🚨 If your home has ANY risk of lead-based paint, I strongly urge you to avoid Clear Choice Restoration at all costs. 🚨 UPDATED: March 28, 2025 – Clear Choice Restoration is Suing to Take My Home Day 711 (yes, more than 2 years!): I am now in a legal battle with Clear Choice Restoration (CCR). Instead of reimbursing me for the extensive damage they caused, they are attempting to foreclose on my home for non-payment. Imagine hiring a contractor, they contaminate your property with hazardous lead paint, and then they try to take possession of your home rather than fixing their mistakes. I find this behavior absolutely disgusting. You can verify this case yourself: Second District Court Case #62-CV-24-1760. It cost me nearly $25,000 to clean up their mistakes and so far they have refused any responsibility for the contamination or remediation costs. UPDATED: September 22, 2024 – Legal Tactics to Silence Customers Day 534: Over a year and a half ago, Clear Choice Restoration contaminated my property with lead paint chips. I took them to conciliation court to recover damages. Rather than resolving the issue, they retaliated by suing me and moving the case to circuit court, significantly increasing my legal costs. In my opinion, CCR weaponizes the legal system to intimidate dissatisfied customers, relying on the fact that most people lack the knowledge or resources to fight back. But as you can see, there is no reason to fear taking them to court or writing a truthful review. WARNING: No Lead Paint Insurance Coverage Clear Choice Restoration does not carry insurance for lead-related damages. When I filed a claim for the lead contamination, their insurance company denied coverage. My home had two layers of siding, with the original clapboard covered in lead-based paint. - CCR failed to follow proper lead remediation practices, contaminating my entire yard with hazardous lead paint chips. - They attempted two cleanups—both failed. - They then blamed another contractor for the contamination. - They quit the job without notice and refused to file an insurance claim to cover the cleanup. 🚨 They didn’t just fail at their job—they created a permanent, life-threatening hazard and left me to deal with it. 🚨

Clear Choice, Joe and Steve, did an amazing job of helping us navigate a difficult insurance issue with our roof. At the time of installation, Tim managed the job and went above and beyond. We were very happy with their service and the entire process.

They were not a company that I would go with again! I got them from my insurance company, because I thought my insurance company would give me a good company after the huge hail damage we had May 19, 2022. But never again will I have Clear Choice do any work for me. When you text them to let them know not to have their workers come out, because they have the wrong color for your window wraps. You get told that you don’t know what you’re talking about and when you know it’s not white because you know that’s not what the color you picked in the first place. But instead have to listen to him putting you down and for him to say to you “thanks for wreaking my weekend!” Well because of the verbal abuse. I fired them from putting on my new window wraps. But I thought that would be the end with them, but just the beginning of the verbal abuse I received from the salesman and the owner Steve. Brand new roof and I had my first leak in November from the first frost. Again I didn’t know what I’m talking about. So I had the city come out and look. She could tell that a exterior pipe was not caulked at all. I was verbally attacked by him. So I would just repeat that the city said you’re to fix it or if you don’t. Than I’m to let her know. It finally got caulked, but Steve the owner told me over the phone that “ they don’t caulk!! They don’t caulk! caulk! they don’t caulk!! So I told him that I wish I knew this before hiring you. Well, I thought I wouldn’t have anymore leaks. Nope!! In January 2023. The wall started to bubble with water coming in from the roof. And then the ceiling started to leak. Their roofers did a poor job at the areas of the leaks. Would Steve have someone come out to repair it? Heck No!! He wouldn’t even come out to look at it until I reported it to BBB, or until I reported him to The Labor Department. Guess what. The Labor Department has had many other reports that other people have reported to them about Clear Choice. Well, Clear Choice wouldn’t do the repairs unless I took down the bad review on them. I said “No! but I would write a review that you fixed it!” Never did they repair and fix the problem. So I’m spreading how Clear Choice was verbally abused to me and didn’t do the repairs. I’ve had to hire someone else to do the repairs. And as Steve the owner said to me. “They don’t caulk!! That’s why I had my first leak!! They turned out to be a company that I was trying to not get in the first place. And company that does a job, takes the money and run. Worst company I have ever had worked with. Showed me no respect. But took advantage of me instead. Not a company to do business with. Oh , so I learned to look at all companies reviews before hiring them. So on the positive side. I learned even more, for these kind of companies. Look at their reviews!! If I had done this. I would see that another female had problems with them.

I hired Clear Choice Restoration for an insurance claim that included replacing the siding. The house had two layers of siding, the inner layer was original clapboard and lead-based paint. The crew failed to follow lead paint remediation practices and contaminated my entire yard with lead-based paint chips. They came out twice to "clean up" the lead paint - both times failed to reasonably clean up the lead paint chips. They then claim another contractor caused the lead paint contamination, quit the job without notice, and refuse to file a claim with their insurance company to cover the cost of cleaning up the lead paint chips they failed to contain. IMO, they are trying to get out of their responsibility to clean up the lead contamination. If you have a house that may have lead-based paint, I think you should avoid Clear Choice Restoration at all costs.

