Wanda Hofstad was amazing. She helped my husband and I pick out tile for a bathroom and was extremely patient while I changed my mind and color scheme more than once. We love the stock tile we ended up with. I ordered more after the fact and somehow realized I had the wrong shade after I had brought 10 boxes into the house. They went out of their way to deliver the correct color. This saved me a huge headache because the installer was here and needed the tile asap. They provided multiple bids on granite countertops, offering a variety of stones and the option to use a remnant for the center island, saving us a lot of money over the 3 other companies we had bids with. The guys in the granite shoppe were very knowledgable helpful. I love the job they did for us!

To our surprise, the carpet installers complained to us about their  dislike of the company and mostly of the owners.

Installers damaged majority of the oak  trim throughout my home by the carpet installation. When I asked for someone to come see the damaged trim the owner, Sarah, became angry and personally insulted me and told me not to return to her store.

  1. 1. From the beginning we could not get a straight-up quote from them.  After multiple iterations, their quotes were illogical and I could not trust what was included.  They would not even provide us with a quote for the laminate both installed and uninstalled.
  2. 2. They came out to take all the measurements themselves.  When we decided to install the laminate ourselves, based on their measurements, we had 7+ boxes left over (they admitted they typically account for having 2 boxes left over) yet they would not let us return them.
  3. 3. Carpeting was installed nicely.
  4. 4. Duraceramic tile was laid down in an obvious "pattern" with all the dark sides of the tiles lining up.  I've never seen tile pieces lined up so all one color is on the same side.
  5. 5. One of the tiles was installed with a very noticeable flaw.  They said they ran out of tile so had to lay it down.  I did get them to order more and come back to replace it.

I had to leave and pointed out what I needed done. Also had to ask him to remove the loose grout and calking. When I returned only part of it was done.
I ended getting some grout, tools and finishing the job.

I am posting this review that other people can benefit from our experience.  We had our kitchen floor and counters replaced over a two-week period during which we were on vacation.  When we came home, we were thrilled that the project was finished, or so we thought.  We had to have them come back to finish fitting in the floor vents, which had been left loose on the floor and to trim and glue carpeting in place that had been pulled back.  Small stuff, we thought.  Then things went downhill.  We began to notice that there were problems.  The floor is not level.  (To save money, we committed to removing the old floor, which turned out to be more than we were able to accomplish.  Probably twenty percent of the old floor remained to be removed.)  We paid an additional $900 for this unexpected work.  Our fault on that.  No complaint on our part.  After several days, we began to notice other shortcomings. The cabinets had had to be removed to install the granite, but the guys who did the reinstall obviously rushed through the work, covering gaps between the wall and cabinet with improvised and odd pieces of wood.  Then we noticed that the backsplash tiles were curiously missing from behind the stove, leaving obvious spots where the old sheetrock was exposed.  On one side of the stove, the tile backsplash had been put in place, on the other side it had not.  We noticed that there is a crack in the countertop.  This is a bigger problem.  We don't want to replace the countertop, which would entail another big tear out.  We decided to live with it.  After all, we can't be sure that another piece of granite would match the pieces already there.  And then there are the gaps between the stone floor and the wood floor against which it butts.  That was easy to fix.  They squirted some caulk into the gap.  We can live with that, we said.  Before we agreed to have the Tile Superstore do the work, we got a commitment from Mr. Prigge that the installers would put up plastic barriers to minimize the dust getting into the rest of the house.  Our cleaning lady was a bit horrified when she arrived to tidy up before we got home.  It took her 24 hours to get a handle on the mess.  The plumber who removed and reinstalled the appliances also said he was surprised by the mess.  Finally, a neighbor who was picking up our mail while we were gone also claimed that the installers had not taken precautions.  When asked about this issue, we were told by Tile Superstore that all the cutting was done in the attached garage so they did not put up barriers.  On this point there is come  obfuscation on the part of the store.  I've been told that the barriers were not necessary, but three separate people who were in and out of the house while we were gone stated the opposite.  This seems a simple precaution.  Why would they not do it?  I have not gotten an answer to this simple question.  The response (or lack of response) has been cavalier.  Perhaps an apology on their part and an acknowledgement of their failure would make a difference, but perhaps their track record on this is to deny that there is a problem.  Finally, we will be doing more floor work, but we will not be doing business with Tile Superstore.

