They were outstanding. They were exceptional with cleaning up after them selves each day. They also kept me informed every step of the way. They were timely and the work was of very high quality.

It took two days instead of one to complete the job (I expected more people to show up - only 3 were there the first day).  They did the house the first day and the garage the second.

Day two - only the owner showed up at first. His other guys called in sick. His wife showed up to help about 9:30. I also went out to help strip the shingles off the garage to help move them along because I wanted them to be done that day.

This is where the problems start - there was an accident. The owner seemed more concerned with how the injury would affect his schedule than how badly the individual was hurt.

My neighbors complained about the amount of loud discussions and swearing that went on the two days they were on site.

We discussed the application of WinterGuard. I THINK it was applied to the house (I didn't stand there and watch, so I am not sure how much - for my house with the long eaves, by code, there needs to be at least 5').  None was applied to the garage (which, I am pretty sure, is also code).

There was no kick-out flashing installed on the garage roof to direct the rain away from the house siding and into the gutter.

The facia was too short (something the owner pointed out), but he didn't add any flashing to correct it, which is part of the gutter failure (more gutter issued described below).

There is a foot or more of raw wood facia showing in one section - it should have been covered with flashing or metal shingles.

The shingling around the chimney was described as another respected contractor as 'a hack'.

The other contractors I talked to said they would have installed a ridge vent (or some sort of vents) on my garage, as well as the house. There were none installed on mine.

The shingles were done on a Mon and Tue. The gutter installer didn't show until Sunday. In between those days, we had a large, heavy rain and I ended up with water in my basement, which forced me to rip out some carpet and a pad, which will require me to spend some money to get it fixed.

A month later, I am still finding pieces of shingles, nails and other roof trash from the job in my yard and driveway.

The gutters..... were installed by a sub-contractor.  They have many issues -
- the downspouts are too small (I asked for 3"x4" and I got 2" x 4")
- the 'hinge' that was created in one of them to the runout at the base of the house is a 'hack', at best
- the runout spouts are too short and one is so close to the house that the water pools near the house
- the gutters are hung too low, so the water runs down the roof, BEHIND the gutter, into the facia, along the soffit and is coming out partway down the house wall from BEHIND my siding
- the gutters aren't hung with the right slant - two of them have standing water, even on a semi-dry day

And, to top it all off - the roofer would not answer his phone when I called or return my calls or text messages. His wife would call me and say he was coming, but he only APARENTLY showed up when I was at work.

I was prepared to work with him to get things resolved, but ran out of time and patience when my calls weren't returned within 10 days. We didn't get decent rain until early Sep, so I wasn't able to see all the problems until then. I spent a few days getting 'second opinions' and then tried contacting them. I waited for over a week and never heard from the owner - only his wife.

I have given up on this company and have other licensed contractors lined up to fix all the issues because winter weather is not far off and I need this done before the snow flies.
