The good: Burton was responsive at a time when other providers were not promptly returning calls.  It was a time of ice dams all over town.  Burton does not steam roofs, but shovels them and has a method for carefully removing ice so it does not damage the roof.  He works with his wife.  The bad: His initial quote was $695 but then agreed to $500.  He and his wife were here for 1 and 3/4 hours and they completed the job.  They came back to check after a day and the remaining snow and ice had melted. They did the job, but I thought their pricing was very high for as long as they were here. It amounted to $140/hour per person! SUMMARY:

 I would use again due to responsiveness and quality of work, but only if I could not find a more affordable option.

We called the Burtons in mid November to have our gutters cleaned.  It was late in the season, but the leaves fell really late this year.  They were able to accommodate us even at the end of the season by asking if they could come out on Thanksgiving day.  Since we were out of town for the day, it worked out great, especially since truly cold weather came the day after.
Their crew did a great job.  They brought their own ladders and hoses.  We only needed to make sure the water was turned on for them.  When we got home, I found nice, clean gutters.

Burton Johnson responded promptly to my inquiry about the task, and stopped by within a day to give me an estimate for the job. I accepted the estimate on the spot and asked him to go ahead, on his schedule. He recommended a date a week or so out so that the trees surrounding my home would have dropped their leaves. I agreed. Today he and his wife arrived in the afternoon, and two hours later my gutters were clean and downspouts were flowing freely. The job was done with speed and efficiency, and everything was cleaned up all around the perimeter of my home. He advised me of a few rusty spots (the house has older steel gutters) but said nothing was so bad as to require replacement. I have used a cheaper service to perform the same tasks a couple of years ago, and was not at all happy with the quality and professionalism of that service; my experience with Burton was far more satisfying, and I plan to call him again the next time I require gutter cleaning or servicing.

There was some confusion over our appointment for the estimate.  We were able to discuss the situation well when we did connect. Burton and his wife had good suggestions for the job.  They did a thorough job and emphasized contacting them with any problems in the future.

Our basement flooded during a particularly bad downpour.  I called Burton to ask about having our gutters cleaned.  He came out promptly and gave us a bid.  We arranged to have him come the next day to clean the gutters.The next day came with another hard rain and thunderstorms.  Unbelievably Burton showed up with his wife and cleaned the gutters.  I was astounded and grateful as he saved me from drying out the basement again.He went completely above and beyond

I got an estimate and discount because of Angie's list. They showed up when they said they would and worked in the dark with head lamps on. In spite of the dark, they cleaned up the leaves and were quite efficient.

I was impressed that Burton's seemed like a Mom and Pop business. They were very professional and gave me information I can use to care for my gutters in the future. They came and did the work themselves and were efficient.  They were delayed in the schedule of putting my new down spount on due to gutter cleaning around the neighborhood. I recommend this survice provider for cleaning and repairs for gutters.  They were great.  The only catch is that you pay for what you get and they seemed a little more expensive than others. In my opinion it was money well spent.
