BRUBAKER LANDSCAPE DESIGNS

We were very pleased with the service and quality of work; they did an amazing job. They turned the whole project into a beautiful landscape and we would definitely recommend them to anyone.

We're currently in a holding pattern. They completed the plan for last spring, but we wavered after seeing the price. We specifically asked them to hit a budget, and stated we were willing to sacrifice features. They came back with a bid that significantly exceeded that budget. The plan itself seems good, but it cost us over a $1000. We also had to press hard in the negotiation around the plan's contract to ensure that our ownership of the plan was clear. They wanted us to pay for the plan, then have no ownership rights to it, which seemed ridiculous. We intend to bid out the plan this spring to other contractors. We suspect that they will underbid Brubaker by thousands, but that is speculation at this point.

We contacted Brubakers about planning the removal and replacement of our crumbling retaining wall. Initial estimate from Brubakers was more than double our upper limit (based on our realtor's naive suggested amount at time of home purchase). Thought about it for a year, then went ahead. They did a good job with the plan and an even better job with the build. The job came in slightly under estimate. Brubakers removed trees, ground out the stumps, removed a retaining wall, graded the slope, and placed boulders. We did all the composting, planting, and woodchipping ourselves. They helped us cut features of the plan to bring down cost, but the job was still a large investment. In our case, we wanted to improve our property and the neighborhood, not just fixer up and sell it, so the price was worth it. We get compliments on the landscape from passers-by on a daily basis. Brubakers do a great job, but it will be pricey.
