We needed to increase the height of the railing on our stairwell for safety, so we had a custom iron rail made to go on top of the existing wood piece. The railing Loftus made is beautiful and exactly what we need. (Pic attached – we will be adding an additional wood top rail soon). Although we know the job was small for them and didn't expect to be in constant communication, I would say that the communication was a bit lacking. But – it did get made and installed! However, installers seemed to be hurried and caused a couple scratches in our existing wood top (which I had just refinished).

Incredibly prompt and easy to work with.

The paint on the new iron staircase continually flaked off, leaving rust to develop. When we asked them to re-do it for the second time, they informed us that the reason it was happening was because they had changed the company they worked with and that the new product had proved inferior. We asked them to at least re-paint the staircase. In spite of frequent communication they never returned calls nor returned to complete the request. When we investigated the installation of a second new staircase they increased the price by over $1500. We are working with other agencies for re-dress of this situation.

The project went perfectly. Started with good design from general contractor. The rails arrived and the test fit went well. They came back after the stairway woodwork was complete and installed them. It's been a few weeks now, and I've had a chance to look more closely at everything. The pieces and placement is flawless.

We had Loftus Ornamental fabricate two interior hand railings for our older St. Paul home. The steel hand railings were welded, ground smooth, primed and painted, and both looked great. We mounted the railings ourselves, and all mounting hardware and touch-up paint were provided by Loftus Ornamental.

Very professional. They gave a budgetary quote based on my measurements and then came out for a final measurement. Issue with my step configuration meant a change in the order which was handled nicely. They installed for me while I was out of town and sent me an invoice for the agreed-upon price. EXCELLENT quality and really easy to deal with.

Greg Schutz responded quickly to my request for an estimate. He made measurements of the outdoor steps next to which the railing was to be installed. He made useful suggestions regarding how best to overcome some design problems posed by unique features of the steps. The railing was fabricated and installed faster than Greg promised with no further need for input from me. The railing was not cheap, but then custom fabrication generally is not (standard railings from the home centers would not work well in this case). The product quality and service were very good.

Initial quality of the railing delivered was very good, except that one section was made too short. The too short section was remade and replaced, but it was delivered with uneven powder-coating (smooth sections on a textured surface). a scratch, and a few small kinks in the cable. We kept the railing with the defects because it took 6 weeks to get this section alone, and we would not have wanted to wait any longer if remaking it was an option.

From the beginning we felt that ours' was too small a job for this busy company. It took far too many calls on our part to get the initial delivery in late July and the replacement section in late September. We were put in the position of having to hound them with our frequent calls. From the time the order was placed and the order completed, 4 months and 11 days had gone by. Some of the elapsed time was because we had to time the installation with other jobs like staining that were being done by other contractors. They could have started the railing sooner that they did. When we were ready for installation, they had not started the railing and did not do so until more time elapsed. We called often and were told that we would be put on the top of the list. Being put on the top of the list meant weeks of waiting. Considering that no apology for the delays or the mistake came until they finally finished the order, and considering that they had made the mistake and took too long to make the replacement railing even though they knew they were holding up inspection of our completed basement remodel, I would say they were not a responsive or highly professional company for our small job. Their excuse for not noticing the defect in the powder coating was that their lighting at the shop was not as good as ours, hence the poor quality control. They do not carry a small vacuum with them for cleanup, so they use mine-not very professional.

The owner of the company came to our home, did the measurements. A few days later we visited their shop to see all the options available. We were pleased to see that they do all the fabrications at their shop (made in USA). There were many choices of styles and decorative add ons so we were able to truly customize the railings. The estimate came in well within our budget. About two weeks later the owner's brother and young man came to install the railings. They looked exactly like what we had ordered, they fit the steps perfectly, and considerable time was spent make certain that they were placed level and plumb. The installers cleaned the area of concrete powder after they finished and were very professional. We will be recommending them to our friends.

It was great! He came by within a day to look at the space, I had an estimate and picture within two days, and even though he said it would take a couple of weeks, the gate was delivered and installed within 5 days - 8 days start to finish. He was professional, prompt, courteous, cleaned up, and knew exactly what I was looking for. I thought the price was very reasonable. He was sympathetic to my need for things to be done quickly - I had a new dog who could escape our gate - and the gate looked better than I expected. I'd absolutely recommend them!

This is a family owned company who paid a lot of attention to detail. They provided wonderful customer service for us and did a beautiful job. The price was fantastic for the work they performed. I would use this company again in the future.

They are an A company all the way through. My favorite part of the remodel I had done was a hand rail they did in my basement. It's a very nice feature to have and I like it a lot.

Amazing company! Did the estimate, did a great job explaining my options for the replacement railing, and promised that the work would be done shortly after the 1st of the new year. Then came and did the work early because the weather was good. The workers were polite, careful, and cleaned up perfectly; you would never have known anyone had been there at all. This is an EXCELLENT company to work with!

Work was done on time, and Jeff and his helper were friendly and professional. The work is great and really looks good.
