A-1 Construction & Remodeling

I got bids from four contractors ... A-1 was in the middle on cost but was by far the best to work with ... highly professional, personalized service and excellent workmanship. Ask for Tranger ... I'm already looking forward to having A-1 work on my next project (an addition to my garage). These guys are professional and just great to work with. I recommend them without reservation. I can't believe I didn't build this deck years ago. I love it. It is 12 x 22 with a few different angles and design features ... 6x6 footings, 2x10 trusses, and 6" cedar planks. It is beautiful!!

Last spring we had water in the basement. We pulled the pad out and got everything dried up. Called Tranger for estimate. He was prompt in answering his phone and was prompt. Throughout the project he did what he said he would do and when he said he would do it. His team did excellent work with drywall. We can't even tell where things were patched. We also asked about a leak over breezeway. He crawled up on the roof and determined it was a flashing by the chimney. He took care of calling someone to fix that and just included it all in his bid. He ended up doing a little more in the bedroom, but stuck to his quote. He was also very friendly and down to earth to work with. The price seemed fair, though we've not hired this type of work out before so didn't know what to expect.

It went in stages, as different people were needed at each step: to open the drywall and remove the damaged wood, etc.; to "sister" the beam and replace the 2x4's and add insulation; to install the drywall; to paint and finish the drywall. We were not on a deadline, so we were not bothered by time spent between "stages." It did take some time. The workers were able to use my husband's shop tools to cut the wood, etc., which made work more efficient.
