They were extremely flexible, professional and the quality of the work was excellent! Phil (job supervisor) is just as picky as my husband, which is incredibly picky! It was nice to have someone we could trust with our home.

Very efficient work for a small space, complete remodel. Completed project in the time given and work was excellent, professional, and our living space was clean. Joe was responsive to our questions and we love the final project.

J & D were professional, clean and had our best interests at heart. When they came to demo they took great care to move and cover anything we weren't able to bring upstairs. After the demo, they came over the next day to assist the Sump Pump company. They came early and discovered that post-demo our basement had flooded with a good 1 1/2'' of water. They took it upon themselves to help my husband and I rescue the rest of our storage and pull it upstairs. They also went and got a shop vac and tried to stop the water flow while we waited for the Sump Pump company to get there.
J & D also ensured all of our vents were covered, and the undamaged areas were taped and plastic sheeted off prior to the Sump Pump company arrival to protect our property.
Post-sump pump placement J & D did an excellent job in cleaning up the damage and returning our basement to the family area it was before the water damage. They were always courteous and took great care in keeping the rest of the property untouched. They also were very nice to our large husky/GSD mix who formed an attachment to a few of the workers and wanted to be petted when they came to talk to us.
They were also very good about pointing out items that hadn't been done correctly by a previous contractor and helping us fix it.
We are very pleased with the final product and will be working with J & D again to re-paint trim, doors and our upstairs bathroom.

We stated the project in September. The demolition went very fast, and they took great care to partition off the work area so that the rest of the house would not be affected. The building back-up process seems to take a while, but since I work from home, I was able to see that progress happened every day, even though it wouldn't be immediately apparent if you weren't there.
The electrical, plumbing, tile and paint contractors work a great deal with J&D, so they all work very well together.
They were careful to make sure that our living area (the bedroom area and the basement) were minimally affected while they worked, and they cleaned up the work area every single day.
It really wasn't so bad to live through it (although by the 11th week, I was really ready to be done)! They are very customer focused and I really appreciated that.

The work was excellent. You would never know there was a hole there before. I have worked with them for about 35 years. There was no smoking and they did a perfect job cleaning up. They even removed their shoes before they entered my house.

We couldn't be more pleased with the quality of their work. They use topnotch subcontractors such as Charles Cabinet and Abbott Paint. They are prompt, responsive, and are very easy to work with. Quality work is expensive and jobs usually expand to include added tasks as the work goes on. All plans should include a contingency reserve. Their roof price though, was several thousand dollars less than other bids. I plan to continue using J&D.

It was a pleasure to deal with J & D and their roofing subcontractor Chismar (sp?). They were methodical, unhurried, and responsive to my questions and requests. Clean-up was excellent. The price was $3000 below the insurance adjuster's estimate.

J & D did extraordinarily good work, performed on time, had excellent subcontractors, and kept me informed at each stage. Costs came in right on contract estimates. Their workers came at 7 a.m [except on Monday mornings, when they came around 8:30, thank heavens], their subs came at 7 or 7:30 [except for electricians, who always show up on their own clock--but within the 7 to 3 time], J & D began cleaning up each day at 3 and everyone was gone by 3:30. They and their subs never swore out loud, did not bring their dogs to my house or leave them in their trucks, did not smoke in my house or on my property, did not play music too loudly, and always were cheerful! J & D also said they would have me back in the kitchen within three to four months and were exactly accurate: I was without a laundry for all of three days and without a kitchen for not more than 8 weeks; and the complete job was over in four months, not counting the Thanksgiving break. [The job expanded once we discovered the problem in the existing bathroom, but J & D still met the four-month outside-estimate. I have neighbors who spent more than an year with their remodel, for no more work, complete with swearing workers and visiting dogs.] I now have a house that is beautiful and functional!

We had some pretty grand schemes to begin with, including tearing down the addition and rebuilding it, and remodeling the upstairs bathroom. The initial bid brought us down to earth. We scuttled the bathroom remodel and focused on the kitchen area. We also decided to reconfigure the existing addition. Joe was very patient and helpful as we worked to try to get the project within our budget. Work proceeded very quickly and very well. J&D's employees are real professionals, and their subcontractors are top-notch. All of them were hard-working, patient, friendly, and did great work. In order to keep the cost down, we did a lot of the work ourselves, and we also used a lot of antique/salvaged building materials for reasons of cost, being green, and historic sensitivity. These things can make it more difficult for contractors, but they handled it all. The cost cited above is what we paid J&D and doesn't reflect the fairly substantial additional costs. Great experience!
