The dishwasher installer took one look at the existing dishwasher, flooring, and cabinets and told us he could not install the new dishwasher. I called several contractors to remove the flooring in front of the dishwasher without success. One tile sales company suggested I call Northern Star Construction. I contacted Tom Carluccio and he said they would do the whole job. He brought one of his skilled workmen to get the old dishwasher out. Even after removing the floor, there was only about 1/8'' clearance with counter top. Somehow they got the old dishwasher out and installed the new one. The installation was even more difficult because the old plumbing was not compatible with the new hose connections. These guys took every problem in stride and came up with solutions on the fly. After installing the new dishwasher they replaced the floor and tile. It turns out that Northern Star employees are experienced in all aspects of remodeling and specialize in small jobs.
