The entire process was a fiasco. Mike and his team built our deck without checking the ledger board or apparently using a level. Our deck started to sag in the middle and we called his team out to look at it. They did a quick fix which did not resolve the issue. We called Mike and had a brief discussion, and he told us, "I don't know what to tell you". He then hung up on us. We eventually got him to come back out. He had an attitude the entire time. His crew admitted to not checking the ledger board. Our deck is lower on one end and has several areas of buckling. Mike had nothing but excuses. One of his team members offered a solution. They worked on it and left without asking for feedback. Mike never followed up. The deck is still out of whack and we are not satisfied. They also don't use hidden fasteners so there are holes in our no maintenance decking. Mike was completely rude and unprofessional. They built our deck wrong and he made us, the customer, feel like the bad people. His crew also took the dirt from the footings and threw it under our arborvitae bushes. I had to dig it all out by hand. There are a lot of deck builders. Do you research. I wish we had.

The work was performed well but after the winter there was a chip out of one board. He said he would fix it at the end of the season but after numerous reminders, it has not been fixed.

The work was done very professionally. The 2 man crew were very pleasant to work with and completed the job on time. The new deck looks great.

Mike did a great Job. There was an issue with the water barrier I called Mike he came the next and did an excellent repair.

I call Custom Home and Morty was out the same day. He assured me that it can be fixed and was very helpful. We scheduled the job over for weekend. It's was completed on time. We're so happy to finally have our floor in!

We are extremely pleased with the deck that Mike and his crew built. It took some persistence to get in touch with him initially, but we are happy we did. As we learned later, when Mike's on a job site, his priority is on the job, not stopping work to take phone calls - a good thing actually. He uses a high quality deck material and his pricing was very competitive with the other three bids we obtained. We really appreciated Mike's work ethic. He and his crew showed up on time every morning and worked very hard all day taking a break only for lunch. All of our questions and concerns were addressed completely and in a professional manner. Mike made some good suggestions on ways to improve our initial deck plans without increasing the cost . Site cleanup upon completion was thorough. We would recommend this company without reservation for any deck projects you may have.

We were referred to Custom Home Specailties at a local home show. The company has a long hsitory in the Eagan and Rosemount areas. Mike took note of our deck design goals and out time/budget constraints, then developed a simple but attractive deck design that met those goals and constraints. We were quite pleased with his responsiveness, attention to detail, and clear communication about what to expect during each phase of the project.
