Wow - Torger isn't just an amazing and knowledgeable piano technician but he goes the extra mile as a businessman. Haven't heard or felt my piano sound so amazing! As a professional pianist with a DMA in piano performance and composition, I use my piano daily for practice and writing music (an old Steinway that wasn't cared for in many years before I got it!). After an initial misunderstanding and a tuning that was rushed due to circumstance, I wasn't happy with the first tuning. Torger offered to come back out without charge and not only tune my piano fully but adjust the action, making the piano sound and feel incredible! He also recommended further work on the piano based on a thorough and detailed analysis and took the time to explain his thinking and processes. You learn so much more about a person and business when you see how they react to problems and Torger came through in spades. Really happy with the quality of his work and his willingness to correct any problems that come along the way.

Torger B. has become our regular tuner (for our 40-year-old Sohmer upright piano) after finding his listing here a little over 5 years ago. Friendly but professional and down-to-business. Recommended.

Torgor is very friendly and pleasant (puts up with noseyness from my overly-friendly pitbull). The strings had to be ordered from Steinway and strung, but then they stretch and go out of tune rather quickly. He builds many retunings into the price and stops by to bring them all back into tune every few weeks as the strings keep stretching. The piano sounds so much better! It's a pleasure to practice at home now. He also tuned the grand at my workplace and a co-worker wondered who tuned it because it sounds better than it ever has before. We're all very pleased.

This was the second time that I have used this piano tuner. Both times I was very satisfied. He was on time and was very efficient with the job at hand. He made the piano fun to play again.

Excellent service. Stressful because neighbors (in apt building) disturbed by the noise of piano tuning. Torger Baland patiently provided a reality check and assurance that complaints (from neighbors) do happen because the noise of tuning is not necessarily "fun". I would definitely recommend this provider and will use his services in the future.

I was really impressed with the job done. He took his time and it ended up needing a little more work than he had planned but he still only charged me what he had originally quoted. Piano sounds great and it had not been tuned for over 15 years.

Torger did a great job! Our piano had not been tuned for almost 10 years and I was a little worried (and embarrassed!). But Torger did not make an issue of it, and now our piano sounds great!

He did a good job putting my piano back in tune. I didn't realize it had been as long as it had been. He was able to fit me in his schedule quickly.

I called to have a few more sticking keys fixed. Torger got the job finished within half an hour and they're as responsive as the others. He mentioned the possibilities of either fixing any future keys either as they came up or by doing a whole-unit service depending on how/if future problems arose on our 40-year-old piano.

I was impressed with this piano tuning from start to finish. Torger arrived on time, neatly and professionally dressed. He asked me if I had any questions or concerns. (Yes, one of the keys was sticking.) He was polite and well-spoken. He unwrapped his tools, which were organized and well cared for. He was patient and kind with me, answering all my questions. After he had been working on it for a little while, I asked how my piano was doing, and he was able to tell me in a way that inspired confidence. I can't remember all the technical details of our conversation, but his words soon made it obvious to me that he had a great depth of knowledge and experience. When he was finished, he gave me some advice about our piano. Then, I played it and was delighted at how much better it sounded. To keep it sounding good, I will stick to a regular schedule of tunings from now on, since I now hear how much it matters. The only thing I would have changed is that I wish we had scheduled for the next tunings before he left my house, so I don't let it go too long next time. It is easier for me to just set those things up right away--otherwise I forget. It sounds so good to have my piano properly tuned. I want to keep it that way.

This whole experience was great. When I contacted Torger by email he responded very quickly. He had questions listed on his website that I answered in my email so that he could give an educated estimate for the cost of tuning and adjusting the pitch on our piano. When I asked what his availability was he was able to get us in within 5 days. He came promptly when he said he would and was very professional. He was dressed professionally and had a shirt with his name and business on it so I felt very comfortable having him come into our home. He worked with precision and I could tell that he definitely knew what he was doing and had a lot of experience in tuning pianos. Torger turned our piano into a fine-tuned instrument! The cost was exactly what his estimate was. I would highly recommend Torger Baland to anyone that needs their piano tuned.