Clear Choice Restoration was highly recommended to us and they lived up to the hype. John was our contact person. Plus, the other team members, Nicky and Brent, were on task and proficient when their roles became necessary. John was in constant communication with us from our first contact until the end of the project. He is a good and timely communicator. His expertise and professionalism showed throughout the various items we needed to complete. John was willing to work with our insurance company from the beginning all the way through to the final invoice. We highly recommend Clear Choice restoration.

From the moment we contacted Steve and through the entire process we couldn't be be more impressed. Clear Choice came recommended from someone we respect and trust., We were bombarded by multiple companies immediately after our house was damaged by a terrible hailstorm. Steve returned our phone call within an hour and was out to see us the same day as the storm. Steve made the whole process with our insurance provider simple, meeting personally with the adjustor and working directly with him to have an accurate assessment of the required repairs. Nicky was very helpful during the initial stages in scheduling Steve's time and provided prompt responses to general questions we had. Once the project started, Brent was always extremely quick to return text messages and provide updates as to status of when materials would arrive and when crews would be on site to perform the work, and following up. Henry and his crew were very hard working and meticulous in their work and genuinely just very nice and courteous people....very professional in their commitment to their craft. The whole process from beginning to end in regard to the insurance claim and paperwork was easy as Clear Choice took the lead. The only other thing we can add is if on a scale of 1 - 10 we would give Clear Choice an 11! We would not hesitate to recommend Clear Choice or to use them again on future projects.

Clear Choice really went way beyond the call in getting our roof replaced after hail damage. Even though the insurance company (Allstate) kept making us jump through one new hoop after another, Clear Choice stayed with us the whole way through. Then, the work they did was exceptionally high quality, and the crew was friendly, hard-working, trustworthy, and professional. And, after the work was complete, their cleanup was so good we still haven't found a single nail or screw anywhere. We would definitely hire them again.

It went well. The gutters were done about a week later because of schedules. As far as I could tell, they did a good job of cleaning up after themselves.

The finished product looks very nice. Everyone at Clear Choice is very friendly.

My insurance company gave me some names of construction companies they work with to inspect for hail damage. We had 11 contractors in our neighborhood knocking on doors saying we needed a new roof without even seeing it.  I called clear choice - Mark from Clear Choice came within 24 hours, did a thorough inspection and found we did NOT need work done, no hail damage!  
This is what we suspected and were delighted to have it confirmed!  
I'll use Clear Choice when we do need work done because they actually denied themselves work!  Mark was professional and great!  

Contractor did a great job, super friendly, honest and responsive whenever I called his cell phone. Showed up on time. Worked with my insurance company. REALLY good company.

The process took several days, allowing for drying, but Mike is very good at what he does and the ceilings are great.

They were recommended to me by my insurance provider. I was very impressed with the results. They were extremely professional and knowledgeable. Each step of the project was completed on time. Each crew (roofing and siding) arrived on time and worked quickly. I was always kept up to date on how the project was coming along. I did have an issue with one of his staff and he addressed it very tactfully. I would totally recommend them for any repairs. Steve, the owner, helped me pick out siding and roofing. I had also mentioned that I was interested in selling the home and he created a portfolio showing exactly what they did and what products were used so that I could give that to my Realtor.

They were fantastic. They were neat, clean and on time. They did what they said they were going to do and communicated with us and got the whole house done in three days. I would highly recommend them.

In connection with the insurance adjustor the extent of the damage due to ice dams was determined.  The attic was inspected and the affected parts of the ceiling were torn out, repaired and a new ceiling was put on.  The work was done quickly and efficiently by Mike Dickerson and overseen by Spencer Mistelske. The clean-up was good and mess was kept to a minimum.  I was able to use my kitchen each morning and evening so was not inconvenienced much.  The work was done in 3 days with Mike coming back later to reinstall the light fixtures.

Spencer arrived on time to give an estimate for the work.  He is very professional and knowledgeable.  We accepted their quote and set a date.  The workers arrived on time and worked in a very efficient manner.  Tearing off old roofing is quite messy and I was concerned about old nails laying around.  They cleaned up the job site so you would never have known they were there.  All their workers were very polite and professional.   They did such a nice job on this investment property that I decided to use them to replace the roof on my personal home.  It went just as well on that job also.  Will definitely use them in the future.  Very price competitive.

Estimate was prompt, came on time, left the place clean and looking good, came back to place gutter shield at later date when materials arrived. No problems at all.

My experience with them was very good. I would rate them high across the board, and I would continue to use them again in the future.
