We are very pleased with the outcome. Neil was very good in answering questions and communicating the differences in the furnaces. Everyone showed up for the scheduled appointments on time and the work was completed in a timely manner. They also submitted all the applications for rebates from the utility companies on our behalf.

The service went really well. Very professional and on time.

Early on a very cold Monday morning, I called Lofgren Heating & Air Conditioning. The phone was answered promptly and pleasantly. When I described the problem, I was told that they were "swamped." (This was a realistic expectation considering the sub-zero temperatures and long weekend.) However, I was asked if we had any heat. I told him what I was able to do to keep the house reasonably warm. I was then asked for my information and told that the scheduler would call later and that it was likely that they would be able to provide service the following day. As promised, the scheduler called me later in the day and as expected, a three-hour service window was set for the following day. I was told that I would get a call 1/2 hour before arrival within that window. Early in that window, I got the promised call. The technician arrived in a timely manner in a truck that was clearly marked. He greeted me (and my dog) kindly. He listened to my description. (My description included what I had done to attempt repair.) He then opened my furnace, explained to me, without condescension, what I had done wrong and proceeded to show my how to do this myself in the future and recommended that I do so annually.  While he had the furnace open, he looked for other common problems and told me that the furnace looked clean. No other problems were found. He read the serial number and told me the year it was manufactured which I did not previously know. We discussed options for installing a higher efficiency furnace and he pointed out some structural points of my house that would make it costly to do so. In the end, he was done so quickly that he volunteered to reduce the price by approximately one-third.

While performing the A/C tune-up the pressure was not correct. During trouble shooting they discovered the dip switches on the control panel not set correctly from the original installation(they did not install unit). This caused the pressures to to be too high and too low. They set it correctly and left with it running better than ever.
I highly recommend Lofgren based on their experience and knowledge.

Chad was friendly but professional and arrived as arranged. He diagnosed the problem and fixed it in about an hour. I would use this service again if needed.

After evaluating nearly a dozen different companies and proposals we purchased a new Carrier Heat Pump and Variable Speed Furnace through Lofgren. Neil was a fantastic sales guy to work with. Throughout he was extremely patient with all of my questions and concerns.
While our system install was not overly complex or custom we did have a few very specific control requirements around automated thermostats and zoning. From the start Neil listened to our requests and ensured to check all of his technical facts.
Joe, Lofgren’s installer, was also very attentive to detail and ensured the work was installed clean and orderly manner. Joe and his assistant (Steve?) showed on time, were polite, and very efficient. Joe also took the time to explain details of how to operate the system and also how to adjust and fine tune several of the details he knew I was interested in.
After install Neil followed up via email regarding our energy rebates which Lofgren has submitted for us. He also checked to ensure the city permit fully closed out, which it was without any questions.
A few days after our install I called the main office wanting to put in a good word for both Joe and Neil. In a few minutes of talking with the owner Scott it was clear that positive interactions and fair treatment of customers are a foundation block for his company. I will be recommending Lofgren Healing and AC of Apple Valley to my family and friends.

I had a great experience working with Neil and the others from Lofgren. Over the course of a month, I evaluated 6 different companies for my furnace and AC replacement project. My current system wasn't broken, just over 25 years old, so I had time. From the initial quotes, I narrowed it down to 2 companies based on price and the feeling I got from their sales person. Lofgren wasn't the cheapest initially, but when I called Neil to ask if they would meet or beat the other company, he quickly returned my call and emailed me an updated estimate that was cheaper. After that experience, I ended my search and chose Lofgren.
The installation went as scheduled, and was completed in one day. There was very little clean up I needed to do. Lofgren filled out all the rebate forms for me (side note: I actually received the rebates before my first bill was due -- a nice perk during the holiday spending season).
I would definitely chose them again.

We decided to replace our 29 yr old system before it failed us during a heating/cooling season when prices would be higher. We asked for three estimates from Pronto, Snelling and Lofgren (choose Lofgren because two of my neighbors used them in the last couple of yrs for whole system replacements and were happy with their experience).

All the systems we looked at were top of the line and we knew equipment-wise they were marginally about same (and Bryant=Carrier) so the bottom line for us was cost and reputation of installers. All three business/installers we looked at we felt would do a good job so it really came down to bottom line cost, the heat pump functionality and the know neighbors positive experience with Lofgren.

We had Neil Chell from Lofgren out on Friday afternoon as our final estimate, made our choice Saturday morning and the work was done in about 6 hrs on Tuesday. There was two installers and they did a great job on both the furnace install and the heat pump install...very professional, courteous and mindful of not disturbing things around the house.

The prices were good and the workmanship was good.

I was pleasantly surprised to start with when this company's salesman offered to come and give me the estimate in the early morning hours (before his work day had begun) to meet my schedule. Neil gave me his recommendation, answered all my questions, and was able to give me some advice about HVAC systems that actually saved me money - I was impressed by his honesty. After receiving the written estimate, I scheduled the installation about 1 week later. The installer was very professional, neat, and worked non-stop. The entire job took about 7 hours, due to the unusual setup of my town home's utility closet making for pretty tight working conditions. But everything went smoothly, and Neil stopped in to see how it was coming along and check that it was as I had anticipated. He advised that the electrician would call me directly to schedule a time to do the finishing work, and the electrician did, in fact, call me the very next morning, as did Neil to keep me informed. The electrician was able to stop by very early the following morning and finish the electrical work within about 1 hour's time. He was very friendly and knowledgeable, and answered some questions about unrelated electrical issues very positively. The overall experience was very good -- better than I had been prepared for!

The install went better than expected. The team did a very professional job removing the old furnace and AC and installing the new unit. The routed the vents where I specified, and did a very good job of explaining the option of the unit. They also took care of getting an electrician to install a second meter for the heat pump (in Dakota County you get a price break on electricity for a heat pump). It was one of the best mechanical installations I've had performed and we really like the Carrier equipment. Neil (our salesperson) also checked in with us the day of the install to make sure everything was going well. It did!

I called and had some questions re: my heat pump from an issue that happened last winter (trying to be proactive). When talking to Neil he told me to schedule a "furnance check and clean" which would be cheaper than coming out and doing a heat pump check alone (and he said they'd check the pump for me when they were there.) I was very pleased with his honesty and with the fact he was trying to save me a buck! The service man was on time, very kind and taught me a lot of stuff about my system. Would use again in a second!

Another company told me I needed to replace my coil at $1000. The tech from Lofgren showed up, inspected the coil and told me that I really didn't need a coil, just some cleaning and alignment (for proper drainage). He removed the entire coil and was very professional. You can't buy honesty and service like this anymore. Outstanding.

Tom Coolidge came out and checked over our failing AC unit - he was polite and professional, and gave me an honest appraisal of the condition the AC unit was in and what repairs would be needed. He did not try to sell me a new unit. He was also kind enough to check a couple other small things I had not mentioned when I made the appointment for service on the phone. I was so impressed by the service department that I did not go with the lowest quote (we compared prices at 3 different companies) when it came time to purchase a new unit - we chose to go back to Lofgren.
