GRUBER'S POWER EQUIPMENT

My snowblower was starting, but would not continue running with pumping the pimer button.  Brought the snowblower in to Gruber's to be repaired.  Explained the problem, took it in to look at hit and was return less than a week later in running order.

I had Gruber's service a snowblower that hadn't been running in 5 years.  I asked for a tune-up and for them to look it over to make sure everything was working right.  I also had the somewhat unusual request of a pickup in the west metro and drop-off in the northeast metro.  
I picked Gruber's because they were one of the only companies willing to meet my pickup/drop-off needs.  They charged $100 for the delivery service (they said $80 was normal, but they charged an extra $20 the long distance).  The delivery went well and was punctual.  The service took a few days (I was in no hurry) and was completed as promised.  I graded them a "B" on price because the final bill was more than than the initial estimate and they did not call to inform me of the additional charges.  The bill explained the additional work needed, but it still would have been nice to receive a call explaining the additional work that was needed.  
Overall, I was very pleased and would use again, but I would make sure to ask them to notify me if the bill was going to be higher than the estimate.

They finally fixed it.

They came out in a couple of days and picked up the machine for repair. That was the main the reason I used them because they had pick up and delivery services. They had the machine for a week, they checked it thoroughly, oil leak and did everything that they were suppose to. The only thing that was out of line was the expense for the pick up and delivery. Their office is 2.5 miles from my house and they charged me $70 for pick up and drop. I think that being close by they should reduce the price for the pick up and delivery. The quality of their work was fine, they were very professional on the phone and when they picked up the machine. They were specific in the invoice on what they did and what the charges were.

I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO UPSET WITH A REPAIR SHOP IN MY LIFE. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS JUST AN OLD LAWNMOWER AND THAT I WAS LYING ABOUT THE BROKEN PARTS. I WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH GRUBERS AGAIN.

I BELIEVE THE REPAIRMAN, SIMPLY FORGOT THAT HE WAS TO CORRECT A STALLING PROBLEM, AS EVIDENCED BY NO WRITTEN MENTION OF PROBLEM ON WORK ORDER. I HAD SPOKEN TO HIM, BUT I THINK HE ACTUALLY FORGOT. WHEN I COMPLAINED TO A SUPERVISOR ABOUT THE PROBLEM, EVERYONE WAS VERY CONTRITE AND QUICKLY RECTIFIED THE PROBLEM. I AM IMPRESSED BY WHAT APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN A VERY SINCERE EFFORT TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND WOULD AVAIL MYSELF OF THEIR SERVICES AGAIN.
