawn damage is expected. We offer a punch list to go over before we are paid. We did this job months ago and I am blown away at the grade she gave. She asked to be scheduled 1.5 months out for her roof to be done first a week later she called and said the roof was already done and demanded we start right away. I shuffled the schedule around to make this work for her and did it. Please Please Please consider getting a bid from Mohscrete Concrete Works we love what we do and after this report I am more determined than ever to prove it. We are very friendly and easy to work with and will go that extra mile to ensure the highest quality. Do not pay until your satisfied and you will be satisfied I promise! Thank you for considering Mohscrete Concrete Works."

Greg came to give us an estimate within a few days of being called. He was about 30 minutes late, but called to say he was in traffic. He had some great ideas for our driveway and his pricing was competitive. We wanted to confirm the design of the driveway before signing and he was happy to come back to do that, he made a great suggestion on how to use colored, stamped concrete to segue from the street where it is narrow to our garage, which is wider. He also did a technique called picture framing and put a seam up the middle as we requested. He charged us for the extra labor the framing cost, but threw in the color concrete and stamping. Which we felt was fair, but the quoted price went up from the first visit to the second. All reasonable items, but he seemed to rethink his original price which wasn't too comfortable. The crew was fast and on time. They finished when they said they would and did an OK job cleaning up (they left some dripped concrete on our front walk and crushed a plant with a paver they had to dig up to make room for the framing (which they could have avoided by just being thoughtful). About a week after they were done, it rained and we noticed a part of the drive was slow to drain. I called and he came over that day and tested it. The next day he came back and fixed it. I was pleased with his response, but wished it drained properly the first time so I didn't have to call. Greg finished it off by pressure washing and sealing the concrete. All in all, we were pleased with the work and we love our beautiful new driveway.

Mohs Crete completed our three stall driveway with a stamped concrete wave, stamped concrete sidewalk and front stoop in May. We knew we wanted our back patio redone and waited until August 2009 to get it redone. Called Mohs Crete and asked him to put us on his job list for the backyard. He came out within a week of the date we needed him. They did an excellent job. The men who came to our job removed all of our patio furniture (heavy stuff) and removed the patio and prepped it for the pouring to be done the next day. When they returned the next day, we had outlined the patio to an even bigger patio. Excellent to work with to make this backyard looking good. Our backyard with the stamped concrete looks like it should be on HGTV.

Greg poured a beautiful free form patio using a combination of textured and stamped concrete in contrasting colors. Greg knows his product well and designed a work of art based on a rough guideline we gave him. He was respectful of our property and time and truly delivered quality product and customer service. We had some tired-looking existing stamped concrete on our property and Greg refinished it to nearly like new finish. He also poured a fire pit. We are enjoying all additions to the property and I believe it has dramatically enhanced the curb appeal of our house. I'd definitely recommend Mohscrete to friends and use them again if we need additional concrete work done. The project took about two days start to finish. Greg sometimes took a day or two to respond to phone calls, which is the reason for the B in responsiveness.
