They are terrible.  They didn't do anything about it.  The person who actually replaced the water heater was very kind.  At that point, I didn't know the cost.  They didn't give me any kind of estimate.  They just said they would come and replace the water heater.  They tried to talk to me into $3000 worth water heater.  I said I wanted a regular water heater.  I was happy with the product.  There was nothing itemized on the bill.  They said that's what it cost to replace a water heater.  I asked for an itemized bill to know the cost of the labor and the parts.  The guy left the bill with me and I called the owner.  He demanded a check.  The workmanship was good.  I can't complain about the product.  They were quick to drop here.

I will never call a repair company without checking reviews!  This company OVER CHARGES.  I hired Fred's to replace a water heater. The young man who came to my house was kind and seemed trustworthy.  He explained the gas water heater was ten years old - and sadly that's about all you get out of them. So, he recommended replacing the unit.  I looked on line and they cost about 800.  He said I could buy my own, or they could buy one.  (They could get the better deal, yeah right.)  The work was done within three days- and yes, we have hot water.  I am not unimpressed with their work.  I am outraged however, with their prices. 
I almost fainted when I received  the bill.  It's a flat $1600!  It did not have labor or costs broken down. I called the owner (out of Little Falls) and he was rude.  He said he'd be down to collect the check.  I am newly divorced and learned a tough life lesson.  One, get estimates IN WRITING.  There is no question in my mind that they ripped me off.  They also quickly noticed that they could clean my ducts . . . I asked 'how much'  guess their estimate - $3000! This happened a little over a year ago - but I just joined Angie's List today - and this is my first review.  DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.  They OVER CHARGE for everything.

Our new modular home arrived with all plumbing stubbed through the main floor.  Fred's Plumbing went into action running the pluming from each fixture and attaching everything to the sewer connection. Furthermore they connected the water lines, a sump pump and installed an off peak demand water heater.  In addition they ran gas lines to the stove, fireplace and furnace and converted each gas appliance to run on propane.  Everything was installed expertly and expeditiously.

After they completed the project in October we left for Arizona and did not know all of their repairs were still broken over the winter months. It all started when an outside faucet that had not been used for a while was used by a pressure washing company. I had to move quickly. I called Fred's Plumbing. They came and cut a whole in the outside of the house then just covered it back up with the siding when the faucet was repaired. No insulation was used or anything. The faucet is fixed but there is a hole in my house! They also looked at a bathroom faucet. They said they installed a washer but it still leaks. They also said they put a stem in the faucet in my downstairs bathroom. A master plumber later came out and checked it. He said that it was not done. They installed a handheld adapter for the tub spout and they put it on the side wall instead of where the regular shower head goes. They charged me for two hours and 45 minutes of work time and were only here for one hour and 45 minutes.

They guys were real courteous, professional and very nice. They did real good work. We did have one little problem underneath the sink so we called them back. They came back out the next day and replaced a couple of the parts. Their price was a little high, but they did install the top of the line faucet.
