The carpet cleaning was fine and the cost was OK, though in our family room there were some bugs left behind under the window.  But five months after the work and we paid the bill, they sent another bill. I think they were "fishing" for more money, hoping someone would forget they paid the bill and think "Oh no, didn't I pay that bill?" and pay it again. The second bill was for a different amount. Phone calls have gone unanswered and so have emails. I suspect something is not right with this company and I'll stear clear from them in the future.

They did really good work. They were quick and efficient. We haven't gotten the bill yet so we don't know how that is going to work out. The only issue we had was that we have an older home with plaster walls and they forgot they needed a special bit so the work was delayed. When they got the bit ordered it was defective. They should have anticipated that when they did the estimate. They saw the house and saw that it was plaster. They were very thorough and did a good job. They did a good job of cleaning up. We would probably use them again. They are not the worst contractor we have dealt with.

The men arrived within two hours of my original call. After soaking rains in the area, I considered that prompt. They immediately headed to the basement and went to work. After the work was in progress, they brought me a contract to fill out. I was not at my best that morning as I was re-living the year before when my basement was severely flooded with sewer back-up and the three months it took to get my life back in order plus the incredible expense. I was also ill that day with a virus that two days later became pneumonia. I had no idea how long they were going to be there. Mr. Brehmer told me they needed a $1000.00 security payment as that was my insurance deductible. The amount would also go toward cleaning and sanitizing the carpeting after it was relaid. He gave me the name of a carpet layer whom he recommended and the cost of that he could not estimate; it was not covered under his expenses. It was my understanding that the credit card information I gave them would be handled as a preauthorization, not as a charge until the final bill came in. When they sent me an un-itemized bill for $1048.00, which included the cleaning not yet done. I requested a complete break-down of charges. They sent me two bills, one included the eventual cleaning charge, the other just the work they had done. The final bill for this job with the cleaning jumped to $1856.00; without the cleaning $1542.83. Evidently they considered my asking for an itemized bill a justification for practically doubling it. They had already charged my Visa account $1000.00. I consider the whole thing an outrageous scam taking advantage of someone in desperate circumstances. I called my credit card company and I'm challenging the bill. I should add, although I'm reluctant to do so, that I am barely a "senior citizen." Mr. Brehmer kept calling me repeatedly "Dear." Also I kept hearing, "it's your demographic." Although my community is relatively affluent, my zip code is blue-collar, low income, ethnically diverse. Crazy.
