"Thank You Chantal! We appreciate the positive review. And we thank you for your business. Please tell your friends about us! Lol We wouldn't be here without you! Since we started the business in 2004, customers just like you have been keeping us busy. Thank You!"
"Wow [Member Name Removed]! What a stellar review! Thank You for taking the time to put it all together... Glad you liked our workers, Carey and Rick have been with us for years, they always do a good job. We want you to know that we appreciate your business! And we thank you for the generous tip you gave the workers. If you there is someone you don't like, who is moving - give them our number! Lol. I know humor isn't always my strong suit..."
"Thank You [Member Name Removed]! Glad the workers came through for you, and super glad we were able to accommodate your moving dates. We appreciate your business and Thank You also for your personal review!"
"Thank You [Member Name Removed], we appreciate your business. Glad we could help your friend get things sorted out in her garage, and help you in the process!"
"We showed up at 8:30 an hour earlier than originally scheduled, with 3 guys instead of 2, so as to accommodate her request to get the job done quicker. When we got there I talked to her about the option to have 3 workers, and mentioned to her that the third worker would be $45 more per hour. Her response: "That's perfect, yes three workers will be fine." Her comments in her review have nothing to do with the events as they actually transpired. She is exaggerating and manipulating the facts. She watched us pack for 3 hours never once mentioning to us that she preferred to have the boxes taped shut. We have been folding the boxes in on themselves, to close them for the past 16 years. Same with our use of newsprint. She watched us use newspapers to pack up her dishes for hours and never said a thing to us. The bottom line is that we got her moved in a timely manner and everything was moved safely and with care. I admit I found her difficult to deal with, someone who was a poor communicator, who seemed to expect us to read her mind. Being in the military I guess she had certain expectations. But she never imparted those details to us. I feel she is one of those customers who delights in being a bully, and that she has issues that have nothing to do with Lighthouse Moving. She has left reviews all over town trying to destroy our business. I've had a few customers like her over the years, but only a few thank goodness! Our 240 customers a year understand that we strive to bring you an honest and solid moving company. And we will continue to do just that in the coming years!"
"Thank You [Member Name Removed]! We appreciate your business, and it was great discussing the problems of the world with you as well. We'll stay in touch and see what shakes out in this crazy world of ours. John Hathaway"
"Thank You [Member Name Removed]! We appreciate your business! John"
"Thank You for the great review! Glad we came through for you. John"
"I'm very glad that we won't have to move you again, but not from any selfish perspective! But rather because I'm happy that you have now purchased your very own home! And you can dispense with the need to call any movers for a very long time. Congratulations, on your new abode, and if you ever do need us, we'll be out here braving wind, rain, and snow for our customers!"
"Thank You [Member Name Removed]! Its customers like you who make being in business a rewarding and fulfilling endeavor. Truly: you took the time to write your review and you were fair and honest in it - we here at Lighthouse Moving truly Thank You!!"
"This is just about the most ridiculous ignorant review I've ever had to respond to!! I find it absurd that Angie's List allows people to write a review about a company from a series of events that is over 4 years old. And from someone who was not even a member of Angie's List at that time. The fact that Angie's List has so little respect for its business members as to allow this, is beyond unfair almost to a point of Kafkaesque Lunacy. This move happened four years ago in June of 2013! Earlier today this customer wrote me on our Angie's List Message Board, and at that time she mentioned to us that her move took place in June of 2013; then in her review above, she wrote that the move happened in 2014, So apparently even she feels that 4 years is too long to complain about her move. I had to go back into our old old files, stored at a warehouse, to finally find her move. At that time we provided a truck size based on what she told me she had. When we got there she had far more than was presented to us over the phone. At that point, we have no choice, except to do the move as competently as possible given the circumstances. Which we did. And the workers did a perfect job. We treated her furniture and residences; walls and floors with extreme care. We did have to come back the next day to finish up - but as a company with workers, we have no choice; I cannot expect our guys to work until 2 AM. Its true that we did not give her any money off her move. Nor was I willing to send her a check today, despite her hinting around about money on our Angie's List message board earlier. But that was because the guys worked hard and did an excellent job, and the difficulties from the move were from circumstances that we had no control over. She is right about one thing though, we do have an excellent record with Angie's List, Google, and Yelp, and with every other venue out there. We moved over 490 customers last year and had about 12 complaints in total. In parting I would just like to say that, in this instance, the old adage, "You just can't please everybody" is 100% apropos. But I do feel sorry for her next moving company. Truly. And I suggest they check their Angie's List reviews in 2021. Hopefully she's not asking for money again."
"Thank You for the review. I do apologize if the move took a little longer than expected. The total time for your move was 5.5 hours. I don't feel that 5.5 hours is an excessively long time for moving a 3 bedroom house and a 12' X 12' storage unit? We will certainly reimburse you for the lamp, and again I do apologize for our not meeting your expectations. Sometimes the heat can slow the workers down some. If its hot outside its another 15 degrees hotter inside the truck. They do have to pace themselves so that they don't get heat stroke. Also I do want to address the issue of the cost of your move; you mentioned that it was $1200. Actually your move came to $939 plus you did give the workers a $150 tip; that brought the total up to $1089. $939 is quite a bit different from $1200. Sincerely, John Hathaway"
"Thank You [Member Name Removed]! You keep us moving - literally! Glad you found the missing table top cover. And glad our guys did a good job for you. If you ever need us again we'll be here! John Hathaway"
"We nailed the trifecta huh! Thank you so much [Member Name Removed]. Glad we measured up, And very glad that you are an Angie's List member, and that you picked our company out of all your other choices! The moving business is very competitive, its customers like you who keep us out there doing the dance! John Hathaway"
