Amazing. If there were "A+" options I would give it to them in several categories! I had to change the pickup dates many, many times as weather/availability of help/health issues came up. No problem. They totally, happily, took care of us. I will be using them again for sure.

Everything went well. They were professional and polite. They were careful when they dropped the boxes off, putting blocks of wood under the boxes to prevent damage to the asphalt driveways.

Easy to work with. Dirk was always friendly and helpful.

We had a last minute cancellation of closing on the new house. Dirk was very helpful in accommodating us by letting us not worry about last minute change. When we moved in, the container was delivered promptly....

Everything started out well, although I will say that their responsiveness was poor. I always needed to email/call my rep more than once to get a response.
The drop-off went as planned, as well as the pickup after the boxes were loaded.
The drop-off at my new location went as planned, two boxes dropped off on a Thursday on a Minneapolis street. When I set up the service, I emphasized that I needed the boxes picked up Friday afternoon, since I didn't think it was neighborly to leave them sitting there all weekend. 
I was contacted by the rep on Thursday afternoon, and was asked to accept one box pickup on Friday afternoon and another Monday morning. I was willing to meet them halfway, but emphasized that the other box must be picked up on Friday afternoon.
I called around 2:30 on Friday to ask when they would pick up the first box, and was told within the next couple of hours. Then the rep left a message around 5:30 stating that they were having driver problems and that both boxes would be picked up on Monday, and that he was leaving for the weekend. 
After initially promising my new neighbors that both boxes would be gone by Friday afternoon, now I have to deal with the boxes for the entire weekend. 
My new next door neighbor was having a high school graduation party on Saturday, and was justifiably angry that there would be a box still parked in front of her house. She ended up calling Big Blue Boxes herself--I don't know what she told them, but I received an apologetic phone call Saturday morning saying that they'd pick the boxes up right away. 
The driver showed up and started loading the trailer, but it was just as the party was starting, so I asked him to take that box and come back Monday for the other so as to cause minimal disruption. He worked quickly and got the box out of there. 
I want to make a point of saying that the drivers were courteous and professional. All the issues were caused by the scheduling management by the company. The company should have offered to come and pick them up on Saturday when they discovered they couldn't do the pickups on Friday. It's one thing when the boxes are in a driveway, but when you are blocking parking on a city street, it's critical to get them moved out as soon as possible.
It sure would have been nice if the rep had contacted me and apologized for the inconvenience, but I guess he's too busy. 
The boxes themselves are sturdy, waterproof, and easy to load. They are very gentle with the pickup and drop-off of filled containers--I did not experience any damage due to the pickup or delivery. 
I would recommend this moving solution only if you don't have really strict requirements as far as timing as concerned, and you don't need excellent responsiveness.

Quite Simple - they droped it off when promised - took it away after we had it filled, and returned it to our new homeafter calling and setting a return date. called when it was empty and they picked it up. simple as that!

They were awesome! Excellent communication, easy to get a hold of, answered my questions, all items in container were in good shape, and dry as promised.

We rented the Big Blue Box from mid June until late August. They provided great service at a good price, particularly compared to their competition. They worked well with me to place the storage bin on my driveway off of the alley in Minneapolis, which took a little skill on their part! Their driver is to be commended for that.
Where they fell short (way short) was on their reservation process and punctuality. I booked the pickup of the box about 4 weeks in advance. A week later I had to adjust the time and when I called back, they didn't have a record for the pickup at all - so I was saved only by my own follow up. I rebooked the pickup for first thing in the morning (8 AM) and then I confirmed it a week before the pickup was scheduled. On the day they were due, I called them when they were about 20 minutes late and asked for an update, and was told they'd check and call me right back. 45 minutes later - when they were 1:15 late - the call came that they were just leaving their yard.
It being the day before a big move, the timing was important and the least they could have done is call to update me on the process.I'd use them again for general storage, but if timing is important I'd consider the other options first.
I'd probably use them again because the box did the job and the price was right, but if you need them to be on time, you could have a problem.

They were very helpful. They helped me compare costs based on the location, storage needs and location of the box. They actually ended up dropping off a box in my backyard. They helped me figure out how big a box I would need to fit my requirements. I didn’t know anything about needing permits for leaving things on the street and all that kind of stuff, and they were very informative and helpful. They were willing to educate their customer. They helped me make some of the decisions by giving me the prices and other such things, which meant the world to me. They actually pulled out the phone cord in my house while delivering the box, and they sent someone back within an hour to fix it. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

It went great...they even price matched when I called and had a competitor come in a bit lower. I called them back instead because I really wanted to do my business with them because they were so friendly and professional. They totally understood and then came back to me with a better estimate.

