Patty was helpful and knowledgeable. She responded promptly to my initial phone message. She asked detailed questions to get a true picture of the proposed installation. She asked about the manufacturer of the circuit breaker box so that the electrician would have the correct circuit breaker brand. She also ensured that a permit was pulled and filed with the city inspector's office. Her quote was detailed and competitive. An appointment was arranged within a week. The electrician was on time and all his work was done courteously and professionally. The city inspector's office was by within three weeks and installation passed his inspection with no problem. I would recommend Mendota Electric, unconditionally.

After I made the initial appointment, I decided to get a light over my dining room table. I asked them if they could put it up for me and they did. I was just pleased with them. Their prices seemed pretty fair. During the work, there was a part that the repairman needed in order to finish the job. He had to go to the hardware store to get it, which he did graciously but he got a little lost on the way back. I am happy with the work that he did and I would use them again.

Called Mendota early this morning (Monday) after the GFCI outlet in our bathroom tripped Saturday evening and wouldn't reset. This also caused all the outlets outside to go dead along with back door light. I explained my situation to Pat (person that answered my call). She was very helpful and gave me an estimate of possible charges and asked if I wanted to proceed. I told her my schedule was difficult Tues and Wed, so if there was a way to get an electrician out today, that would be the best for me. I knew that would be difficult, but Pat took my work number and told me she would have an electrician to my home today and they would call me so I could meet them at my home. The call came at about 1:30 pm from the electrician and I met him at my home. 30 minutes later, a new GFCI had been installed and everything was working. Electrician was very friendly, efficient and cleaned up when done. He went outside and checked all outlets to make sure they were working. I am very pleased.

Electrical problem that came up during other remodeling work required electrician to diagnose and fix (find out why the switch was getting so hot and making the lights flicker). Also, new light fixture for the bathroom needed installing. As always, Mendota Electric goes the extra mile when trouble shooting, and works very hard to quickly fit me into the schedule whenever I call. They continue to provide top notch customer service. This is the 4th time I've used them, and they will continue to be my preferred electrical contractor. And I will continue to ask for Josh!

Even after I described the problem and the service person knew that the work would not be extensive nor very profitable and that it was almost 25 miles away, I was scheduled for service the following day. When the electrician arrived, he was quickly able to find the cause of the problem which turned out to be a tripped circuit 2 floors up. Great service.

Arrived a few minutes early. After explaining what we wanted done, he suggested placing the outlet closer to the sump pump. He was done in about 30 minutes and we also now have an outlet that we can plug in a light to. We did not request an estimate before the work was done, but were pleasantly surprised at the low cost. Much lower than we expected.

It went great! Patty had estimated about $400, and the price came in at $360. They called to let us know that they were stuck in traffic and would be a few minutes late. When he got here, the electrician was really nice, and explained everything he was going to do. The new installation looks professional - very nice. The repairs are still working great.

Placed a call to Mendota and they were great over the phone. They asked great questions about the work to be done, were very professional and accommodating to get on their schedule. The electrician they sent over was also very professional and was courteous and left everything very clean. Overall I'm happy with the work they did. The price was more than what I expected to pay, but I accepted the explanation and understand why the service cost more than originally thought (needed more wire because of the distance from the circuit panel to the 220 plug).

Rick Swanson came to my home and looked at my panel and needs and later e-mailed me a quote. He was the only contractor who would come to my house for the quote.

The work was scheduled to occur within a week of my call and the electrician, Josh, arrived right on time. He found a great way to move the satellite and telephone lines simply and easily without tearing up hardwood floors or textured ceiling. The job took only 2 hours and the charge was incredibly reasonable, especially considering that a specialty home/audio company looked at the job and quoted $3,000 for two technicians to do the same work over two full days. Before he left, Josh also helped with old telephone lines dangling out of the walls in two rooms. There were no problems and no messes. Josh was really pleasant to talk to. I couldn't be more pleased.

220V installed for new stackable washer/dryer: Replaced gas dryer. When we purchased the set, the salesperson didn't mention dryer required 220V (found out when dryer arrived to be installed.) My call to Mendota Electric was returned promptly. From start to finish everyone at Mendota Electric terrific to work with: communicative, responsive, empathetic (I'd been without laundry at home about two weeks.) They were consummate professionals and a pleasure to work with. There were no surprises, entire process was fully explained. Plan to use their services again in the future.

