+ -1 moreRichard is a rare breed of landscaper that takes pride in his craft, is courteous and honest, works hard and goes the extra mile to make sure his work makes the customer happy. We were a bit worried in the lack of a detailed plan in advance, and there was a small issue that came up during the construction, but this was cheerfully and quickly re-done with no extra charges. Since he actually does the work himself (with some assistance), there is not the overhead of other companies. The result was that the price was less than half of what many firms wanted to charge. We had many quotes and most were for over $30,000. We couldn't be happier with the result and saved many thousands besides - it doesn't get much better than that!
Description of Work: Richard Denn removed existing front steps and a retaining wall that were made from railroad ties and replaced them with Versa-Lok blocks. This was a very complex project as our front door entrance is very high. A winding path of stairs that included patio areas and small garden spaces was constructed with Richard participating with us throughout the design process. We didn't have a detailed drawing, so some work was adjusted "on-the-fly", but the result was fantastic and exceeded all our expectations.
