I hired Charlie Marksberry, the owner 10+ years ago and used him ever sense. Normally I pay per treatment, 4-6 / year. This year I paid the full annual amount $950.00 or so upfront in April 2022. He did one service and ghosted me ever since. Not sure what happened to him, but I can't get a hold of him.

These folks took care of the trees on the property we bought three years ago - we kept them on and we're happy we did. They're not the cheapest but they're knowledgeable and don't try to upsell on a bunch of services you don't need. We are glad we "inherited" them.

The process to replace 2 out of 5 shrubs went lousy. Charlie was always late or did not show up. When I talked to him on the day he was schedule to appear, he did not show up. He gave me several excuses. I left work early to be at home when he arrived. However, he did not appear. He did not call me to let me know that he will be late or not coming.I had to call several times to find out my self that he is behind schedule.
I have to wait a month before the 2 shrubs were replaced. Charlie did a lousy job planting them. They died after 2 weeks. I had to dig them up and take them back to the nursery. He did not plant them correctly - twice the size of the shrub. While he was at my home, he was there so quickly - did a terrible job. I had to plant the new shrubs my self  - correctly.
I will never use him again. I have found someone else to spray my trees and to take care of my shurbs.

Charlie, the owner, is very knowledgeable about trees, charged a reasonable price, and was honest about what work needed to be done. In addition, his treatments have been quite effective because the trees have leaves going into the fall season for the first time in a long while.

As mentioned, Charlie is courteous, kind and customer-centric. He is thorough and professional. I highly recommend him. In fact, it bothers me when I see dying trees in our neighborhood knowing that they could be saved if only they called Charlie! I can't remember exact pricing breakouts for all the servicesover the last 2 years but found them all to be reasonable and certainly significantly less expensive than replacing trees.

I first met Charlie when he was the Arborist for Scott's Lawn Care. I never used him while he was at Scott's, but I did have an evaluation done. He began is own company a few years back after Scott's decided to not to have an Arborist on staff. I contacted him because I was beginning to get disease with some of my plants/trees and lost a couple pines. I also had some major pruning (tree removal) that needed to be done with some weeping willows and brush that needed to be hauled away.
Charlie came out to do another evaluation and I instantly new he was my guy because of how knowledgable he was about the trees and plants in my landscaping. He truly loves trees and knows what he is doing (he's NOT just a lawn guy trying to pick up extra business by doing tree fertilization). He is a board certified arborist and does everything according to ANSI pruning standards which was important to me.
We came up with a year long plan to fertilize my plants and trees with a commitment from him to return this winter to do the extensive pruning that needed to be done on my property. Everything was reasonable in price, but I had a lot of things that I wanted done especially in the clean up/pruning category that I ended up spending more than indicated in the and quot; How Much Did You Spendand quot; catagory provided on Angie's List. Just know that he is reasonable and will do a great job. He even did extra things that weren't required like hauling away extra brush that he did not create and taking off my Christmas lights from a bush (which I forgot to remove) that he needed to shape and neatly rolled them into small balls.

Charlie is very knowledgeable, client centered, cares about his work, and is genuinely a very nice person who is great to work with. I would recommend him in a second to anyone that has sick trees, needs pruning or tree removal, or advice about future landscaping plants, etc. I call him all the time for things pertaining to my property because he will give you the REAL answer that is appropriate. He is forward thinking and will let you know if something is appropriate in the future based on what the plant/tree will be like in the future rather than just how something looks right now.

He even has given me recommendations for companies that he knows and trusts in other related industries such as lawn care and landscaping. I have began to use those companies and I am no longer with Scott's. Charlie at Acer Tree Care is the best thing that came out of my relationship with Scott's Lawn Care and I am glad I have him helping me enhance my property.

I am not one of those people that often writes a lot about these companies on Angie's List, but I am so happy with working with Charlie. If you give him a chance I know he will become an instant advisor that you will be glad you met!
