The install date came and as expected, the installer called prior to arriving, on time. Once here he explained what he was going to do and did it. He was neat, professional and knowledgable. I was completely impressed with how everything looked when complete. Wires were secure, devices were labelled, etc. This is how I remember telecom used to be. My internet was out for perhaps 10 seconds tops as he switched my feed from mxxxxxcom to integra. The people on the other end of a skype conversation did not even notice. The internet is fast and stable, i'm good. The TV worked fine as well.
We have been very pleased with Integra! The service basically never goes out. And the couple times it has over the years we got a email telling us it would be out for like 20 minutes for system upgrades - so they even warned us. But this has only been a couple times over many years.
We get the 30Mb DSL for internet and I measure it right at 30-31Mb via speedtest.net. And the nice thing is that the speed never drops off like cable - it is not shared so I always get the full speed. We can watch Netflix streaming and Amazon streaming and get HD with no drops outs ever in the picture so the internet speed is great.
TV has been great too - very clear HD stations. I was skeptical since they use wireless boxes for some of your TV's since they can only hard wire a couple of them, but the wireless boxes have been problem free, other than having to reboot them a couple times a year.
So we have been very pleased with Integra overall. They have an office in Prior Lake and you can call or stop in and talk to real people that treat you well. I also don't miss the DirecTV that would go out whenever there was weather issues.
Update Feb 2014: they just added 15 new HD channels, and at this point are by far the best choice for this area (Prior Lake / Savage).
Integra Internet promises up to speeds of 30mbs, and so far, we range with Integra around 29 to 30. I did see a degradation to 5mps on saturday, May 4, and with tech support, we concluded that one our wireless devices was bad. With the team's support at the office, I was able to quickly swap this device out, and found success of 28, 27 mbs every day since. The team indicated that they are making a big upgrade to the internet connections for customers this week, and we will see some spiking, but they are working and repairing the issue. The communication from Integra is fantastic, the team is wonderful, and I am grateful to have them as my ISP.
ABOUT MY PAST CABLE COMPANY: I would like to take back the years I spent struggling with my other cable company, as I have spent far too many saturday's or evenings, waiting for a technician or a reboot on a cheap and outdated modem.
The promise from our cable company in prior lake(mediacom) was 20mbs, and we usually ran close to that when the technicians would come out, but it would degrade to around 5mps. The result was another technician would come out to prioritize our signal, and then come out again to fix it in the future.
Integra is priced fairly, and will provide the value that you are paying for. They are actually cheaper than cable. Do yourself a favor, and buy the whole house DVR, and get the DSL package they offer for $99 a month. You will not regret the hassle of returning cable equipment and setting up time for install. Integra is world's above cable in technical ability to provide the service they promise.
Customer service is wonderful, and chatting with them online was like talking with a girlfriend. I hope that you can find the time to make the switch.
