The team was professional and quick. Resurfaced in one day and finished the trim the next day.

First off, I live an old St. Paul house built in 1919 where nothing is perpendicular or parallel to each other. I had a couple contractors no-quote or high-quote because it appeared to be a difficult job, especially because the door was lower than the ideal height of 6". For Miesen Roofing, this is what they do and they were not at all intimidated by the job. They are able to adapt their technique to the nuances of each house because each house different. Karl met with me at my house to review the scope of the work and provided a quote the same day. There were delays in performing the work only due to weather but Karl kept me informed along the way. Finally the weather cleared and Karl and his crew of 5 completed the job in one day!! The worksite was very clean after they were done. After work was completed, I was unhappy that they had reused the original metal to cover the walls. The metal was still in good shape; however, it just didn't look "finished" because it was a different shade of white than the new metal. I notified Karl and he came out to cover the walls with new metal within a couple days. I had thought that this was part of the original contract, but he clarified that it was not. Due to the miscommunication, Karl performed the work at a discounted price and we were both happy. Karl is a gentleman and a pleasure to work with. I would not hesitate to use Miesen Roofing again! Note: I would recommend vacating the premises while work is being performed because the fumes from the adhesives were very strong inside my house even though the work was performed outside. There's nothing they could have done to prevent this, just be aware.

Mark and company came out to determine what the issue was. He was able to determine that the entire flat roof wasn't in poor shape, just a few seams from the work done 20(ish) years ago. And that was a good thing - as a complete redo of the flat roof would have involved taking off a whole door jam. He suggested that instead he repair the seams, and the joints where the roof membrane meets the railing posts. I agreed. The day after he and his crew completed the work we had yet another torrential downpour. I waited and watched from the kitchen to see what would happen: completely dry! I was so very excited to call Mark the next day and let him know that their repair worked! Now, if we'd just stop getting torrential downpours.....

Although Mieson Roofing initally told me they would send in a repair man within three days to take a look at my leaking roof, after having informed them that there was rain in the forecast for the day, they made it a priority to send someone out on the same day. I was extremely thankful for not only their ability to accomodate my request into their busy schedule, but also for their efficiency at the task at hand--they quickly identified the problem and fixed my leaking roof, preventing any further problems with my ceiling.

It went really good. Very professional. The whole process went well. Communication was awesome. They came out and had someone come over to remove ice and snow. Then they came back to do the roofing work at no extra charge. They emailed me with pictures explaining what they did and they gave me a 10-year labor warranty.

I learned my lesson--12 years ago I had the rubber membrane and railing replaced on the flat roof over the mudroom.  The contractors I used back then were cheap, and they did a terrible job. It was on the verge of failure.  Miesen came in and replaced it.  They do excellent work.  Mr. Miesen took the time to explain exactly what they would do, and they did it.  They're not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Miesen's process of locating and fixing the leak in my roof went better than I could ever have hoped for.  I had already had 2 other highly rated Angie's List roofers take a look at the problem but neither provided any specific recommendation on how to approach finding this tricky leak and only made general statements about the condition of the rubber on my flat roof and some of the flashing along roof lines.  In sharp contrast, the Miesen brothers immediately said that before I should invest in any re-roofing, the leak should be located, and they explained exactly how they would do that.    Over the years, I had done all the things one would expect to do for a roof leak, new roofing for flat and pitched parts of the roof, new gutters, new door to the flat roof, new stucco etc.   Nothing had stopped the leak.  The Miesens fit my project into their already busy schedule to perform "flood testing" on the areas of my roof and exterior walls that could be the source of the leak.  The results did show a place where the rain was very likely coming in.  A few days later they returned with material to deal with the problem area around an exterior door on the second story.  In the next rain, some water still came in.  Miesens returned in a couple of days for the next round of flood testing and found an additional area that was likely to be the source of the leak.  Again, they came back in a couple of days to make the final fix.  Since then, despite 3 heavy rains, the roof has not leaked.  I could not be any happier with this work.  Throughout the process, I met all 3 brothers, Karl, Mark and Eric.  They worked together smoothly and took the time to explain their process to me.  I ended up learning alot.  Although the fix did not require new roofing, when I do need a new roof, there is no question that I would have Miesen Roofing do the job.  These guys really know what they are doing.  They were responsive and even followed up with a phone call after a heavy rain to find out if there was leaking.  I knew that they would stick with the job until my problem was solved.  I feel fortunate to have found this company because I needed consultants, and I don't believe that most roofers can fairly categorize themselves that way.  Thank you Miesen brothers!

The Miesen brothers and Osmos were the best!
They solved all our leaking problems in two days of hard work.  The tear off was neat and clean; they took great care around my Wife's flowers and our lawn.
The new "roofing" involved flashing, underlayment, edging, sealing,  all corrected many old incorrect applications that were the source of leaks.
I can't tell you how nice it is to have a roof that won't leak….knowing it was done "Right"!!
Their price was very fair,  they used heavier material than others bid , and the OWNERS (the brothers) of the company did the entire job.
They were on time, very skilled, and their thirty years of experience  was reassuring to say the least.

