My old computer died and, since I had used them for service once before,
I went to Strike Twice to see about getting a replacement and having
them salvage and transfer my data from the old harddrive to the new
machine. The refurbished Dell, the new monitor and the data transfer
were all done for a reasonable cost and in a very timely manner.

Brought my home desktop computer in because it basically would not start on me. They told me they would do an extended analysis. It turns out it was bad video card. They replaced it as predicted and now it works fine. Very prompt, professional and friendly.

Awesome! I had previously had bad experiences with Hewlitt Packard customer service and Geek Squad - both telling me that if the fan was moving it wasn't the fan that was the issue and Geek Squad told me they couldn't even install an internal wireless card on my type of computer. When I took it to Second Strike, he started working on it immediately while I was there, told me it would be tricky but he could do both, had the parts in stock and completed all the work in 45 minutes! I'll never take a computer issue anywhere else.

ST replaced the hard disk ($99) ,restored all my personal files, and brought everything back to good working order. All the work was done at their site over a 48 hour period. They were professional at all times and let me watch while the problem was diagnosed.

I was very pleased with the work of Keith and his team. They took their time to figure out what was the root cause of the problems with both of my computers and then detailed my options to correct the situations. I am somewhat hands on with my computer so I especially appreciated their advice on a simple fix I could try myself. Keith was very open about the costs (time and material) of different options. One other thing that I particularly liked about Strike Twice is that they really enjoy working with computers. Their enthusiasm and depth of knowledge about computer technology was impressive. Keith is a contributing writer to a book titled How Computers Work. This is just the type of people I want to work with my computers after several bad experiences with technicians from the big box retailers who are far more interested in up selling than repairs I needed. Between my family and business, I own four computers and I no longer have to worry about what to do when a problem arises.

My 3 year old Gateway Laptop was running VERY slow and the battery cord connection was loose so I would have to manipulate the cord to get the battery to charge. I was disappointed to find out the repair for the cord outlet would be about 300.00 and I would have to have it sent out to do it. We also discussed cleaning up my laptop and found I was out of memory. So by the time I did the repairs, purchased some memory and did a tune up I didn't really feel it was worth it for this Laptop. I discussed in length my options and decided the easiest thing to do for what I needed was to purchase one of their refurbished computers. I have a HP, so everything was transfered from my laptop and I love it! I was happy with my experience and probably would not have ended up at Strike Twice if it wasn't for Angie's List.

Very good. Keith arrived on time, was personable and professional. He asked a few preliminary questions about my concerns (slow responses and extraneous programs that had crept into the computer) then went right to work to make things right. Today I can see a marked difference in the speed I'm operating on.

We got off to a rocky start, but had a good outcome. When I brought my laptop into the shop, the owner took the time to try to diagnose the problem (with no success). When I got the refurbished laptop to my home, it would not connect with my home wireless network (which works with other laptops). First I called my ISP, after an hour with no success, they recommended that I call Strike Twice. Keith (the owner) responded so combatively and rude that I wanted to return the computer on the spot, despite the restock fee. He accused me of being "skiddish, cynical, and persnickety". However, I did bring the computer back in, and Keith went out of his way to try to figure out the problem. Ultimately, he came to my home, free of charge, to try to solve the problem. Keith went above and beyond to rectify the situation, but it could have been avoided altogether.

"THIS MEMBER WAS PLEASANT TO WORK WITH BUT, BEING FROM CALIFORNIA AND AN ENGINEER BY TRAINING, HER QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS WERE NUMEROUS WHERE I DID CALL HER "CYNICAL." THE WIRELESS CARD IN THE USED LAPTOP SHE PURCHASED FROM US WORKED EVERYWHERE BUT WITH THE QWEST DSL MODEM IN HER OWN HOME. I PERSONALLY SPENT 2 HOURS, FREE OF CHARGE, TO GO TO HER HOME AND REMEDY THE SITUATION BUT TO NO AVAIL. WORKING WITH COMPUTERS ALL DAY IS FRUSTRATING FOR MY STAFF AND I, AND I MIGHT HAVE VENTED A BIT OF THAT FRUSTRATION TO THIS MEMBER. MY APOLOGIES BUT WE'RE GLAD TO GET A GOOD REVIEW NONETHELESS."

First I telephoned Keith to learn more about the services offered by Strike Twice. He took the time to explain his approach and pricing structure. I took my PC in on a Wednesday morning and I was able to pick it up Thursday evening (he stayed passed business hours to accommodate me). He actually showed me what the problems were and then proceeded to demonstrate that all the bugs had been fixed. He even cleaned the inside of the box and showed me how dust was building up on the fan. Our PC has never worked better! His pricing was much more resonable than the previous in-home service we used. Keith and his staff are kind, helpful and patient with customers like me who are not very technically savy.

They diagnosed the problem quickly and gave me accurate information on how much it would cost to repair. They did the work quickly and were honest - they did not take advantage of my lack of knowledge. They have also assisted me by phone since then and are great to work with.

For all that I was offered, was very impressed with the cost. I did have a coupon from one of the magazines for his service, but even without it would have felt, that I got my money's worth. Very appreciative of his service and would definitely use this again if needed.
