Absolutely horrific experience. Almost three years later my entire project is falling apart. Water damages,’wet ceilings, siding is falling off and gutters are causing more damages and were improperly installed. This has caused more trauma that anyone could imagine doing through. Built Strong has refused every communication asking for them to assess, their repair people have all quit and confirmed shoddy work. Absolutely STAY AWAY. The company pays cash for FIVE STAR REVIEWS! Read the BAD ones only, that’s the truth.

BEWARE!!! I don’t even know where to start…at first, they were prompt and responsiveness— that was until they had our insurance checks, of course. Then, excuse after excuse why things weren’t ordered and they were delayed. Ongoing lack of communication and responsiveness is a huge concern. When we started making calls to supervisors, finally they got out to the house. Shouldn’t have gotten our hopes up…because they didn’t actually complete the job they were hired to do. They “forgot” to do the ridge vents on our shop. The crew didnt snap any lines for shingles, so shingles rows are not straight. Rakes were so uneven, a kindergartener could cut straighter lines (they came out later to fix, but made it even worse). They damaged a gutter (later replaced with a shorter one that wouldn’t catch water off the roof), plus damaged a log on our log home (and chipped another). Oh! And safety? Forget that. An open utility knife came flying off the roof and hit my child in the leg (he was at least 12 feet away). Weeks later, when gutter guy came he left all the gutter debris including nails and shingle granules all over our deck, yard, and driveway. So clean up and patching tire holes were just icing on the cake to this nightmare. We started this process in early September of 2023. January : got our invoice. They made a clerical error and we ended up owing $9000 more than originally told (they called this human error). I found a $619 overcharge and another charge for flashing they didn’t even do. Working with Built Strong was one of the worst experiences ever. Very unethical, poor workmanship, poor communication, no integrity.

Awful! I can't say enough on the poor communication. Nothing is written in their system so when you would call, no one knows what's going on. You don't get an itemized list of what is specifically going to be done. They refuse to give you a price and will take whatever your insurance company gives you but with nothing in writing from Built Strong so how can I guarantee I won't get a bill? They had the siding on my lawn for days after they finished, I had to call them as it was killing my grass. Terrible experience even my neighbor was watching the work being done and decided not to go with this company.

I had a lot of issues with Built Strong. Their reviews looked decent on google but after signing on with them it went downhill fast. The estimated times for installation were wrong. The price quoted was inaccurate and the work was very poor. They left open electrical wiring hanging off of the roof. Contractors would leave on break and just throw ladders and equipment onto landscaping that completely destroyed it. And when I tried to discuss these issues with them, I was either ignored or there was a weeklong delay in a response. There are so many better teams out there. I'd stay away from this group.

We contacted Reed at Built Strong after we had hail damage to our roof. Reed came out and took a look and decided that there was damage and it should be replaced. He made arrangements with our insurance adjuster to meet them at our house. We were happy with the results. During our project he communicated with us and kept us posted. Which put our mind at ease. His crew worked hard and were done in a day! With little disruption to us. Which we appreciated! The new roof looks good and the way they replaced some of the venting, it looks better than before. The crew left and cleaned up well. We appreciate a job well done and it required little effort on our part. It was nice not having to wonder what was going on. We did recommend them to neighbors too!

I can’t say enough about Tony and the Built Strong Exteriors team. I had the opportunity to work with Tony via Purple Heart Homes in getting a new roof installed on my house. I’m a disabled Veteran of the Gulf War ’90-’91. Working with Tony was absolutely stress free; they initially came out, looked at my house (inside the attic; outside, and of course the roof itself). After talking about my needs and wants to help with proper air circulation, venting, and preventing ice dams, and an awesome color choice. Tony was confident he could hep with as many as those as possible. After a couple weeks of planning and getting everything figured out; the job commenced bright and early with an all hands-on deck attitude. Tony was there all day, along with other members of the BSE team. The roofing crew was considerate with the outside of the house; putting up a material guard around it to keep any debris from hitting the house if it fell off. They worked efficiently, effectively, and completed the roof in under a day. At the end of the completion, they did an immaculate job at cleaning up after themselves; including hauling away all the old roof pieces. I am just so pleased and blessed to have the opportunity to work with a person like Tony and Built Strong Exteriors. Highly recommended Thank you so very much, Scott Disabled Army Veteran

We had Roof, Siding, and gutters done. The roofing went well, they were kind and considerate and did a nice quick job. The gentlemen who did the gutters was kind, and considerate, and did a nice job. Even accommodating our rain barrels with the down spouts. However, we were not satisfied with the service we received from the siding crew. They were not respectful of our property in the way they conducted their work. Several members of the crew were smoking on our property while working and leaving cigarette butts all over, 20 + cigarette butts. We had to ask one of them who was on our deck right outside our dining room to not smoke on the property. I then put a notice out for the rest of the crew to not smoke on the property. I found it very disrespectful and unprofessional for them to be smoking while working on my home. The second issue that we dealt with was litter being left around the yard, even after the job was done. The most troubling item was nails that were left ALL over the property, on my roof, in my gardens, on my deck.(I am still finding nails) I do understand that some nails and debris will be left behind, however I do not feel they made a reasonable effort to clean up after themselves. I have two kids, and do NOT like the idea of so many nails being left all over my property for them to step on. The third issue was the treatment of my gardens. I do understand that some damage is unavoidable, because the workers need to get in to do their work. However, my 5’ 10” husband is able to navigate the gardens without much harm with the exception of the North garden. There were several plants that could have EASILY been avoided if the workers had stepped 3-4” one way or another. I put a lot of money, time and energy into maintaining my gardens and do not appreciate them being treated with this level of disrespect. As a home owner paying for a service, I feel that the crew could have, and should have done better than they did. Although the work itself seems to be okay, with the exception of a few places where it seems things were rushed and not done as well as they could have been. I do feel that there are enough options for this kind of work that a home owner should be able to have the work done well without their property being damaged.

