ABC Seamless

DeBois' ABC Seamless from Hastings, MN installed siding on our house in 1989. The building codes, then and now, require a flashing above windows and doors to divert water. Debois' ABC seamless doesn't think the code applies to them so they didn't install a J-channel above the windows. To the best of my knowledge, they still don’t use flashing. ABC siding is warranted for 50 years, however, the installation is only for 10 years. Since I did not notice the water damage until ~20 years later, I have no recourse against them. I did call David Debois and pointed out the code violation, he told me I didn’t know the code and didn’t know what I was talking about. It’s really disappointing that they would refuse to install a $2 piece of J-channel that would save the home owner $1000s of dollars later. The siding itself is starting to flake. I sent pictures and all the requested information to them 3 months ago, I have not heard anything from them yet. I had to call them to verify they received the information. I would not recommend Debois ABC Seamless to do any work. If you have ABC seamless siding already, I suggest checking the installation to ensure it meets code before your windows and doors sustain water damage.

The salesman was on time and new what he was talking about (not the case with 2 other companies that I talked too). The installers showed up at the date and time that they said they would be here and they were professional, courteous and new what they were doing. I'm a very satisfied customer!!

They did the work while I was at work. My daughter was home and she said she hardly heard them. The only way you could tell that they were here is that the gutters were in place.

I was gone that day but they called ahead and ask for elec core for them to use and came in and done it real quick.. you almost didn't even notice they were there.

Excellent company to work with.  We had used them several years ago to installer larger gutters on home, and were impressed with them then.  Still an excellent company to work with, and superior customer service.  Recommend them highly.

They were on time and cleaned up their mess.  We waited for a good rain to pass judgment and found two leaking corners.  They were out within a week to fix one, but didn't get the second one from my description.  They came out again, after the next rain, when I was home, and fixed the second one with no issues.  We went with the steel ones, because we thought we would like the LOOK better against our house.  We were right and don't regret the extra cost.  The gutters and downspouts are working well with no over flow, where we used to have an unintended water feature from the roof.  The sizing of the gutters and the number of downspouts it working great.  They installed diverters at all the roof "seams" so keep anything from splashing over/out.

Very knowledgeable and professional salesman. We were impressed and did book a job that will be completed later this month. Our neighbors used them as well and had a good experience.

The overall engagement went well.  3 neighbors and I joined together to talk about getting gutters and spoke to multiple contractors about the process.  ABC had the most professional approach, and provided good discounts due to our "group nature".  We agreed and moved forward with ABC.  At the time, they were booking 1-2 weeks out.
There was some frustration with ABC during the waiting period.  There were stretches with poor weather, but it still seemed we were being relegated to "the bottom of the pile".  When we called ABC about the delay, they agreed to move us to the top of the queue, and did arrive 1-2 weeks after that (4-5 weeks after initial commit). 
The gutters they installed were of high quality, and the installation itself was very well done.  The colors match well, and the plan adequately directs water away from the house.
Overall, the item I'm most concerned with (the quality of the installation and materials) was done very well, so I'll rate them highly, rather than concentrating on some of the administrative factors that were not as good, but have no bearing on the final product.

My experience with them was good. The sales person was knowledgeable and gave me an instant quote on cost. The man who came to do the work, he is quite knowledgeable and answered all my questions. They have a very reasonable price.

We were referred to them by our neighbor who had some repair work done with ABC and they were happy with their work. ABC was prompt in setting up an appointment and Greg, our salesperson was very knowledgeable about the product and the value out brings over competitive products. Once we decided to purchase, the work was scheduled quickly. The installers arrived on time and even worked on our project after a snowstorm. They completed the work on time and we are happy with the install. Will need to post later once we have rainfall to assess the quality of the gutters. So far, they've been strong enough to hold the snowfall.

Satisfied.  Needed to call to remind them to they needed to come back out to connect downspouts to drain tile.

