Gust Estate Sales

It went exceptionally well. Ron and Judy Gust are great people with which to work. They have done this work for decades and showed professionalism in every aspect of the job. They lined up their own resources in staging, they offered help in what didn't sell to go to charitable organizations and saw that you received slips from those donations for your tax purposes. Above all, they treat you with dignity, respect, and compassion. Many people are going through emotional times during these sales and their compassion to you really stands out. Ron and Judy made what was a very emotional situation for my sister and I (estate sale at family home) a respectful and positive experience. They were absolutely wonderful!

First of all, I can't say enough about the professionalism and down right sincerity the Gusts had when they first met with us.  My wife and I were in charge of a 3600 sq ft. estate that was absolutely loaded with 89 years of stuff from the homeowner who had passed.  She loved her collectibles!  We were overwhelmed with all the "stuff" that was in this house.  I searched on Angie's List for Estate Sales, emailed several different companies, and the Gusts were the ONLY ONES to respond to me and come out and meet with us.  They met with us in early March.  Mr. Gust and his wife came out, were very straight forward with us, told us to "sleep on it" before making any decisions but my wife and I knew almost immediately they would be a good fit. They were booked up until the end of May, which we agreed would be a good time to do this.  It gave us time to go through some of this stuff.  
A few weeks before the sale, we met again with the Gusts and they then started working at night (they both work days) on getting the house ready for the sale.  As they told us in the initial meeting "You don't have to touch a thing if you don't want, we will take care of it all".  WHAT A RELIEF!!!  They staged the house beautifully and had everything priced a day or two before the sale.  There were things in this sale that I thought would never sell and I challenged them to sell these pieces.   My wife was there for the sale on Saturday and the Gust were very accommodating to the family, allowing them the first 10 numbers if they wanted.  I met with them on Sunday and they had moved a lot of the items on Saturday but we still had a house full on Sunday.  To my surprise, when we walked in on Monday after the sale, the house was very depleted and the items I challenged them to sell were ALL sold!!  You really don't understand how much stuff we got rid of!  They left the house looking clean and organized and I can't THANK them enough for all that they did for us.  The only downfall is that Mr. Gust is a Packer Fan....but I decided to look past that!  :)

Ron & Judy met with us on a moment’s notice and were very friendly & accommodating. They were very professional & kept us very informed of every step. They itemized each receipt to show us how they came up w/final sale amount & provided itemization of charitable contributions. Wonderful to work with.

Ron and Judy Gust were spectacular. They were well organized, staged our sale in the best possible manner, researched appropriate prices for all manner of collectables. They did an incredible job of advertising our sale and they treated us well and all the people who attended the sale well. We would not hesitate to recommend them with our highest commendation to anyone planning an estate or liquidation sale. Our rating is A++!

Complete professionals. From our initial meeting/ site survey, their sorting/ staging, and the sale itself-every detail they took care of for an excellent outcome including recommending how to donate the very small amount of things that didn't sell at the estate sale. Such a hard process but they were GREAT.

It went very well. It was well-organized and fairly priced. Well communicated. Good followup up and all added up to a great sale--They were timely, friendly, and neat.

I was responsible for disposing of the contents of a home that has been in my family for more than 90 years. There were four floors of accumulation, which was a combination of vintage items, some antiques and collectibles, and a lot of items that had no value at all.
As an example of their above and beyond service:
- We were unable to get a trunk open (no key!), so rather than sell it without verifying contents, Ron took it to a locksmith to make sure the value was accurate.
- The basement was wet and was full of long-forgotten tools, etc. After the sale, they brought in a buyer they know that is interested in tools on the chance something could be sold.
- After the sale, the home still had a lot of trash that had no value. Ron and Judy referred us to a reasonably priced company to haul away the remaining items.
I met with three different estate sale companies before I hired the Gusts. Of the three companies I met with, I was most comfortable with Ron and Judy's expertise, honesty, and warm professionalism. They are not collectors themselves, which is another factor that I liked. They were very easy to communicate with, handled the entire transaction with patience and humor, and I would use them again in a heartbeat.
I give them my highest recommendation!

Ron and Judy Gust stopped by my home to evaluate our possessions for a
sale. Many of the items I inherited have dropped dramatically in value
and we didn't have enough items to make it worth it for them to work
with us. That was hard to hear, but Ron and Judy were very diplomatic
about it and gave us some great advice for disposing of our possessions.

Ron and Judy (owners of Gust Estate Sales) were absolutely wonderful to work with. They are extremely knowledgeable and accommodating and genuinely nice, honest and trustworthy people. They executed all phases of the process with efficiency, compassion and professionalism. The sale was a great success; receipts were even higher than expected. Within a week they had provided a complete and accurate accounting, and settled up with us on the proceeds.
Upon completion of the sale, the few items not sold were still nicely staged for the family's final review. And, Ron and Judy are standing by to help us with donation of the residual when we are ready.
I highly recommend Gust Estate Sales.

They stole from us, did not live up to their contract, and lied to us. They were awful, horrible, and I would be suing them if I still lived in Minnesota.

Buttoned up. Handled everything from start to finish. They did it all. Whatever didn't sell they bundled up and donated to charity with our permission and oversaw that pick-up as well. They really know what they're doing!