It was good. The salesperson, Wanda was great. She was very helpful. We had to have something redone but they came back and fixed what we weren't happy with. They were very responsive.

This business was awesome...After stopping by 5-6 other places trying to figure out what to do with my kitchen, Tile Superstore volunteered to come out to do a free estimate and while at my home, after seeing my kitchen cabinets, said they had the perfect granite counter top for my kitchen.  And they were right.  It turned out beautifully.

They were wonderful helping me choose a piece of granite, ordered it special, redesigned the shape of our countertop and installed the granite.  They were punctual, very friendly and cleaned things up after they finished.  I plan to use them again for the bathroom remodel.

We ordered from them and two batches of tile showed up chipped and they did get new tile delivered but they did not offer any discounts at all. They were friendly about the situation but they were just not willing to completely satisfy their customer for the trouble. We never did get a chip free batch, so we just had to pick and choose the good tiles out of each batch.

The service was very good. They did have a delay with the work but otherwise everything was good. The granite appears to be good quality and still looks like new.

Edging was poorly done and we were asked to complete the final finishing of the seams.  Six months after the install the seams cracked and separated.  We were told that we needed to contact the cabinet maker to ascertain how to keep the cabinets from moving - as it was a wood problem not a granite problem.  I felt this to be an unrealistic and unworkable solution.  We ultimately contact a second contractor, DeGeus Tile and Granit, that proved a permanent fix to the tops for less than $100.

Response from Tile Superstore & more
"This project was done in 2010. In fabrication of natural stone edging is subject to stone limitations and discretion. Meaning some stones have more pits or veining and then one person can look or feel an edge and say they don't think it looks or feels smooth enough where as another person will look/feel and say it's perfect. Our edge work is done by hand by very skilled craftsmen and this is our first complaint regarding our edge work. We also do whatever we can to avoid or limit seaming. Seams move under the following conditions. If the stone is set up next to an outside wall (with our seasonal changes outside walls DO move - this is a very hard concept for some customers to understand) or if cabinets are not level and need excessive shimming. Our file shows these cabinets needed excessive shimming. In 2010 we used an epoxy seaming process. This requires some razor blade scraping once it has set up. It was wrong for us to ask the customer to do this scraping. Since then we have changed our seam process so scraping is no longer required. Also in 2010 we did not deal with cabinetry, now we do so we could be more help to a customer with cabinet issues although typically it is best to go back to the company where the cabinets were purchased. As we have been in the fabrication business since 1996 we are not sure what DeGeus Tile and Granite would have done for a PERMANENT solution. Unfortunately with this project we were not able to meet this customer's expectations but we sincerely care about our customer's satisfaction and pride ourselves on our quality of work and customer service."

I didn’t have issues with them.  They just do the work but they kind of give us advice on what will look the best and match the price.  I like the colors and textures.

The Tile Superstore has a large selection of carpet in a variety of types and price ranges. Their store is large and I was able to browse at my own pace. They offered to answer any questions I had, but did not follow me around the store, which I appreciated. Richard and Todd were excellent salespeople and provided good communication during the estimate process. They came out to measure the rooms promptly and scheduled the installation at our convenience, even though we had to re-schedule due to a delay in some other home improvements. The day of installation, the installers were a bit late, but they showed up ready to work and installed the new padding and carpet in both rooms extremely quickly. We are very happy with the results and would recommend the Tile Superstore to anyone.

We have purchased all of our tile as "do it yourselvers" got stuck, they cut the tile for us. We had them install other tile in the house, they are perfectionists but a bit on the slow side. Customer service has been excellent, we recommend Todd, he has bent over backwards to make us happy. We got carpet installed, great price, expert install, spend 3 months on numbers from Lowes, Home depot and added up all the little costs of stairs and carpet pad and strip extras and Tile Superstore came in cheaper!

They have an excellent power installer. They don't supply like mirrors, showers, etc. Even though they do not provide the products they do help in buying. They had other jobs too, we had to schedule the issues so they were not as responsive.
Response from Tile Superstore & more
"The [member name removed] were fantastic customers but their comment about delay's in the installation were because they wanted a specific installer who was already scheduled on a very large commercial project which was scheduled for months. The Lundberg's where told this up front but chose to wait. Had they not been specific about the installer there project would have been completed much sooner and very timely."
