We have been very pleased with our interactions with the company so far.

I had called at 8 am in the morning saying that my furnace was not working properly. I then had asked them if they had time that day to come out and look at the furnace, the lady said" yes we have a busy schedule but we will make it out there today forsure". So at 7:30 pm they came out and looked at the furnace. The technician Sam first looked at the furnace and determined that it was the flame sensor which was dirty. He proceeded to wipe it off with his PANTS of all things. Then placed it back into the furnace. He proceeded to state that the furnace and the duct work was extremely dirty. He claimed that they could clean furnace and the duct work for $799.00 dollars. My house is 4 years old and I use 90 day filters but rather than change them every 90 days, I change them every 30 days. I looked in the ducks and furnace and what he was claiming very very dirty; it was not the case. The sheet metal glistened with the flash light shining on it, if it was that dirty it would not be doing this. Then he asked what was it that I put on the duct work. I said it was mastic and foil tape to seal up the duct work. He then proceeded to say that "duct work should never be sealed because it needs to be able to breath". Really come on, I am not that stupid. I asked a friend of mine who owns his own  plumbing and heating company in another state and he said any HVAC guy who says that duct work should not be sealed needs to get out of the business.
He continued to try and sell me a bunch of services that would have cost me over $1600.00 dollars. Of course I said no because I was getting the feeling of being a fraudulent company.   The other thing was that I called at 8 am to get service and they said they would make it out to my house that day, They then proceeded to charge me "after hours service call".. Call me crazy but if I call at 8 am and the company arrives at 7:30 pm that is not my problem and a company should not charge you a after services call.  I will never call these guys again. I sent in a complaint via survey card and have never back from them. I just want to warn people before they call these guys and get screwed over like I did. Oh and by the way the furnace still acted up after that and I looked at the led indicator by how many times it was blinking and the flame sensor was not the problem..

I have been using them for about two years. They are fast. My husband dealt with him, but he said that hey come out quickly.

One thing that I really appreciate is that their schedule is down to the minute so you know when to expect them.  I've used their services a lot in the past and I just think they're a good company to work with.

They have twenty four hour service available. I still belong to their heating and comfort club; with $12 a month I get twenty four hour service, emergency service, and they do come when I call. I actually had problems in thte middle of winter and they came out that night.

Their customer service level was outstanding. Their thoroughness and the quickness of the job were above my expectation. They were on time and their estimate about the amount of time it would take to complete the job was fairly accurate. The value that I got for the deal was very reasonable. I would use them again in the future.

Overall, the price paid was not worth the end result, due to the cold in winter, and hot in summer upstairs.  The gas/electric bill did not come down like we'd hoped.  I think we may have done well with a little more furnace in hindsight for this old house or the follow-up for the air returns would help.  The pushes for service contracts were made, and accepted, but we have yet to hear anything back about that one-year system check.  The coverages I thought were a little weak, and made to look shady with the exclusions and tier based service coverage language that I still can't understand.  I regret buying into it.  If anything major happens I wonder where the oddly worded exclusion will be pointed out and not covered.

I will not scorn the work but am not sure if I will use them again.  The follow-up is really what has deducted from their reputation for me.  Once the bill was paid, the job was done, the relationship was over..  I really had looked forward to finishing the job with them.

worst company experience ever involved in. We responded to an advertisement stating, "Win a free furnace!! One hour heating and air is giving away a FREE furnace to the homeowner who registers the oldest furnace. All you have to do today is estimate the age of your furnace. We'll follow up after the show to verify the age. If your furnace is the oldest entered, we'll provide you with a brand new furnace to replace it. All you have to cover is the installation cost." Having an original furnace in our home, we responded to the ad and had a technician stop by our home to tell us the age of the unit. The claimed it was the oldest furnace she had ever seen. Diagnostics were then performed on the furnace and it was deemed a condemned unit. The technician then responded and said we did not qualify for the free furnace anymore since our unit was going to be condemned. Being regular homeowners and not HVAC technicians we were unaware of the faults the furnace had. But, being daycare providers, our home and furnace had been recently inspected and our house was equipped with appropriate co and fire detectors on all levels of the home. Owners were notified of this misleading advertisement, and he did not cooperate. I asked for documentation from the owner 2 times and he didn't provide written documentation, ( stating if a furnace was deemed inoperable to the technicians standards then the furnace would be eliminated from the free furnace contest ). I also asked to have the salesmen give us an estimate to replace our furnace and he denied us the right to buy a furnace from Pine one hour and heating, because he fealt we didn't trust the company. An act of discrimination. And an act of false advertisement. And an act of out right lying. I would not recommend Pine one hour for anything, unless you love being lied to and you enjoy being stressed out. The cooperate office has been notified, and I'm still waiting to hear back from them.

Overall, it went well. The technician was on-time, and the work completed satisfactorily. They told me on the phone what the price of a basic service call was, which was in line with others. HOWEVER: anything beyond the basic service call and diagnostic was at tiered, structured price...not time and materials. In my case, there was a blown capacitor and the unit needed coolant. There was something called a Level 1 charge for replacing the capacitor, and once the unit was running, there was another Level 1 charge for adding coolant. Each Level 1 was $117 or thereabouts. I feel this is a very poor way to charge. Once the diagnostic is made, a time and materials charge should be used, otherwise there is little way to compare cost with others. After the repair, there was a strong push to purchase a service contract. This was a total waste of my time, but went on far too long before I was able to get the technician out the door. I will only use this company again when I cannot get timely service from someone else.