We had this company out to inspect our old siding. Tony was our sales rep. He recommended a product that would help with better insulation and it has made a huge difference with heating and comfort. He also assisted with helping pick out the siding. We have had many compliments on the new look of the home. Great install crew and highly recommend for your next project.

Took 1 year to complete the work and not once in the year was I contacted as to why it was taking so long or when workers would show up. Garbage was left all over our yard for 1 month. When I contacted the company to let them know my concerns I was hung up on. I was pleased with the work when it was completed.

I contacted Built Strong Exteriors to check my attic insulation. Ken Coppes came out and inspected my attic insulation and told me that I did not need to add more insulation to what was already there. He explained the cost benefit would not justify the cost of adding insulation. I really appreciate that he was honest with me and did not try to sell me something I did not need. I will definitely call them in the future when I have a need for their services.

Terrible! IReally couldn’t have been worse unless they had burned the house down. Installers did not know what they were doing and had little information regarding our quote. Were told they would install baffles or some such in to ensure airflow but installers were clueless and tried to explain that they weren’t needed. Did not have adequate amount of insulation and had to run to Home Depot for more. Tracked mud and insulation in house and didn’t bother to clean it up. Manager came out to house and tried to explain it away as the estimator giving us too low a quote based on square footage. Kicker was the manager tracking insulation all over and not cleaning up anything just after we complained about the installers. Wanted r-60 and manager hemmed and hawed and said it wasn’t “needed”. Avoid this company.

My contractor Dan met with my adjuster on Tuesday 9/25. Dan got on the roof with the adjuster and pointed out all of the hail damage, which got the adjuster to approve a full roof replacement!! Built Strong Exteriors replaced my roof on Friday of the SAME week. They were still working on it when we left to go out of town at noon. Today I came home to a totally new GORGEOUS roof!! Not only did it look great, the crew did a great job on the clean up. I was very impressed with the workmanship, and I would definitely recommend them to friends and family!

I was referred to Ken Copps from a co-worker. My house is not large, but I still got two quotes. Ken came out on a weekend was very polite and he was "no pressure". He was the only company that went into my attic and saw my bathroom wasn't venting. The work only took one day to complete and they did a good job cleaning up the mess. We have to have Masonite siding replaced in the future and we will call Built Strong again.

I am a business owner in odor removal, I had a client that needed some ventilation added to their home, I reccomended Ken Coppes from Built Strong Exteriors. Ken went out to my clients home, he was prompt, on time very curteous, as the customer called me and told me they were very happy with his service. I hired Built Strong after having drainage issues at my home. Met with Charles B who evaluated my house and suggested oversized downspouts and repitching my existing gutters. The crew was small but very nice and they finished in one day. I would recommend them to my family and friends anytime.

Work took 1 year to complete. Workers would show up at random times without pre notification. Building materials ere left strewn on the grass and driveway for 2 months generating neighbor and association complaints. No communication during the entire year until we sent an email. Called the owner of the company with these issues and he hung up on me. Do not use this company.

Completion of the roof on our home was completed on our home to our satisfaction, although not in as timely manner as promised, particularly in scheduling the gutters to be replaced once work on the roof was done. The roof on the porch was not completed with the same level of attention to detail and quality. Built Strong is holding a firm position that it is our error in agreeing to the rough cut shakes they pushed on us as an upgraded product (as they had them left over from a previous job) vs the previous cedar shakes we had and not realizing it is a different rough look. We are confident this is not the case and they simply used some poor quality rough cut shakes and also some good quality rough cut shakes and now are not willing to take on the cost to purchase enough good quality shakes and fix the roof to our satisfaction.

Owner Dave is amazing. I contacted Dave after a storm rolled in and he was out the next day to climb on the roof, inspect the damage and provide guidance and assistance. He worked directly with my insurance company and I didn't have a worry or a care. He provided multiple quality options for all products needed. His crew was prompt, professional, respectful, diligent and provided great workmanship. The whole process was professional, timely and seamless and I couldn't be happier with the end result and the service provided.

Dave and his crew was great to work with. Dave went out of his way to work with me and my insurance company. I hardly had to do anything as Dave took care of it for me but kept me informed the entire time. The crew removed the old roof and replaced it with a very nice new roof that all the neighbors are jealous of. I was happy to see that the crew went out of their way to protect our plants and landscaping and made the yard look like it did before they showed up. I would use Built Strong in the future and have no problems recommending them to anyone. Dave was upfront and honest the whole time and I appreciated it. I felt I could trust him and his crew and you do not always get that these days. Great job.

Our roof looks great! Not only did Dave and his team do a fabulous replacement, they went out of their way to ensure our house and surrounding landscaping was protected. They placed tarps around the entire perimeter of our home and placed plywood protection over our plants. The entire team was professional and provided exceptional service. Dave was easy to work with, providing all the information needed to help us make the best shingle choice and was present throughout the re-roof. When the project was complete he did a final walk around the house and landscaping to make sure everything met his level of quality service and our expectations.

So much better than what I had. I was really impressed the day the crew showed up. Materials, dumpster, plywood lean to agains the side of me house, etc. They did not damage even one shrub. The crew of about six were all polite and professional. Dave Flatum was on the job site more often than not and explained everything that would be done as the job progressed. One the third day, they finished. I did not find one ding or scratch in my cedar siding. I did not find one nail in my driveway or lawn. Other than the beautiful new wood roof (and skylight) no one would have known I just had a big project going only a day or so before.
Dave was great to work with. It's obvious how much pride he takes in his work. I'd recommend him to anyone.
