Wish I could rate this a 0/5. Literally could not recommend this place LESS. Would like to start out by saying that the associate Chad who physically came out to help us, was very kind and helpful. Our car was stranded in a fast food restaurant parking lot overnight after the key broke off the fob in the ignition and we were unable to reprogram a new fob. Called Paul’s Lock & Key Shop for advice/availability as my sick grandfather was stuck at the hotel without his medications and needed to return home as soon as possible. Owner Jim answered the phone and immediately began to speak with hostility towards us, saying “are you going to shut up so I can talk?” and “I’m trying to do you a favor and if you don’t stop talking I’m not helping you” as my mom was trying to relay information from him to me so I could follow his instruction. He also cussed at us, saying “well maybe I should ******* talk to her then!” When my mom was explaining the situation to him. It made an already incredibly stressful day 1000x worse, and I never expected this kind of customer service in Rochester. Especially where 90% of visitors are likely having the worst day of their life and could be met with a small amount of kindness. You never know what someone is going through. Will not be using services again and certainly will not be recommending to others/will be warning those looking for appropriate service to look elsewhere. Very disappointing.

I called on Tuesday; they fit us in the next day.  The locksmith was 5 or 10 minutes late.  He apologized, went straight to work, and it took between 30-45 minutes start to finish.  We are very satisfied with their service.  He fixed many parts to the door lock too.  If I needed him again, I would call.  I thought it was a decent price.  The service was professionally done.

The job was completed in a couple of days.  The lock has worked well since the repair.  Cost was very reasonable considering a new lock would have been very hard to find as well as costly.

i locked my keys in car called pauls lock and key they said someone would be there in 45 min to an hour when the guy got there 15 min after i got off thephone with them he did not come to door or anything he unlocked the car and was in my glove box when i looked out window and saw him because my dog was going nuts i went right out as soon as he saw me he walkd to his truck and started writting a invoice

Keith, the locksmith that came to do the work we ordered, was prompt and professional.  He was even a bit early!  He had the work completed within 30 minutes, and was very friendly and good-natured with a sense of humor.  The price was right and the service was great.  We will definitely be using Paul's Lock & Key for any of our future needs regarding locks and keys.

They are very personable, and while trying to unlock my car were telling my funny stories to cheer me up!

The locksmith, Keith, was punctual and thorough.  It was a complex job in that there were 6-7 different lock types.  The work took ~3 hours, was done professionally and at a reasonable price for that much work.  We have used Paul's Lock and Key for several other projects of similar scope and have always been pleased with the quality of the work.
