Garage Door Technologies was among three companies I was referred to for the installation of a new garage door.  GDT was the most competitive of the quotes I got and their quote did not include a lot of add-ons for extras (door decorative hardware, etc.) It was easy to get in touch with GDT and Dave set up a time to do the install as soon as the special order door was delivered to a local DIY store.  He and his team removed our old door, installed the new one, consulted us on how we wanted the decorative hardware be placed, and took the old door away.  The new door works great and looks great!  I'd use GDT again without hesitation. 

Was referred to this company by the local DIY store service desk. Called him and 3 other referrals given, initial quote was very competitive and Dave appeared very professional. There were some challenges with the ceiling height and he instructed us on the additional items to purchase at the local DIY. Problems began to arise when he changed the 1st install date on me and then never showed for the second. I should have taken that as a sign. Ultimately, he showed and installed the door in a single day, but needed to up charge me for some extra materials. It was a nominal $50, so it did not bother me. Additionally, there were some missing materials that DIY stores neglected to have me order. Dave said he would come back and finish the install of these parts once they arrived at the DIY store. Additionally, we were not happy about how well the door operated. Dave said the door could use heavier springs and he would re-install those when the other materials came in. He actually said to me that referrals are what his business is built on and he wanted to make sure the job was done right. Once the materials arrived at the DIY store, I called to schedule the follow-up appointment. We scheduled a day and then he cancelled. Then another a he didn’t show. He never returned any subsequent calls or texts. Finally I call the service desk at the local DIY store and explained my frustration. Especially, since they referred him.  The desk manager knew him and personally called him on my behalf to see if the situation could be resolved. She called me back stating that he would get a hold of me, which he never did. Ultimately, I ended up paying another person to come out and completely re-do the job. The company handled this situation very unprofessionally. I would encourage anyone to NOT USE this company.

Called Dave to ask about getting my torsion springs in my garage door replaced as one had broken and my door would not operate. He gave me his price and said he would call me 1/2 hour prior to his arrival so I could drive home from work to meet him. I received a call 1/2 hour later and left the office to meet him. He arrived within 5 minutes after I got home. He performed the work quickly and asked me to come out to inspect. He said he had lubricated the rollers and also checked out and lubed the other, smaller garage door to make sure all was well. The bill was exactly as quoted - he had given me a $30 Angie's List discount. 

Dave is honest and does good work. He keeps to his word on price and is prompt. You may be able to get it done for a few bucks less, but if integrity and service mean a lot to you, call Dave!

The springs on our garage door gave out on Sunday which made it very difficult to access the garage as we have no service door.  A neighbor had recommended Garage Door Technologies and we called about 7:30 AM on Monday.  David Olsen said he could get us on his schedule at 11 AM but he arrived about 30 minutes earlier which was great since I needed go into work later in the day. The problem was fixed in under an hour and he also found that the screws were stripped on the track of our opener so he told us how we could fix this ourselves which would save over $100.

David did a great job. He picked up the garage door from Menards and did a superb job installing the door and opener. Would highly recommend his services.

Went very well. David was on time and did a very professional job. The day I was supposed to meet him to get an estimate, I had to leave town in the early am for a family emergency. I couldn't get back home to meet David and didn't have his number with me. Fortunately he called me that morning to say he was on his way, and I was able to stop him from a wasted trip. He was very understanding, and I was able to reschedule our meeting later that week. Hadn't scheduled the opener to be replaced, but it was 20 years old. David said that was twice as old as the average life of one. Since there was no way to tell how much life was left in it, I decided to have him add a new one to the order on the day of installation, rather that delay the inevitable.
