STONE CRAFTERS

We went through the process of going to multiple granite fabricators and have them all quote us out for 3 different types of Granite. (1 weeks worth of work) Stone Crafters did my parents kitchen and did a great job and they didn't have any issues with them and my parents loved working with them. They were not the cheapest but were one of the lower quotes we got for the job. We decided to move forward with them and told the other Granite fabricators that we moved forward with someone else. Once we finalized on the Granite selection and told Stone Crafters to go ahead and order the 2 sheets up we got an updated quote via email that was $1,600 higher than their first quote with no explanation. I sent them an email and told them they could correct the change and we would move forward with them. (I never heard from them again) Needles to say I felt baited with a lower initial quote and went with another install.

The employees of Stone Crafters were an absolute pleasure to work with. They were responsive to our questions regarding granite and quartz products, they provided a highly competitive quote, and the installation process couldn't have gone any smoother. The counters look great! I would highly recommend this company for your counter top needs.

After collecting bids from several Twin Cities metro area contractors we decided to go with Stone Crafters because their bid was generally lower than the others, even though they are based in St Cloud, about 75 miles away. A friend of ours also had some work done by them in the past, and was very pleased with them, so that was a strong point in their favor too. Our dealings with Stone Crafters over the phone were pleasant and professional. We also ordered a new stainless steel sink through their recommended supplier. The installation was very fast and professional. The installers did a wonderful job and the seams between the granite slabs are barely visible. The only problem was with the new under-mount sink; the garbage disposal mount, drain flange and strainers did not come with the sink. Stone Crafters told us that sometimes suppliers leave these items out, but we did not know this beforehand. We deducted the cost of these parts from the bill and Stone Crafters was fine with that.

WE GOT BIDS FROM 4 DIFFERENT PLACES AS THIS WAS A LARGE JOB: 66 SQ. FT. STONECRAFTERS PRICE WAS AT THE LOW END. THE JOB WAS DONE WELL AS THEY HAD TO LEVEL OUT WAVES AND SLOPING AREAS FROM THE ORIGINAL BUILDER. THEY DID THIS WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. TWO COMPLAINTS: THEY DID NOT ALWAYS RETURN PHONE CALLS IN A TIMELY MANNER AND THEY ADDED CHARGES FOR OUTLET CUTOUTS THAT WERE NOT NOTED ON THE ORIGINAL BID ($50/EACH). CHARGING FOR THIS IS FINE, BUT THERE WAS NO MENTION OF THE POSSIBILITY OF THESE ADDITIONAL CHARGES. THEY HAD THE BEST PRICE ON A PREMIUM SS SINK, SO WE BOUGHT IT THROUGH THEM.