After we put our house on the market, we hired Big Blue Box to store some extra furniture and household items so our home "showed" better to prospective clients. I called the company and hired them. They dropped off a big storage container and gave me 24 hours to fill it up before sending a truck to retrieve the box. They took the box to their Minneapolis storage facility where it stayed until we sold our house. On moving day, the box was waiting for us at our new address. I unloaded it within 24 hours, and a truck came to pick up the empty container. It could not have gone more smoothly.

When we decided to move, it became clear we needed to put things into storage while our old house was on the market. We started by putting things into a different storage unit, but when we learned about Big Blue Box, we decided to make a switch. Big Blue Box was our perfect solution. They brought the storage facility to our front door. It was roomier than the storage unit, and (although we always wish things were cheaper) cost no more. We walked out the door with things and they were in storage. No more need to carry things to a vehicle and carry them again into storage. GREAT!! When we'd finished loading stuff, they came and took the "box" away. Later, we needed to add some things to the load, so we called them and they pulled our box out of a multi-level line-up and let us add to it. Finally, we had gotten our new home and sold our old home. We rented a small moving truck to take the items that decorated the old house and drove that directly to the new one. Big Blue Box drove our storage unit to the new house, where we emptied it in under two hours and were done moving. We think it is the only sane way to move.

BBB is very easy to work with. The phone is answered promptly, they had all the info at their fingertips, and a Box was sent out pretty much at a date of our choosing. The Box was in good shape (no smells, water damage, etc.) and was angled to not leak in case of rain. Moving the Box was handled with a phone call and a couple of days; they also will make the Box available at their location in New Brighton with just a business day's notice, in case you just needed to get an item or two out of it. St. Paulites (and other urban dwellers) should be aware that BBB needs 80 feet of space in front of the Box for the truck to deliver and pick it up (mark the curb so your neighbors don't park there). In addition, St. Paul requires a permit and a few-dollars-a-day charge to put the Box on the street (though the BBB people get the permit for you). BBB and its competitors are not the cheapest way to store things, but, in our situation (two houses, no truck of our own to move stuff, and a schedule that did not permit taking a couple of days to load everything all at once), it made sense. I would do it again if needed.

They provided very good service. Everything was just a slick as a whistle. It was a whole lot cheaper than another company that I checked with. They were there when I asked them to be. They were professional. The only complaint that I have is when they brought the container back, they brought it some place that I asked them not to. They put it in my new driveway, instead of on the street where I had asked them to. I had to run out and ask them to move it. It was just a miscommunication. I would definitely use them in the future, and I would recommend them.

Portable Storage (now Big Blue Boxes) delivered my cargo container so I could remove some things and stage my house in Golden Valley. They returned the container so I could finish loading it and have had it at their St. Paul storage facility since then. Over the years they have always been available to answer questions and help me plan. Two years ago I called to make plans for trucking the container to California and back. The quote was more than I could afford at the time so I had to put my plans on hold. When I called again a month ago I was surprised to discover that they were willing to honor the quote from two years ago despite the rise in fuel costs. Having unloaded everything and unpacked quite a few things I am very pleased at how well my stuff has 'survived' being in storage. No critters or broken pieces including some very precious family heirlooms. I would highly recommend Big Blue Boxes.

They did a great job and worked around our schedule at both locations.

Portable storage was great to work with. They were friendly, helpful, and flexible. They took care of getting a permit for us to place the trailer on the street and also provided(for a cost, of course) a heavy duty lock for the trailer. I was expecting some sort of flimsy trailer, but what was delivered was the same type of container commonly used to ship items overseas. I don't think you could've shot a bullet through this trailer! They did everything exactly when they said they would and the whole process went very smoothly!

The pods were delivered and picked up when we needed them to be. The company is very easy to work with and we were able to change delivery dates when it was necessary.

JULIA AT PORTABLE STORAGE WAS FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. SHE OBTAINED THE NECESSARY PERMIT TO HAVE THE CONTAINER ON THE STREET IN ST PAUL. VERY EFFICIENT AND FRIENDLY. CONTAINER WAS ALMOST NEW AND VERY USEFUL. THEY DID HAVE A MONTHLY MINIMUM.

JULIA AT THE OFFICE WAS VERY PROMPT, COURTEOUS AND HELPFUL. NO SURPRISES ON PRICE OR SERVICE. THERE WAS ONE MISCOMMUNICATION, BUT THE COMPANY CORRECTED THE SITUATION PROMPTLY WITH NO HASSLES.

THIS WAS THE MOST PLEASANT MOVING EXPERIENCE EITHER OF US HAVE EVER HAD! EVERYONE AT THE PORTABLE STORAGE COMPANY WAS A PLEASURE TO DEAL WITH IN ALL RESPECTS AND IT WAS MUCH MORE REASONABLE THAN ANY OTHER OPTION WE CHECKED INTO. WE LOADED AND PACKED ALL OF OUR OWN STUFF. I BELIEVE THEY WORK WITH COMPANIES THAT CAN ALSO PACK YOUR BELONGINGS TOO.
