"I’m sorry we weren’t able to come to an agreement during our follow-up calls after the service. You had agreed to the terms, both financially and in writing for 3 hours of work and 3 items assessed with one repaired, before we completed the work. We're happy that our efforts helped save you a few thousand dollars in replacement costs for the item we repaired, and we hope that one day you’ll feel the value in the payment made."
"Yesterday may have been national hug a plumber day, but here is a prime example of how service industry men and women are not appreciated. When a lawyer tells you they charge $300 an hour nobody bats an eye. That's just what they cost. But when a service professional who has come to your home to fix something of luxury to many people and tells you a price that equates to about $100 an hour and includes parts, the average middle and upper class entitled American looses their mind! First off nobody ever thinks about the cost to keep a company going in any fashion, vehicle loans and maintenance, insurance for the vehicle, gas for the vehicle, insurance for the company and person in your home (in case you decide to be sue happy as most Americans have become) health insurance to keep the service person workable, licenses for every individual plus the company's overall licensing, plus the team of people backing that person up. And that's the bare minimum a company has to pay out as part of your small service call costs. That doesn't include any extra over head costs that any company may have to spend like advertising to show you that we are out there as an option for your needs. If you see us on websites or accreditation sites .. those aren't free to companies on there .. they charge us to make up for not charging you!! So when you ask a professional accredited service company to your home your not just getting that one person there and their one vehicle you are getting a team of people in the background that has spent time and money to get there .. just to be told no .. I can get it cheaper .. then please do us a favor and do your research better and find that cheaper guy who is a one man show who will probably not fix it right the first time and end up costing you more in the long run and won't back his work. Those guys aren't listed on these websites trying to make a proper name for themselves. Lastly no sir you were not charged or even asked to pay a lawyers rate of $300 as you quoted. You were asked to pay a price that did include labor and Parts (plus all of that background stuff that got us there to your place) and you wasted half our day because you like every entitled American wanted something for nothing when we could have been making a living for our families too and a below reasonable market price as it is. And if any plumber were to keep every possible part on their person for every possible job we would run across we would be carting around a 10k sqft warehouse with us. (Who's gonna pay for that?) Most reputable plumbers now are on fixed rate pricing for repairs, and include parts labor and all the additives that go into it. Including when customers reschedule 3 times and the background staff has to coordinate that every time .. how are they getting paid out of your unpaid service call? So in closing please consider what actually goes into getting any service company out to you before making that phone call and then throwing them out of your home because they dared to charge you for what you wanted done."
