The sales clerk quoted me a price of and quot;approximately $20 eachand quot; for (2) car chargers for the cell phones I was buying at that time. No price displayed, nor price tags on the items. After paying for (2) new phones, the (2) car chargers, and (2) contract renewals, I examined the sales receipt and noticed that the store had charged me $34.99 each for the car chargers, not the and quot;approximately $20 eachand quot; they had quoted. I asked the sales clerk to remove the items from sale because I didn't want them (at that price). The store manager refused to remove the items and said that I could only and quot;return the (2) chargers for a store credit.and quot; I pointed out that I was still in the store, and that I just wanted to cancel those (2) items. She replied multiple times that it was a policy.
I left the store and called customer service at Verizon Wireless. The service representative said she never heard of such a policy and said she would look into it. After investigation she told me that the store I shopped at was a and quot;Z-Wirelessand quot; store, which is an independent company that sells Verizon Wireless products and services. She had spoken to (2) people at the store and they repeated to her that it was a policy, without elaboration. The Verizon Wireless service desk was not able to resolve the issue. I then sent an e-mail to Z-Wireless and explained what had happened, and asked them to intercede with the store so that I could return the (2) chargers. After a couple of days had passed, I had not received a reply, so I am typing this complaint in Angie's List to alert others that there is a sharp distinction between Verizon Wireless corporate stores and Z-Wireless stores, and to avoid the latter.

At the store, they were professional, helpful, understanding, willing to help and they answered all the questions that I asked. They didn't try to sell me other things while I was there.