I get lots of bids and they had the best bid, service was great, and they were on time!

Overall, I'm happy with the work Mendota did. Patty, who answers the phone, is friendly and knowledgeable. Josh did the job efficiently, with very little mess. They even had a rare circuit to fit my old board. My concern about using them again relates to the estimate. Patty gave me a rough one over the phone. But Josh & I spent about 40 minutes discussing just what to do. If, at that point, I had decided not to go ahead, it would have still have cost me an hour's labor. Josh did get the job done within the orig. estimate of 2-3 hrs (only because I picked up the proper circuit from Mendota). Also, there was an extra $30 charge for a permit--that's fine, but it should have been specified as part of the estimate. So in the future, unless the job is very clear cut, I'd look for a company that wouldn't charge to send someone out to estimate the job accurately & determine the supplies needed.

Very pleasant to deal with and professional in their work.

Patty asked several initial questions over the phone with some suggestions. Once we decided that a service call was necessary, she was very helpful in scheduling a time that worked for us. Joe was prompt the next morning and very helpful in finding the problem. He replaced a breaker and suggested some ideas if we wanted to do other upgrades later.

Josh wired our house and was very courteous. He cleaned up after himself and inquired at appropriate times regarding some issues. The office was easy to work with.

Electrician called ahead of showing up, and arrived at the stated and agreed upon time. After discussing the scope of the project and observing the area the work was to be preformed, he went to work. He communicated well when he needed to turn off the power, and sought my approval of the work before wrapping up.

Rick came out and gave us an estimate. I asked him what we could do make it hit our budget numbers. One opinion was for us to do the demo work (remove all the existing outlets, lights, switches including the flex conduit). I've done some electrical work before and understood our layout, so the work was pretty straight forward. Doing this work saves use about $1200 and gave them a clean slate to work with. So we ended up working as a time and materials, versus project estimate, which meant we needed to pay when the work was done. Matt arrived on time at 7:30 both mornings and did a great job. He took the time to answer my questions and cleaned up after himself. The only problem with going with a time and materials job is the worker can ''milk'' the clock. So your mileage my vary on how it works with you.

Patty and Rick both were very prompt, kind and to the point. They told me what my options were, gave me a basic price and I set up the work to be done. Matt did a good job on the wiring and they were right on time when they came to do the work.

The job looked fairly straightforward but the age and condition of the existing wiring made the job more difficult than anticipated. Nonetheless, I was disappointed in the way the work was done. There were unexplained delays and several times when the electrician didn't show up when he said he would or didn't return, though he said he would. The quality of the work was good, but I'd have preferred less hassle in getting it done.

The job went very smoothly. I had received three other bids for the same job, and Mendota's came in as 2nd most affordable. They were able to do it more quickly than the cheapest so I decided on Mendota, based on other reviews on the List. Rick Swanson was great to work with, he was actually able to come out the same day I called for the bid/estimate. He sent me an email copy of the bid (I prefer electronic documentation) and the work came in right on estimate. The electricians themselves were extremely professional. Offered to take shoes off before going into the basement, etc. They even gave me some suggestions to think about (like adding an additional light in a smaller back hallway, and were able to do the small additions on the spot w/o scheduling yet another workday. They also did a great job of cleaning up. I'll definitely call them on other jobs in the future.

I attempted to schedule some electrical repairs in advance of an outdoor party in June. Patty told me that they might be able to squeeze me in, but called at the last minute and said that they could not. She said the work would be done the next week. She called and told me that they would not be able to come out that week, and then called to tell me a time the following day they might be able to come out. I am employed and cannot sit at home and wait for someone who might come. I told her so. I never heard back and the work has still not been completed. I am very disappointed that they did not have sufficient manpower to take care of a potential customer.

Rick came out to do an estimate since it was a relatively large job. He was excellent. Felt he really knew what he was doing and was very personable. Didn't choose Mendota though because another firm gave a lower estimate and felt they would do an equally good job.

Jared was right on time and very friendly. He answered all of my questions before he began the work. He worked quickly and finished in less than an hour. Because of this, the price for the work was less than I anticipated. Their hourly rate was very similar to other electricians I had called. I also appreciated that I received a phone call the day before to remind me of my appointment time.

They were professional, worked quickly, and did work as agreed.
