When I called, Lakeland heard how old the TV was and suggested just buying a new HDTV TV, and said most repairs cost between $175 and $225. I explained I would rather spend $200 than $2500 right now. I had to call back to talk to Kevin; when I reached him he too suggested I might just want to buy a new TV. He took the serial number and said he'd order parts, then would call me to schedule the service. (I wondered how he knew what parts to order, but he said it was almost always capacitors or something. He must have been right.)It took longer than he said it would for the parts to come in, but in about a week I got a message to call to schedule. I had to call back to reach Kevin. When he came he was on time, got right to work, and was done in about 35 minutes. The TV works fine now. I thought the price was on the high side, with $80 for the service call and another $80 for labor, but they warned me ahead of time and the alternative (for us) was a new TV so it was worth it.

I called Lakeland twice with questions before scheduling the work, they were courteous and informative both times. When the installers arrived, we discussed the work to be done and they explained their process. They were done quickly, very friendly to my dog, and even answered some additional questions about the DVD/VCR combo that I had just purchased.

THEY QUOTED ME WORST CASE (HAVING TO REPLACE THE RECEIVER) BUT IT ENDED UP BEING CONSIDERABLY CHEAPER. THE TV WORKS VERY WELL NOW. IT TOOK ABOUT THE AMOUNT OF TIME THEY SAID IT WOULD. THEIR PRICE WAS COMPARABLE TO THE OTHER COMPANY I CALLED.

THEY WERE VERY GOOD TO WORK WITH AND VERY HELPFUL. HE SPENT LOTS OF TIME WITH ME TO EXPLAIN THE SYSTEM AND MAKE SURE I KNEW HOW EVERYTHING WORKED. I'VE WORKED WITH HIM BEFORE AND I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE. HE IS GREAT! HE'S TREATED ME VERY WELL.

THE 2 WORKERS (ONE WAS ALL THAT WAS NEEDED) WORKED RAPIDLY AND DID MAKE AN IMPROVEMENT IN TV RECEPTION. THEY DROVE 15 MINUTES TO GET HERE, BUT COULD HAVE WORKED IT IN WITH ANOTHER CALL CLOSER BY. THE COST WAS QUITE HIGH.

THE REPAIR WAS MORE EXPENSIVE FOR A COMBO TV/VCR THAN IF IT HAD BEEN A SEPARATE VCR. THE TURNAROUND TIME WAS EXCELLENT-IT WAS READY IN LESS TIME THAN THEY HAD TOLD ME.
