This mechanic has been great. He only works on Volvos, so knows them inside and out.
He will tell me what needs to be done, what should be done, and what we might want to keep an eye on.
Volvos are expensive cars to maintain, so it's nice to have someone you can trust, who won't recommend all sorts of unnecessary work.

We have never been disappointed with the quality of their work or their customer service.

The repairs were costly but the service was outstanding

I used Glasgow for the first time to service my XC90. The last time I went to the dealer for service the service rep told me he could respond to a question but he had to multitask and fill out a tally while he talked to me. He seemed to be a lot more interested in his tally than in me. At Glasgow they bend over backwards to be informative and provide you with information--no stop watch. You can even call them cold on the phone and they will provide you with advice on the spot (no charge). I was very happy with the work they did but was even happier with the work they did not do. I complained to them about the performance of the shocks. Replacement would have been expensive but I was ready to do it. They knew I was willing to replace them but test drove the car and told me they did not think they needed to be replaced. As a non mechanic this is the best evidence I know that you can trust this specialized Volvo repair shop. I am not sure if they are cheaper than a dealer but they certainly do a better job of communicating and are very knowledgeable. Repair facility is cramped and grungy which may be off-putting for some persons.

Glasgow has services my two old Volvo 850s for two years now. I tried numerous service garages and found Mike and Michael to be the most honest, thorough and competent. They will use aftermarket parts when they are better value, and work with you to do only essential work (if that's what you want). I spend $3000/year keeping my 2 cars going, I trust Glasgow to do what is needed.

I bought a previously salvaged Volvo wagon, which had some odd electrical issues. Mike Sr. diagnosed the problem like a master and the car has been running fantastic ever since. They are honest and will tell you like it is. I found them to be better than the Volvo dealers.

Great - I've used Glasgow for over 5 years. They've always been upfront with nice vs. necessary repairs and are FANTASTIC for pre-purchase inspections. They'll help you decide if you should do a repair or "walk away" - and even helped me with evidence for a small claims court case for a bad vehicle inspection (the car should not have been on the road and had major structural issues). I was 5 mos. pregnant, and Mike "senior" was horrified at the idea of me getting back into that car and made my husband come and drive the car home. Their prices have slowly climbed over the years and there are some jobs they aren't very interested in doing - but they are always upfront and honest. A rare find these days.

They are fine Volvo mechanics. They are very honest and reasonably priced. I have used them for ten years and will continue to do so. I plan to buy a new Volvo because I know they will be able to take care of me well.

HONEST, PERSONALIZED SERVICE. HAVE USED SEVERAL TIMES. SPECIALIZES IN VOLVOS BUT SERVICES OTHER MAKES. SMALL SHOP, ABOUT THREE EMPLOYEES. I WISH MY PHYSICIAN WAS THIS GOOD.
