We have been in business, family owned & operated since 1905. We pride ourselves on customer service and honesty. Estimates for repairs are free and most repairs start at a minimum of $7.95, although there are a few things that are less and punching holes in a belt is free!

They replaced the zipper, and while they warned me it might not be possible, they were able to keep the existing zipper pull.

I had a pair of shoes repaired - the sole needed to be re-glued in a couple of places - at the Grand Ave. store. It was so good, I decided to have my Rockports resoled by them. Outstanding work. Initially, the young woman at the register tried to talk me out of getting the shoes resoled. She eventually saw the light, however. The first pair was done so well, I decided to have a second pair done. They came out great as well. New soles and a nice buff up to boot.

They are very honest and do such a good job. I am very impressed with the quality of work. I will go there from now on. He is upfront if a pair of shoes cannot be repaired.

I brought my shoe in to be repaired. They told me when my shoe would be ready for pick up and it was ready on the day they specified. They did a good job of repairing my shoe and the price was about right.

I wanted the sandals repaired, so price was not my first concern. They were able to do the repair, when I thought that they were not repairable. They did a good job. It was a very long drive for my house, but I was willing to make the drive because I wanted the sandals repaired.

My experience was very well. They had some recommendations for me on what needed to be done. It only took about a week. It only cost $9 and I thought that was very reasonable. I would recommend them and use them again.

The middle-aged man who waited on me was not very nice or pleasant. He quoted the price of $14 to stretch my new shoes and told me it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. I had a long wait and had to return to pick them up. I discovered there was no difference and I had to literally beg him to attempt it again, asking if it could remain on the machine a little longer to see if that would help. He finally gave in and I had to make a third trip back and received the same results. HOWEVER, I noticed much later that the edge of the sole was damaged. It was melted and a considerable slit had been made by the machine, which he probably knew about, and neglected to bring to my attention. They will definitely never see anymore of my money. I don't know what other shoe places charge, but $14 seemed very high a very short amount of time on the machine (I think it was only a couple of minutes). He was very curt with me.

"WE DO TELL CUSTOMERS THAT WE CAN NOT PROMISE IF A SHOE WILL STRETCH, BUT WE ALWAYS OFFER TO DO IT A SECOND TIME FOR NO CHARGE. THIS WOULD REQUIRE AN EXTRA TRIP BACK BUT THAT IS BECAUSE THEY STAY ON OUR MACHINE FOR UP TO 12 HOURS. IF THERE IS EVER A CUSTOMER THAT IS NOT HAPPY WITH ANY SERVICE AT GEORGE'S WE WANT TO HEAR FROM THEM. WE ARE A FAMILY-RUN STORE FOR OVER 102 YEARS, WE DO NOT TAKE OUR CUSTOMERS FOR GRANTED. WE GO WELL BEYOND WHAT ANY OTHER STORE WOULD DO TO KEEP OUR CUSTOMERS HAPPY. OUR STAFF IS MOSTLY FAMILY AND A FRIENDLY GROUP. WE DID A SEARCH OF ALL OUR CUSTOMERS THAT SPENT $14.00 ON A SHOE STRETCH IN THE PAST FEW WEEKS. I WAITED ON EACH ONE AND HAVE NEVER BEEN ANYTHING BUT HAPPY AND PLEASANT WITH ALL MY CUSTOMERS; I MIGHT BE BIASED BUT IT IS THE TRUTH. (AVG STRETCH IS $8.00 A PAIR) I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THE CUSTOMER BACK TO HOPEFULLY REGAIN THEIR TRUST. THERE IS STILL NO GUARANTEE THAT ALL SHOES WILL STRETCH, SORRY."

The strap on my favorite handbag was all but severed, chewed by an ill-behaved dog. Rather than removing a fair amount of stitching and putting in a seam, George's simply placed one piece on top of the other and stitched the strap together. It is very noticeable, and not professional looking. The repair happens to be right on top of my shoulder, so where the strap overlaps, it catches on my clothes. This was my first and last experience with George's.

WE GUARANTEE EVERY REPAIR THAT COMES THROUGH OUR DOORS AND HAVE DONE SO FOR OVER 100 YEARS, EVER SINCE MY GRANDFATHER STARTED THE BUSINESS. GEORGE'S IS RELIABLE AND DOES GREAT QUALITY WORK AT A REASONABLE PRICE. SHOES WERE READY WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE, AND THEY'RE PROFESSIONAL AND FRIENDLY. THEY SUGGESTED TOE PROTECTORS FOR THESE SHOES, BUT WERE FINE WHEN I PASSED ON HAVING THAT WORK ADDED. ONLY SLIGHT FAULT IS THAT I THINK THEIR HOURS ARE A LITTLE TOO LIMITED. IT WOULD BE NICE IF THEY COULD EXTEND THEIR EVENING AND SATURDAY HOURS A BIT.

I WAS VERY SATISFIED WITH THEIR ATTITUDE AND FRIENDLINESS AT THE COUNTER. THERE WAS A SHORT TURN AROUND TIME FROM DROP-OFF TO COMPLETION (A COUPLE OF DAYS). THE REPAIR WAS DONE NEATLY.
