MACDONALD MONTESSORI SCHOOL

"Macdonald Montessori School responded immediately to this incident. Both sets of parents were contacted within the hour. The parent who filed this complaint was already on their way to the school to pick up their infant. Our educational coordinator followed the protocol outlined in our health resource book - Infectious Disease in Child Care Settings and Schools. Our nurse consultant from the University of Minnesota advised us within hours of the incident. The other parent's doctor within 2 hours faxed the 2007 negative blood reports to the complainant. In addition, this parent took an additional blood test two weeks ago and received another test result of negative, today March 17, 2008. Macdonald Montessori School is reimbursing the parent for all costs incurred in this procedure. Macdonald Montessori School self-reported this incident with the Department of Human Services - Child Care Licensing and have been working with our licensor to review all procedures to make sure this doesn't happen in the future. Every child has a crib and infants are held, fed, talked to, cuddled, played with. They spend time in laps, on the floor, in swings, infant seats, bouncy chairs, crawling interaction with materials and teachers and each other. I am extremely proud of our teachers, who are loving, caring, interactive and responsive to every child in their care. We have a 22 year history of families who are pleased and inspired by the dedication of our teachers and the quality of our care."
