Lock Squad

After having the locks re-keyed on my rental property, I couldn't open the deadbolt lock the next morning.  The original locksmith refused to fix the problem until after his shop had closed.  As the tenants were en route, I had to get the door open right away.  I called Lock Squad and they were out within a half hour.  He opened the door, and found that the previous locksmith had made a mistake when re-installing the lock which stopped the deadbolt from opening.  Lock Squad was able to fix the problem right away.

My daughter's purse was stolen which included house keys and license with our home address. Needless to say, we were concerned someone might decided to invite themselves in our house while we were gone. I used Angie's List to locate "A" rated firms within 5 miles of our home. After calling two of them I found that Lock Squad was a tad cheaper, but could come out several hours sooner, thus I hired them. The gentleman showed up on time, was professional, explained the process, and got right to work. He was efficient and I proceeded to pay him for his time and prepare to return to work. When locking up the house I noticed that his van listed a different firm "Lock Technology" and thought, humm .... Angie's List did not state that they used sub-contractors. I continued to prepare to leave and while locking up I noticed that one of the door handles seemed much looser than prior to the work. I called Lock Squad and was told to call the repair man directly. He returned looked at it and stated he did not cause the issue and explained to me how he could not have. He even called the owner of Lock Squad to have him reiterate how it was impossible for them to have caused the issue. As a home owner I felt I was really out of options. What could I realistically do? The repair man was extremely courtous and offered to talk me through the replacement of the handle if I went to buy one, :(

I use Angie's List constantly and just found myself feeling fooled and foolish. I trust that the company I hire will be the company that comes! If subs are used I almost always seek a different company due to prior bad experiences and shifting of blame / responsibility. Oh well, I learned a lesson and will pay a bit more and wait a bit longer the next time to get what is advertised.

Over the numerous times we have used this service, Eddie has always been very courteous, very prompt, and very willing to go the extra mile in service with no extra charge. The two most noteworthy times for the extra service were when the battery had died on our sons Jeep Cherokee and so automatic door lock did not work. Eddie not only unlocked the car (in very cold weather ) but he also got out his jumper cables and jumped our sons car at no extra charge. Another noteworthy experience was when my husband and I had a flat tire, only to find out that the spare tire on Ford Ranger's is locked in place. The key to that was no longer with us. Eddie not only promptly unlocked the spare from under the truck but he also changed the tire for us ( it was over 90 degrees outside and my husband had a suit on). He did not charge us for the tire change but we offered a tip for the extra servce which was performed so cheerfully.
