They did a great job. They were on time and on budget. They came back the following spring and replaced some shrubs that didn't survive, relay mulch, and do some trimming free of charge.

A-1 Maintenance, is not telling the truth. The BBB closed the dispute without bias, which is normal procedure when two parties can't agree. He didn't buy me a hose and sprinkler. At the time I had lived there 15 years, I had that equipment. My water bill in 3 months for a 40X40 lot with one person living there was over $100.00, possibly due to a lot of watering? My normal water bill is approximately $26.00. Jon Nelson, never told me that the trees, (which are my neighbors) would be a problem. I do think that is his job as a landscaper though. If he had told me the trees might cause a problem, why did he not change the contract to say he wouldn't replace the sod on the east side of the house? Of course I suppose when you aren't going to honor the contract, it doesn't matter what it says. Lastly, Jon knew I was dissatisfied with his work. I left him a note with the last payment, telling him I had never worked with anyone that took less pride in his work.

"This issue has already been reviewed by the Better Business Bureau. The BBB relies on the facts of the case and not hearsay. The BBB closed the file because it was not a legitimate case. We have also already offered the member a solution; this was to prune the trees at an additional cost. The member chose not to take the solution. The member hires A-1 Maintenance Inc to install sod in a designated area and shrubs. When the member requested to have the sod installed on the east side of her house, I mentioned the shade from the trees could hinder the growth of new sod. The member chose to go forward with it. Five days after the work was complete, I came out to check on the sod. It was 80 degrees plus, the new sod had not been watered, and she didn't even have a hose or sprinkler. I purchased a hose and sprinkler, ran water on the new sod and did not charge her for it. I called her to let her know to be diligent about maintaining the new sod. The member also has a large German Shepard that has caused damage to the turf as well. I didn't hear from the member until the next year, and she seemed to be satisfied. Then she call regarding the sod and dead shrub. I responded immediately and replaced the shrub. The sod on the east side of the house is failing due to the member's unwillingness to prune the tress to allow proper sunlight. Jon Nelson, Owner, A-1 Maintenance Inc."

I REALLY ENJOYED WORKING WITH JON AND HIS EMPLOYEES OVERALL. JON WAS PROMPT TO GET US AN ESTIMATE AND AT GETTING THE JOB DONE. THE FINISHED PRODUCT TURNED OUT VERY NICE. WHEN THERE WAS ONE PART OF THE JOB THAT I WASN'T HAPPY ABOUT, HE RETURNED WITH HIS TEAM AND COMPLETED IT TO MY SATISFACTION. I DID GET FRUSTRATED FOR A SHORT TIME (2 DAYS) WHEN HE DID NOT SHOW UP WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD, AND DID NOT CALL TO SAY HE WOULDN'T BE MAKING IT; AND AGAIN WHEN I LEFT HIM A MESSAGE AND HE DID NOT RETURN MY CALL SO THE NEXT DAY I HAD TO TRACK HIM DOWN. HE ALSO SAYS THAT HE WILL STOP OUT NEXT SPRING TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERYTHING IS WORKING THE WAY IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE. HE SEEMS TO HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE AND THE EQUIPMENT TO COMPLETE THIS KIND OF JOB SUCCESSFULLY.
