Thomas is my favorite inspector. I was impressed with his professionalism and thoroughness on a rental house I was living in that sold 3 years ago, even though I was just the tenant. He was the buyers inspector. I tracked him down this year when it was time for my husband and I to buy a house. I was not disappointed. He not only came on short notice to Champlin for our first inspection...and after a car accident no less. Then he came back to help us decide if we wanted to run away when the house was flooding in the big spring rains we had! And he did it for free. When we decided to walk away and found a different house we hired him back to do another inspection and again we were very happy. He even gives a USB drive at the inspection with the report and photos. I love that no question is dumb to him. He thinks before he speaks and is super polite. And his son as well. He is very knowledgeable and tells his customers to call or email after the inspection if something comes up and we have questions. We also love that he walks through and shows what he found I. The inspection and doesn't rush. We would recommend him to anyone we know.

Very well. Thomas Stone was our inspector on 2 different homes. He saved us approx. 7000.00 out of pocket expenses on a badly constructed deck. The second house was perfect. Thanks to Thomas for all he did!

Mr. Stone was very thorough in conducting his inspections, knowledgeable and able to share the results of his findings in a manner that was easy for us to understand. Mr. Stone was very professional in conducting his business and conscientious of our time as he conducted most of his inspection prior to our arrival at the property. He conducted a concise tour with us identifying items of importance and those that need reoccurring maintenance. Mr. Stone was even helpful several months after the inspection were conducted in answering questions we had regarding one of the home systems that we had questions regarding the operation.

It went well. Ive been using MRI as my inspector of choice for a long time and they are.consistently reliable. Always punctual, professional, knowledgeable, courteous. As a realtor representing people in perhaps the biggest transaction of their lives, it is vitally important to me that my clients be protected and well served. I'm pleased to recommend MRI, without hesitation.

Thomas virtually completed his inspection by the time we got there he appeared thorough and knowledgable and maybe he is but I did not get that impression. he walked me trough the house when he was done and pointed things out but he missed some stuff. I the ink he could have done a much better job. I had someone else in mind but I selected Thomas on the advice of my realtor something I vowed to not do but did anyway. As a home buyer one should do there home work first and select an inspector not just on the recommendation of their agent, I failed to do that so my rating of C is partially my fault I failed to to do the groundwork first. somehow I think Thomas was distracted and I don't feel that I got the full benefit from his services that should have
Response from Minnesota Residential Inspections
"I am very sorry if I appeared distracted. I give my very best in all my work. I did provide 65 photos and 17 pages of notes on your home which I focus on and compile in the 2 hours before you arrive. Sometimes things do get missed or I am having an off day. I am not perfect. Then again some things fall outside the scope of my inspection or standards of practice that you may have expected to be included. I am more than happy to discuss any of these items with you."

We feel this inspection went very well. Thomas, our inspector, completed his inspection of the home prior to our arrival and then did a walking tour of the home through his eyes, giving us details of issues he saw throughout the home. We appreciated this approach as we had a home inspection a couple years ago where we walked through the house with the inspector without his having seen the house first. I think we ended up distracting the inspector on this prior inspection with all our questions. This led to him missing a needed repair to the roof that cost us $7,000. I felt Thomas had time to focus on his own method of home review prior to our appointment with him.

Thomas was easy to work with and we were able to set up our appointment on a Saturday for the next Monday. He took an incredible number of pictures. He also took a second look at all the items we had questions about. He, of course, printed and emailed a report for us in the end as well as created a CD of all the pictures he'd taken of the house.
Response from Minnesota Residential Inspections
"Thank you. The walk-through is used to educate my buyers and to double-check my work to make sure I have caught as much as I can in the time allowed. There is much to investigate and consider when performing an inspection. I greatly appreciate the opportunity to help you in this portion of your home purchase."