I called Eric @ July 30th based on a good reference I had received on Miesen Roofing from an old co-worker.  He returned my call that same day. I explained the damage and a little extra work I wanted done and the next day I e-mailed him photos of the roof pin pointing the areas to work on.  Also I sent him a copy of my insurance adjusters estimate.  I let him know that my driveway was being sealed the next week and access to the garage would be difficult so I wasn't in a hurry to get the work done.   He said he would probably just fit my job in between other work in my area which was perfectly acceptable to me.  I think we talked one more time after the driveway was sealed and to my surprise Eric showed up on Aug. 12th and did my repairs at a cost that was less than my insurance estimate.  I couldn't be happier with all aspects of the job.  Eric is a fantastic guy to work with.  He is extremely knowledgeable about flat roofs and someone you can count on to do a great job for you.

The work was initially supposed to happen in February but due to snow
storms it kept getting delayed.  We'd get almost weekly calls with
updates.  I've never had a contractor call me proactively like that. 
They cleaned up the work site and provided great suggestions for the

Miesen was the highest of the two bids that we got, but it was clear that they knew exactly what they were doing. They did a great job!

The harder you work the luckier you get. I manage a 12 unit apartment building which needed a new flat roof. It was my job to get the best value for the investment. My hard work involved talking with two other contractors and doing independent research regarding EPDM. As a result of not being satisfied with the information or the competing quotes, I needed to talk to someone else. Luckily I had a business colleague refer me to Miesen Roofing. The reason I selected this company was due to the fact that Eric confirmed what I already knew and (correctly) contradicted the mis-information (my contractor
language would use a more colorful term, but would be inappropriate here) I had gotten from one of the other bidders. Eric proposed using Firestone EPDM which I had independently verified as one of, if not THE, best manufacturers of quality
products on the market. This product comes with a 20 year manufacturer’s warranty. What was the mis-information? One contractor insisted that all of the flashing needed to be thrown away and installed new (10% of job cost). There
are other examples of why it was a no-brainer to select Miesen Roofing, but you get the picture.  The same quality and
attention to detail occurred during the job. The following is just one instance of several that I could mention; the parking lot needed for his crane was brand new asphalt. As a result there was considerable concern about damage to the lot  during the project. Miesen and their sub-contractors did a great job protecting the surface during the use of the crane as well as rock removal and replacement. This was not a normal part of the typical project and they handled this change smoothly and easily. I believe that people that give the job to the low bidder are incredibly foolish. Meisen roofing was competitive in price and combined with the above, the best long-term value by far. I believe the way to maintain a long-term asset like real estate is on quality. Meisen Roofing specializes in roofing flat roofs.  If you need to have a flat roof roofed, I recommend that you employ a roofing contractor that specializes in flat roofs.  Meisen Roofing tore off my existing flat roof, which had started to leak. They removed my gutters carefully so they could reuse them.  Meisen Roofing consists of three, experienced brothers, Erik, Mark and Karl.  All three worked on my project.  The materials they use and their experienced installation results in a durable and effective membrane for keeping water out of your house.  Their installation includes an under lament that creates a low pitch to the roof on three sides so that water travels to the gutters.  The Meisen brothers are also experts in installing gutters so they actually work.  If you want an effective flat roof system, I recommend Meisen Roofing.   The Meisen bothers are careful, experienced workmen.  They respect your house and the plantings around your house. They guarantee their work for 10 years. My previous flat roofing job cost only half as much, but was poorly done and failed in less than 5 years.

Miesen did a fantastic job with our flat roof.  The pricing was fair, and it felt like we got a lot for what we paid. Our previous roof had leaked substantially, resulting in significant water damage in our garage.  Miesen ripped up anything that was rotted, and repaired or replaced.  The new membrane roof is thicker and completely watertight, as we've made it through winter and spring without any sign of water getting into the garage. The flashing, new drain and downspout not only function well, but it all matches the house and looks like it was meant to be that way. Miesen also offered suggestions for how to install a deck without damaging the roof.  They were very helpful and able to provide any information we needed.

The Miesen brothers were very nice and professional. I had been having nothing but problems with my leaky flat porch roof, and was grateful to be able to depend on their expertise with flat roofs. They quoted the job in February and honored their quote when I was ready to go ahead with the job in July. The job went without a hitch.

The company is run by three brothers. They spent a lot of time explaining the process and making sure I understood what was going on. THEY WERE UNFAILINGLY PLEASANT, PUNCTUAL, KNOWLEDGEABLE,AND PROFESSIONAL. I HAVE RARELY HAD SUCH A GOOD EXPERIENCE WITH CONTRACTORS. THESE GUYS ARE GREAT.

THEY WERE QUICK IN RESPONDING TO PHONE CALLS AND DID THE WORK ON SCHEDULE. THE WORK WAS DONE A FEW MONTHS AGO AND IS HOLDING UP WELL (NO LEAKS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MANY YEARS). I THINK THEY REALLY FIXED THE ROOF WHERE SEVERAL OTHER REPAIR PEOPLE FAILED.
