maintenance, we finally scheduled the work for June 7. I later discovered that Greg likes to do his driveway sealing work in the spring or late fall so he can do his core concrete work in the summer months. If I recall correctly, because of some equipment issues, Greg started later than he had hoped and only had time to apply one sealer coat vs. applying one earlier and letting it dry and come back to apply a second coat. He did tell me he applied a thicker coat in my garage. To finish up the job, he had to hand brush the sealer into the smaller
areas because his spray pump was not working that day. On June 8, I called Greg for some touch-ups, but he never called back.
"My pressure washer nozzle had been taken out of my truck I had to go find a replacement and I came back. This cleaning and sealing repair was at cost washed sprayed and rolled. Job went well I thought. Making special trip back an hour each way to take a small paint brush to get sealer into a small seam the size of a soda straw down into a gap between the step and sidewalk is simply not logical in business to give customer value in lower price upfront. I am very reasonable and open to discuss situations and explain a solution. 399$$ material labor equipt ect isabout cost. Value/price"
Two thumbs up for Greg and crew.
"My passion is pouring new concrete. Pre-season i had the idea of cleaning/sealing concrete for customers while I waited for my season to kick-off based off time n materials. To do a small project $300. for the customer it would take scheduling several projects on the same loop traveled to make cost lower for her and leave some profit to cover truck pressure washer fuel sealer sprayers rollers non-slip additive ect. spring morning were 50 degrees so washing in AM would not allow time for water to dry in order to apply sealer in same trip. The customer had a schedule to plan around wanting to be at home or would be watching her grandchildren. I exclaimed I just needed water access she wanted to be there so it was difficult to schedule on my part. I didn't require a deposit informing her she could pay after satisfied with outcome if I could loop it into my schedule. She scheduled a party so I took a day to get it done for her before 5 days before deadline ;) This took 1 hour travel each way an hour to wait for washed areas to dry and 2.5 hours to wash seal. almost 6 hours total with fuel, materials, equipt use for $300.00 price discussed based on original conversation. I lost money do to my big idea to be able to do 3 clean n seals a day not working out lol. I am more creative than I am in time management although I met and exceeded my obligations. I did keep communication open during my busiest bidding season for pouring new projects I still got her project done before her party to help her out keeping my word without any contractual obligation. I was working to have it done while I was in her area so it delayed me a bit as well. Mrs. Gomez followed up with me each week as weather warmed then we pulled the trigger and it turned out very very well. Thank you for your input Mavis I will only improve with customer feedback & case by case experiences. Sense of accomplishment and knowing you feel you had a good value from my service is very important to me, Sincerely, Greg Mohs"
"Gosh thanks for the kind words I absolutely LOVE redoing a driveway. The designing the engineering the most effective ways to get stand out details to pop out maximizing your budget and giving the highest return on investment into your property. A driveway doesn't have to be a parking lot area it can be a courtyard/extension of your homes architectural character. Or as simple as your budget allows. A good plan can get you the most value with out overspending."
We got our estimate at the time of Greg's visit, gave a committment for the job two days later, got a verbal ballpark date from Greg of beginning the job in 2 weeks, and he was here toward the tail end of that time frame. On their first day, they tore everything out, repaired the brick, prepared the sidewalk and apron, and cleaned everything up before leaving. On day 2, concrete was poured, borders were stamped and colored, concrete was sealed, and everything was cleaned up. The job was finished with the exception of a return visit to again seal the concrete.
We're very happy with our new sidewalk and apron. Mohscrete and crew were prompt, very courteous, and cleaned up nicely after each day's work. We've had a number of homes on our street get new driveway aprons in either asphalt or concrete. However, ours is the first being stamped and colored. It really makes our home stand out.
Everything turned out awesome. Greg did up his design and we couldn't be more pleased. We will enjoy for many years to come.
"This customer was what I would consider a hoarder. We were asked to remove overflowing cat litter boxes from the entryway of her house. The smell of cat urine and feces were overpowering but we did it. We also had to remove truck loads of garbage from her garage then put it back afterward not included in the contract. Also move an old refrigerator from the garage to the inside of the house were the cat urine and boxes were. the curve in the driveway was looked over and Ok'd by the home owner before we poured. The 30 plus old driveway had sunk below grade with horrible drainage issues so the new one was raised up leaving a 6 inch gap but this is considered minor landscaping. A job as beautiful as we did to get a grade this bad over a gap between the garden and driveway is upsetting. The old driveway had sunk under the garden so when removed and raised there was no way around it. The home owner also had us bring loads of dirt to each of her neighbors and do some grading for them she said she would pay for then did not. The homeowner then tried to get me to include landscaping and put together some things in her garage for free and told me if I wanted a good grade on Angie's List I would. I refused to do MORE work for FREE that we already did. We included a sweat finish picture frame style for free, We added a back step and walkway for free, We removed her front walk and replaced it for $800 time and materials at cost. She had old concrete window wells we repaired and replaced one of them she did not pay for. The work we did is beautiful and even she says so in her report. This was a large old driveway to remove being as thick as 8 inches in some spots considered a hidden defect and she did not pay any extra. The price stayed exactly the same as quoted with thousands of $$ worth of work done that was not charged and some she refused to pay after agreeing to. This customer got a beautiful job that is worth thousands more than she paid. Some very minor lawn damage is expected. We offer a punch list to go over before we are paid. We did this job months ago and I am blown away at the grade she gave. She asked to be scheduled 1.5 months out for her roof to be done first a week later she called and said the roof was already done and demanded we start right away. I shuffled the schedule around to make this work for her and did it. Please Please Please consider getting a bid from Mohscrete Concrete Works we love what we do and after this report I am more determined than ever to prove it. We are very friendly and easy to work with and will go that extra mile to ensure the highest quality. Do not pay until your satisfied and you will be satisfied I promise! Thank you for considering Mohscrete Concrete Works."
