Mike showed up at our home at the agreed date and time and started working on the project.  I checked in on the progress and found that rather then removing the old tile it was being scored to add adhesive upon which the new tile was going to be laid.  This was not what we wanted.  Mike and I discussed the issue, he wanted us to be happy with the work and said he would be back at 8 a.m the next day as well as the following week to complete the project as discussed.  Misunderstandings happen and I was perfectly fine with the delay.  The next morning I waited over an hour for Mike to show up.  Finally, I called to check on when I could expect work to begin and was told he would not be able to complete the job after all but maybe in 4-6 weeks he could get back to us.  I was dumbfounded.  I had paid a plumber $150 to remove our toilet so the tile could be laid and now was without a toilet until I could find another tile professional to complete the job that Mike started.  I had two contractors I could have used for this job and decided to go with Mike Carr.  Now I'm scrambling to find another tile professional as the second contractor is no longer available.  I think the true measure of professionalism and customer service is how issues such as this are handled.  Mike left our home with a project he started (base boards were pulled, new tiles pulled from the boxes and stacked, and the existing flooring scored) and didn't return or have the decency to leave a message that he wouldn't be returning. This individual was unprofessional in the handling of his error and I would not recommend using this business.
