Capital City Construction & Remediation

This is an excellent company to work with, and I would highly recommend. I had black mold behind walls on two sides of my lower level due to drainage issues. Chad was very responsive and detailed 2 separate projects which were completed in 2020. Involved mold mitigation, painting, ceramic tile and carpeting replacement throughout most of the lower level. Chad assisted me in selecting high quality materials that fit with my home esthetic while keeping the projects reasonably priced. Where necessary he brought in experts to address specific needs to ensure best solution possible. The results were better than I expected. Chad remained in contact throughout the project. The work crew leads (Halsten & Matt) were both terrific. They were prompt, very professional, meticulous and very clean. I am working with Capital City Construction again to plan a project on the exterior of my home this spring/summer.

I purchased a condo that needed extensive mold remediation in the bathroom and laundry room. A previous owner had put a screw into the waste pipe which eventually burst and had been leaking for some time. Also, the water heater had failed and left water on the floor. There was water intrusion from 2 windows and the roof as well. This work was paid for by a third party payer, and Capital City is obviously very experienced in handling that aspect. Capital City handled my project smoothly from start to finish, starting with my first phone call. The company and the project manager (Joe) set very high standards for the crew's work. The mold removal process was quick and precise. They removed all damaged materials in a safe manner, based on the mold inspector's recommendations. They used high grade surface treatment products to prevent mold return. The reconstruction portion was done extremely well. I am so happy with my new bathroom and laundry room - they are the best rooms in the place now! The crew were excellent to work with and very knowledgeable. Matt is a gem. It is not worth hiring anyone else except Capital City for mold remediation and reconstruction. They are the only way to go, given their excellent customer service, expertise and ability to handle difficult projects.

Chad and his crew where very professional & courteous. They went over and above what was on the estimate. Did additional work with no charge. Very knowledgeable about the procedure, walked me through all the steps. Would recommend them for all work. Thank you Capital City for a job well done.

Prompt response to request; quick estimate. The mold was removed according to remediation requirements. We also had Capital City replace the carpeting and repaint the bedroom. Although this was probably a much smaller project than they normally deal with, we never felt the team rushed the work or put us aside for a bigger customer. We would definitely consider using them again for any other needed project.

All turned out well. There was no mold problem. Matt was the technician and he was great! He was knowledgeable and gave us honest feedback about the quality of installation of bathroom vents and roof vents (done by other contractors). This gave us confidence to know that we did not have a problem and we can move forward with other improvements.

Better than I could ever imagine!! Do yourself a favor and hire Capital City. The outcome was the best. Others tried to get my business but they are slipshod compared to Capital City. Call Chad now he will earn your business. Chad is a breath of fresh air and is the measuring stick I will be using from now on when it comes to contractors. Guess what...Chad wants your business and you should give it to him. CHAD YOU ROCK!!

Fine as far as we know- ever had it done before

.the work went well, Chad Harrington was very timely in his communication with me. His work team showed up on the scheduled day, the work was done in a timely fashion and the finished product was a quality job. I would hire Chad Harrington's Capital City Construction and Remediation company again for other home construction projects. His lead technician, Matt Mallinger who did the remediation work and finished off the basement wall was an excellent worker and did a good job at communicating between Chad and myself as to work scheduling. I highly recommend Chad Harrington for any type of home construction or water damage remediation work.

Great job removing all mold and identifying the issue (broken pipe). Recommended a plumber who did an excellent job. Capital City did a good job on the rebuild (new insulation, sheet rock, sub floor), but the finishings were so-so initially. Wife spoke to them and they came right back out, no questions asked, and did a great job on the finishing.

Chad and his crew are great. I have had them do mold remediation before and it went so well that I had them come back and do the above work for me. Chad is great about returning calls quickly and answering any questions I had. His crew was very kind and respectful and cleaned up after themselves every day, and the day before the last day they told me to make a list and they would compare it to theirs on their final day so that they didn't miss anything and make sure they did everything I wanted them to. So I went around and did an inspection and the next day when I gave them my list they already had most of that on the schedule for that day and finished the other few little touch ups I pointed out. Very pleased with the work and the timeline and satisfied with the final project.

Thought I needed mold behind stucco removed. Turned out it was discoloration from a birch tree nearby. Capital City employees removed the dirt, since there was no mold to take care of. Although the job was much smaller than anticipated, they still followed through and did a terrific job. This company is as honest and hard-working as they come.

I really appreciated their timely and considerate manner. They worked well to explain and go over the procedures and options and there were no hidden costs, it was just what they quoted. I really appreciated the willingness to comeback and fire-tape, mud and sand the walls at no additional cost.

It went very well. The guys showed up when they said they would and the bill was just as quoted, we didn't end up with a bunch of miscellaneous charges at the end. They were all wonderful to work with, very friendly and professional. We have plans to have them back within a few months for the next job!

Capital City did an outstanding and professional job in a very timely manner. The crew (headed by Matt) that performed the work was very experienced, friendly, courteous, and always had time to keep me updated on this multiple day project and to answer my many questions. This is a great company to do business with.

After telling Chad what we wanted done, he provided us with a detailed quote for the work, told us when his crew could start and when they would be finished. His crew was very friendly and did excellent work. We were very pleased with how everything went. They started and finished the job within the time frame that we were told which was important to us. I would very much recommend Capital City and we plan on using them again in the future.

Capital City did a phenomenal job. They were detail-oriented and quick at the same time. They were responsive and considerate, and were great guys as well. I give Chad and Capital City my highest recommendation. I'd hire them again in a second.

SUPER FAST! I called a few from Angie's list and Chad got back to me within 24 hours and was getting the repairs done within the week. He had his lead guy, Matt do the work since he was away, and Matt was a super nice guy too. I was really worried about the expense and the extent of the problem. Chad assured me that this was a very minor issue, and in fact advised that it wasn't even necessary! We got it done anyway, and are very happy with their work and pleasant manner.

It was an absolute pleasure working with Chad and his crew and the project could not have gone any smoother. They were all very professional, friendly, on-time and very good at what they do. They finished the remodel in the time frame they estimated (1-1/2 weeks) and the finished product is something I am very proud of. Chad was great about responding to my emails almost immediately. I can't wait to work with them again, because they will be the only contractor I will every call again!

They cleaned up all the mold. The put in new insulation. They put a sealant on the walls, ceiling and floor that included a 10 year warranty. It went very well. They where very punctual and polite. They took time to explain what they were going to do and why they were doing it. They were always prompt when they came to my house. The owner is a very nice person.

Chad and his team showed up on the date promised and went about doing thier work in a professional and meticulous manner. The team was in and out of the house without inconveniencing my family. The job was completed on time for my mom's arrival and she was thrilled with the new look of the bedroom.  Chad went above and beyond the job having his electrician come over to hang new lighting fixtures in the bedroom. 

Performed assessment but never sent the estimate of remediation work to be performed. Contacted for follow up and was promised to receive once he returned from a conference. Still nothing. Been over 1 month.
