I bought a vent-a-hood to be mounted under some small cabinets (in place of a microwave) over the stove top. I called two different contractors. The first guy, who vent-a-hood recommended, wanted to charge me $650 and claimed it would take most of a day. Appliance Specialty Inc. quoted me $350 over the phone. Good thing I decided to get multiple quotes. The Appliance Specialty guy arrived during the scheduled time period and completed installation of ducts and the hood in somewhere between 2-3 hours. Everything was courteous and professional.

This was a big job! The provider arrived and was able to remove the old oven quickly. He hauled it away for disposal. The kitchen was already plumbed for gas but the contractor had to go down and connect the gas in the basement. The new unit has slightly different dimensions than the old one so he had to trim the countertop and cabinet frames to get the range to fit. Jenn Air also updated the downdraft system so he had to move and update the unit from three prongs to four prongs. I was very happy with the end result. A clean, new oven that allows me to cook with gas! Love it!

My primary frustration with this firm was the lack of information, an unwilingness to explain what was needed. They just seemed to want me to sign the dotted line and then get out of THEIR way. Neither this firm nor the applicance dealer communicated with me about delivery and installation dates at all. Finally, the service person did not clean up - I came home to a kitchen covered with sawdust and the scraps of his work. So, while capable, it was not easy or pleasant to deal with this firm.

They were very professional and easy to work with, also very knowledgeable. Any suggestions I gave, they took seriously. I have a very large kitchen, one-third larger than the size of a standard one, which required more cabinets to be refaced. They were not the lowest price, but the quality is excellent.

Purchased a DCS stove from Warner Stellian on 9/19/09. Installed by Appliance Specialties Inc on 9/30/09 but it is not working. D&T appliance can't come out until 10/6/09. Repairman thinks it is the regulator. They can't install the regulator until 10/20/09. Installation doesn't fix the problem. D&T appliance will send another repairman, but not until 10/27/09. Problem finally identified as lack of gas regulator in the gasline (installer's fault) Appliance Specialties came out the same day to finally repair the problem.

We decided on a more inexpensive countertop to replace the old '60's gold-flecked counters. We received three estimates (two for solid counters and one for laminate) and went with the laminate as this was just a small kitchen updating. Appliance Specialties provided an estimate promptly, had no problem with the shape of the old counter or that it was kind of jury rigged into the space initially (which had been concerns with other companies). They ripped out the old counter and disposed of it and had the new put in within the time frame we had discussed and the overall price was low (lowest of the bids including Menards). Only small complaint was the dust left by the installer which took a little time to clean up after. Good value, reliable service and very pleasant people.

The phone representative was very courteous and helpful in scheduling the work. The installer was on time and took care to protect the existing cabinetry, stove top, and countertop. However, the taping on the duct joints was incomplete and leaked air into the cabinet above the range hood. I put on more tape after the job was done and now there is no air leak.

The workmen arrived on time and did a careful job of polishing our Corian counters. They also cleaned up really well when they were done.

Our cabinets needed some retrofitting in order to accommodate the size of the new appliances compared to the old ones. We didn't realize how expensive it was going to be until the work was done and we saw the invoice. We didn't imagine that installation would cost almost as much as the appliances! The finished installation was good with the exception of the paint match on the new panel and drawer which needed to be built. They told us that the supplier s materials did the match. The first time they brought them back they were mismatched because they said the supplier used the wrong side of the sample board. Then we waited another 8 days and they brought them back with an even worse match. The installer told us that the boss said they wouldn't try the match again and left it up to us. They did offer to spray them if we could get a match (We did get a beautiful match at the supplier s but had someone else spray them).

This is our second time using Appliance Specialties and we remain very satisfied with their work (we have the next job quoted already). We work with Danell via email, she arranged everything and is very prompt and professional. Their work is excellent quality, no seams, everything was measured perfectly, (As was their last job $6K granite counters). The installers do a great job cleaning up as well. Warners Stellian recommended them to us originally.

TOOK 3 PHONE CALLS & 4 WEEKS TO GET A RESPONSE, BUT ON 3RD CALL WAS PUT IN CONTACT WITH SOMEONE IMMEDIATLY AFTER I TOLD RECEPTIONIST HAD BEEN 4 WKS SINCE 1ST CALL. WORK WAS DONE A WEEK LATER. WORK WAS OK, EDGES OF CABINET NOT STRAIGHT. WOULD HAVE PAID MORE FOR A BETTER JOB.

THE FIRST THING OUT OF THEIR MOUTH WHEN THEY ENTERED WAS ''OH A'' STRING OF CUSS WORDS ''SUB-ZERO''. I SHOULD HAVE SENT THEM HOME THEN. THEY DIDN'T CHECK GAS CONNECTIONS WITH SOAPY WATER, TWICE WHEN HOLES WERE NEEDED IN THE SHEETROCK THEY USED A HAMMER TO BASH A HOLE IN INSTEAD OF A SHEETROCK SAW. DIDN'T INSTALL ANTI-TIP BRACKETS FOR FRIG OR RANGE. THEY HAMMERED A HOLE IN SHEETROCK FOR THE REGULATOR ON THE RANGE AND THE HOLE WAS INTO A HVAC RETURN WHICH HAD TO BE REPAIRED. THEY LEFT THE KITCHEN A MESS WITH PARTS AND ACCESSORIES FOR A VARIETY OF APPLIANCES SCATTERED ALL OVER. THIS WAS VERY SURPRISING GIVEN THE POLITENESS AND PROFESSIONALISM OF THE FOLKS I'D TALKED TO ON THE PHONE.

OVERALL, A SIMPLE, HASSLE-FREE INSTALLATION OF A DISHWASHER. PRICE WAS FAIR. INSTALLER WAS PROFESSIONAL AND POLITE. ONLY DOWNSIDE WAS INSTALLER WAS 15 MINUTES LATE ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE TIMEFRAME THEY HAD GIVEN ME, WHICH WAS STRESSFUL AS I HAD TO GET TO WORK. OTHER THAN THAT A GOOD EXPERIENCE. WOULD USE TO DO OTHER JOBS INCLUDING INSTALLATION OF COUNTER,TOP.

DURING THE INSTALLATION THE COMPANY DAMAGED THE ELECTRICAL WIRING TO OUR HOT WATER BOILER IN THE BASEMENT, NECESSITATING AN EMERGENCY BOILER REPAIR ON A NIGHT WHEN TEMPERATURES DROPPED BELOW FREEZING. THE COMPANY SUBSEQUENTLY REFUSED TO REIMBURSE US FOR THE REPAIR. WE FILED A BBB COMPLAINT ON 10/12/01. WE ALSO FOUND THEIR EMPLOYEES TO BE UNFRIENDLY AND RUDE WHILE PERFORMING THE ORIGINAL WORK.

"THE MEMBER CONTACTED US THREE MONTHS AFTER THE INSTALL. HIS EMERGENCY CALL WAS THREE MONTHS AFTER WE HAD WORKED IN HIS HOUSE. OTHERS WERE WORKING IN THE HOUSE AS WELL. THE CAUSE OF THE DAMAGE TO HIS WIRING WAS UNKNOWN! OUR RATING WITH THE BBB IS EXCELLENT! THE CLAIM OF BEING UNFRIENDLY AND RUDE ARE USALLY ADDED AFTER THE FACT TO TRY AND WORSEN A CLAIM!"
