Great Estates Yard & Tree

Fantastic! We had used Great Estates for general tree trimming and were very happy with their service and knowledge. Jeremy and Craig and their crew were timely, efficient and accountable. We called them on Saurdat July 17 after a very strong storm ripped through the Twin Cities. We were devastated at sunrise to see the 45' limb lying on our front lawn. It had been ripped from a very large maple tree, and it made up nearly half the canopy of the tree. A severe storm had torn through the Brainerd area the previous week, and we were sure no tree services would be available in Minneapolis - they were all taking care of the thousands of trees up north. I called Great Estates and a couple of other services. Jeremy said he would have Craig call me regarding a schedule. He assured me that though they were very busy, they wanted to take care of their old clients and their Twin Cities customer base. Craig called shortly after that, and said they could be here on Monday, I was thrilled - I didn't think anyone could possible be there that soon. Craig called back within the hour, and said they had some others calls coming from Minneapolis, and again, wanting to take care of their good clients and their customer base, he would be there that day!! I went from thrilled to ecstatic! Craig drove all the way from Brainerd in the afternoon, and was examining our tree by early evening. He is very knowledgeable about his business, and thought that the tree could be saved, which was not certain in our minds. He emphasized that Jeremy was the arborist, but his own knowledge was clearly expert. He told me that they would be able to remove the limb and take down one additional branch that had been damaged in the storm on Monday!

On Monday afternoon, Jeremy and Craig arrived with their team. Jeremy reviewed the situation and agreed with Craig, and as arborist, he cut down the additional branch. Their team was amazingly fast in cutting up the limb. I could not have been happier! Jeremy will be back when the season calms down to look at some fungus in the damaged tree, and do some regular maintenance work on our other trees. They will be most welcome. Their customer service is incredible, their expertise obvious, and pricing appropriate. We highly recommend them to everyone!

We share a large oak tree with a neighbor and split the cost of having the tree trimmed. My neighbor had found this company, and although they had already provided her with an estimate, Craig was willing to come back out and show me what he recommended for trimming on my side. He patiently answered my questions and explained what was good for the tree or what would stress the tree.
On the day of the trimming, they called ahead to let me know they were coming over so that I could get my car out of the garage while they used the driveway. During the trimming, I asked that they be careful about dropping branches on the roof since part of it is metal and softer, which they did.
The team also cleaned up all the debris from the trimming and cleared my steps and front yard of the leaves as well. It looked better than when they arrived. Finally, Craig stopped by to make sure we were happy with the work, which we were.
Highly recommended.

We sustained damage from 2 downed trees, which landed on our garage. We called a few tree companies, and Craig called us back within minutes. The other tree companies were too busy from all of the storm damage, I assume, so didn't respond.
Craig came out the same day and gave us a quote. He was a pleasure to deal with. After getting a couple of other quotes for roughly the same price, we went with Great Estates. They came out quickly and removed the trees without causing further damage. They did a great job, and cleaned up. They realized we were working with our homeowners insurance company and gave me an extra week to pay them.
Overall, excellent communication and excellent company.

What a fabulous team! They were outstanding and worked quickly and very carefully to trim my tree. They had to bring in a truck with a basket to even get close to some of the trunks. Seeing them maneuver the basket around electrical lines. over a garage and into the tree was great to watch. They did a super job of taking off limbs, suckers, etc and then cleaned up after they were done. It really could not have been better. The whole day i was waiting for my cranky neighbor to complain about something, as they were doing work thru his back yard also, and I never heard a peep from him, which meant he was also happy with their work. BRAVO!!!

The tree was surrounded by my garage, my neighbor's garage, a fence and other large landscaping plants. Bottom line, it was difficult to get to the tree without bringing large equipment into my yard which I could not permit since I had major landscaping done and new sod put in last September. They brought a large truck with a cherry picker type bucket on it and reached over my garage to take the top half that hung over my property down. They then asked permission (which was given) to drive the truck into my neighbor's driveway and take down the half that hung over her garage. They then cut the trunk, removed the debris and the job was done. It took 2 days with a 4 man crew each day. They were professional and knew what they were doing. Nothing was damaged and they cleaned up the work site as best they could considering there was still 2 feet of snow on the ground.

They were very prompt and the team that did the work was great, I have no complaints about them.

Leaflets were being put on doors. Craig, the estimator, stopped to chat since I was working in the front yard. He examined my tree from many different angles and offered suggestions. Was very patient with all of my questions. Work was scheduled for the following week. When I came home from work, the only evidence that they had been there was some tree dust in the yard. The tree looked great and the neighboring cedar tree now has a little more air space and is very happy.

Excellent in every respect. They performed all of the work on time, the crew was friendly and professional, the clean up work was done thoroughly and they followed through with the stump removal in a timely manner. I would hire them again.

The work was done promptly and completely. All debris was removed. Workers were courteous and careful.

Craig, the estimator, was very friendly and honest. They did the work on time and for a very reasonable price compared to several other bids. This is the second time I've used Great Estates and would not hesitate to use them again.
