He completed the work in less than 24 hours and did a great job! There was handstitching involved, and it closely matches the other sandal. I was very pleased, and took a second pair in to get new heels.

I had the desired length marked with a paper clip, and he immediately knew how to do it, and finished the job in about 2 minutes while I waited. Now it fits me perfectly and you cannot even see the seam. His shop in an old storefront is cluttered with a lot of stuff, including interesting antique sewing machines, so don't expect anything fancy. But Ray is very friendly and does seem to know his trade.
