He's excellent. Butch is a friend and knows exactly what needs to be done because we've used him for a long time. I don't have to do a lot of detailed explaining. He's very good and has done a lot of work for us including refinishing our deck and other tasks around our home.

My children reported that he was very odd and made them feel uncomfortable. Not only that, all the lawn bags that he used were left in my drive way and sidewalk to my home and we could not get in either the garage or the home without moving all the bags left behind. They were then moved to the street where they belong so I could pay to have them removed. They should have been taken to the city area for composting - but instead they will most likely go to the dump in plastic bags. The schedule was also up to Bruce. He changed the dates as he pleased. He refused to process a refund - so I had to find something for him to do. He is very limited in what he will do. Most of the tasks I could do on my own - so they are not hard and any handyman should be able to do it if I can. Don't waste your time or money. And don't give him your cell number - I was being texted constantly during my workday, over and over and over - for no apparent reason.

I wish I had the words to tell you how incredibly impressed I am with Butch, my handyman. He personifies every fine quality one would hope for. He is kind, courteous, responsive, prompt, compassionate, an excellent worker, altogether a fine and talented man. He works fast and efficiently, and his results are exemplary. I am thoroughly delighted to have found him, and he will be my handyman for as long as I live here.

I wanted one particular bush trimmed, which Butch did. He asked about trimming a few others, and I agreed. There was a lot of debris left behind in my wood chip landscaping, even though he used dropped cloths. He insisted he needed lawn debris bags, so I went out and bought them - a waste f my time and money. I had three toilet seats replaced. The new hardware were nylon bolts, and all 3 seats were loosely installed. Butch asked if he could have the metal bolts from the old seats, and not knowing that the seats were not solidly installed I told him he could - I was not pleased after he left and the seats were all lloose. I had two pieces of crown moulding that needed to be reattached to the top of my cabinets. He attacked the first one with a hammer, and after spending a fair amount of time on it, leaving it quite damaged, he said he just couldn't doo it. I asked him to replace the front door bell, which he said he couldn't do as he had never done one before. I did it myself. I was going to have him put a light bead of caulk around my master bath, but after the moulding incident, I wasn't comfortable having him do that. I was getting my home ready to place on the market, so rather than saving myself time by hiring a "handyman", I ended up spending much more of my time cleaning up the tree debris, finding and installing toilet seat hardware, installing my own door bell, having the crown moulding repaired and installed, running out to a store to buy lawn debris bags I didn't need and doing my own caulking.
Butch can probably mow your lawn and trim your trees, but I couldn't recommend him beyond that. He seemed pretty uncertain bout what he could and could not do, and while he is a nice guy and all, he couldn't do most of what I had in mind for him.

"The work done for this person for the most part was done the way it should of been done. I may of done damage to the crown molding,but i found out that should of had a nail gun to put of the molding. I told her that should of had a nailer to do the job and she agreed to that.I didn't attack her molding i tried to put it up with a tack hammer,but i found out that wasn't going to work. Speaking on the debris and the toilet seats.When i do trimming of bushes or trees i don't leave a mess at all. I did have tarps down catching the clippings.After i took everything up i used my leaf blower to get things left behind. I even blew her yard,sidewalks,her porch and inside her garage too.I always leave things cleaner than than it was when i got there.Other people that i have worked for always say that i leave things cleaner than it was before i got there.About the toilet seats i never leave seats loose.When i see a loose seat i always tighten them up.I can do a lot of things that person don't even know about.I can do more things other than mowing and tree trimming.When i do work for other people i do it like i would do it at my one residence. I don't do shabby work for anyone."

"The reason i didn't do the work is that i didn't want to mess up your door. I am not a door installer and i don't do work skylights either. Each handyman has there own types of work that they do. If i had instructions how to install it i could've done it. He had it all in a plastic bag all mixed together. Which i don't do things like that for job's. The review that you gave me wasn't something that was called for on your part. I didn't deserve that low of a review."

He was here from about 8:00am - 1:00pm, with a short break in between. He cleaned out my gutters, he helped me use chain link fence around my garden, he trimmed a tree in the front of my house. Then, he had to leave when the four hours were up due to another appointment, but came back once done there to install a light switch. He did an excellent job on all accounts. I was so impressed with his work that I gave him a $50 bonus.

Butch came right on time and worked very hard for 4 hours fixing many small but hard jobs. We thought our front door lock was busted but Butch showed us that the door was not aligned properly. He fixed the alignment and now the door and the lock work perfectly. I would call on Butch again for any jobs around my house.
In a separate visit Butch fixed some brickwork on the outside of my house. He did a great job and only charged me for 1 hour of labor.

The description stated everything from minor plumbing and electrical work to shelving and drywall repair. The Handyman only had skills for 1 of 5 of my original list so the value of this deal purchase was limited. He stated that:
(1) doesn't install faucets
(2) doesn't solder leaky pipes
(4) Cannot surface mount wiring from an existing electrical to hang a fan
(4) doesn't have miter saw to install moulding
(5) has never installed an attic insulator kit
(6) was not familiar with using seam caulk to prevent leaks when installing new gutter parts
I had to revise my list three times after the purchase. Also, it was only when he arrived that he asked me if I had all the supplies on -hand that would be needed for the repairs. Advise the customer prior to the repair date of what they must buy in preparation.
Nice guy and the items we finally agreed upon were simple tasks and done fine, but far from my priorities.

Butch has completed various jobs for us over the past two years. He has refurbished and repaired our deck, her has made household repairs and done extensive gardening including weeding, mulching and tree/bush trimming. He has done an excellent job on every job. He has very high quality standards. He treats each job as if it was his own personal home/gardening project. He is very knowledgable, experienced, reliable and takes great pride in his work. He is neat, well organized, has excellent suggestions and is a pleasant and kind too. I highly recommend Butch, The Handyman!