They did a great job. The price, quality, responsiveness, and professionalism are great. I would use them again in the future if needed.

Everything went real smooth. However last summer we ended up with some spots on the side of the house. I called the company and they came out immediately(The owner of the company) he had never seen anything like the stains . He contacted the warranty people for the siding for them to come out. He then followed up with us and gave us some suggestions for what the warranty company felt it was. I would use this company again and if I need more gutters i will contact them.

Salesman came to home and displayed samples, gave estimate, offered discount when I hesitated to commit.  Required only 10% down, balance after completion. Little bit of a delay in getting actually scheduled.  Salesman not prompt about responding after I would leave voice messages.  Crew arrived one hour later than promised, but called to explain why there would be a delay. Professional employees who listenned when I would interrupt their work to ask questions.  Were curtious and prompt to respond to my requests to touch-up a few spots that needed caulk. Thorough clean-up, and followed my instructions for removing their big trailer from my driveway to avoid driving on the lawn. Spoke and understood english very well.  Worked continuously and completed the job in one day. Everything I had insisted the salesman put on the contract was completed, with only one follow-up call to the home office needed regarding name spellings and the lein waivers, which were promptly mailed before I was asked for the balance of the contract.

Installation done while I was not present, so was not able to address a problem until after work was done.  Was not happy with the way the downspout was constructed to accomodate the stone front on bottom three feet of house.  Elbows were not used (as they were on one of my neighboring units by another gutter installer) & it was put together with multiple cuts and jagged pieces and rough edges so that it looks homemade & unprofessional.  I placed a call and left message detailing the problem and requested a call back.  I never received a return call.  However, weeks later I received a call looking for payment of the balance due.  I called back stating I was not going to pay the balance until the problem was corrected.  First I was told that no one received my message, and then I was told that a service call was made to the house & that some type of work was done, but the caller did not know what, if anything was done to correct the problem or explain why elbows were not or could not be used.  (If they didn't receive my detailed message, then why was a service call made?)  There was no explanation as to why I was never given a courtesy return call to address my concerns or, after the service call, advise what work had been done.  After that call, upon further inspection, I noticed that one of the pieces was removed, so that there were fewer short, jagged pieces, but still no elbows.  There were also screws missing when the unit was reassembled, which I found on the ground.  My concerns have still not been satisfactorily addressed as I still do not have elbows on that area or an explanation as to why they cannot install elbows like the other gutter provider did.

We are satisfied with them. They gave excellent service. The follow up was good. Their price was high. I would use them in the future.

Every thing went very smoothly from start to finish. If I had a problem I would call and talk to one of the owners (Brian) and things were taking care of right away. After it warmed up they had some one come out to house and clean up every thing left all around the house. Very professional service with A+++ service from me.

Bid was competitive.  Salesman was knowledgeable and responded well to my concerns about heavy drainage from valleys in roof.  Gutters and hangers were heavy duty materials.  Installers came and did a professional job of installing the gutters.  My wife said it looked like the gutters had always been there.  Installers also took extra care to route down sprouts to my specifications and did an excellent job even through a difficult stand of thorny climbing roses.  They removed all debris and left the area clean.  I would use them again.

Overall they did a great job. They were professional and left the place clean.

I thought it went very well.  They gave us an estimate.  We agreed to have it installed, and they installed it.  It looks nice.  I don't have any problems with them.  The price was high.

The estimate from ABC was higher then that of the insurance adjuster and they were unwilling to adjust they price even though the insurance company did. I decided to stay with ABC for two reasons, first they had done the previous work on the house and I was happy with the job, secondly they said they would be able to wait on the window-wrap until I got two doors installed. They didn't work with my schedule - I wasn't able to be there for any of the work, they had to be called back twice to correct several problems with the roofing work and they did not wait for the doors to be installed. Because of this, my trying to save them time and money, I will have to re-schedule to have them out to wrap the two new doors.
