In the March of 2016 we met with a landscaper, Joe, from JT. He gave a great "talk" about helping us and getting us different plants from the norm in our area. It seemed like he would be available for questions and recommendations and we were going to be quite high on the list of their projects since we contacted them early, probably starting in mid-May. We made a large down payment in April. We didn't hear anything from them except that it would be soon when my husband tried to call in May. After not getting ahold of them thru phone calls, he sent an e-mail the first week of June. They had not contacted us about choosing rock colors or picking out plants. We sent e-mails then to the owner of the company, Josh. Three times employees came out with no notice ahead of time. Each time we should have not been home, but at least one of us was. Each time they had important placement questions regarding the work to be done. Once was mid June, then the end of June they came to place the concrete curbing around for our garden areas. We had yet discussed which plants that would go where and we were on our way out of town for a few days. So, long-delayed waiting with no conversing with Joe about where plants would go, we had to make quick decisions about the placement of the edging with someone else to have the work done that day. They came back another day with no notice and planted the 70-75 perennials and grasses we had finally chosen- on the day which my husband had invited co-workers to our patio for a social time, so the JT employees were there during that time placing plants and rock. They did not leave any of the care instruction cards that come with the plants, so I had to research on the inter-net. Of the 70 plants at least 25 of them did not come back in the spring of 2017. My husband tried to phone them regarding the one-year guarantee on all of their plants. We waited until mid-May to make sure they didn't come up. No replies with phone calls, so again he sent e-mails. Joe responded that he never had that many not come up- implying it was us that had not taken care of them. Many that did not come up were about a foot from others that did. My husband replied saying that we took very good care of them and explained the proximity to good ones. Another employee called back, not Joe or Josh, but Brent, he said he'd come out and check the plants and take photos. We waited 5 weeks again and had heard nothing so I then sent an e-mail to Josh, the owner, a week ago and a follow-up this week. He replied saying he would talk to the employees regarding the issue. Thankfully, they showed up the next day and replaced the 25 plants - some not quite the same color arrangement as before, but I'll take what I can get as I don't ever want to communicate with them again. I have never been so upset with a company. I wrote a bad review on Facebook and noticed that a couple of their own employees gave the great reviews and but there were other bad ones, regarding the same issues regarding no communication, etc. Our whole project was over $10,000. They had better change their ways.

I contracted JT Lawn to complete my final grade and hydroseed because of a recommendation from AQUA LAWN sprinkler company as they were doing my underground sprinklers. First off AQUA LAWN no longer recommends JT Lawn. I met with someone from JT Lawn and paid a down payment in March of 2014 with expected services as soon as the ground had thawed. After I paid the down payment, it was impossible to get anyone on the phone for an update. I called about 3 to 4 times a month starting in May wanting to know when they would be around to do the work. I did get a receptionist 1 time who said one of the owners or boss' would call me back, they did not. May went by, June went by and now in July I was calling often trying to find out why no one had contacted me or why they have not done the work yet. I saw numerous houses in my neighborhood getting lawn work done so I was getting upset. I did get ahold of someone 1 time in July who gave me the excuse that the ground had been so wet that they couldn't do my final grade. This was bs as numerous other companies were doing final grades in my neighborhood and there was at least a few times it wouldn't rain for a week straight. When they finally did show up in the beginning of August I called to question the quality of the final grade. There were still rather large clumps.of dirt and about 5 to 10% of the entire yard was rocks. They did level it out, but it was no where near as smooth as yards around me that were having the same work done. When I called to question the final grade, I brought up the rocks and they told me that they didn't matter and the grass would grow around them and push them down. 1 year later I have decent grass but there as still lot and lots of rocks visible in my lawn. I could spend 3 hours digging them out and fill up 2 5 gallon buckets and it wouldn't make a dent in the whole lawn. After AQUA LAWN (whom I highly recommend) installed my sprinkler system JT Lawn sprayed down hydroseed. The hydroseed was of decent quality, I'm no expert on hydroseed so I won't criticize this part since for the most part the grass did grow in nicely, it's just the unevenness of the lawn and the many many rocks left behind that are still a bother today. The main complaint I have is with the absolute zero communication this company has with it's customers. I even drove to Moorhead to their location to talk to someone and none of the people in charge were there, I talked to someone who was able to answer some of my questions, before they came to do the work, but it was a solid month and a half after this visit that they finally showed up to start my lawn. I have told numerous people to avoid this company and I will continue to do so. I waited until this summer to write this review to see how their grass holds up. Overall the grass is good, it's just the grading service and any forms of communication that this company fails at. Avoid them!

Reasonably priced, hard working, cared for the yard.

They are very punctual and do a good job. My yard looks great!

It went very well. I notified them as soon as I had the sprinkler heads flagged and they came out within a few days to aerate. Left a note in the door and then billed by mail within the week.

JT Lawn Service has been great to work with. You normally have to call their number and leave a message but they call you right back. I checked with them and one other place in town. The other place had a young person answering the phone that just gave me a price list over the phone but couldn't give me a ball park estimate because they had no idea what work our yard needed. I called JT Lawn and they came over the same day, looked at our yard and called us back with everything they needed to do. They suggested a step-by-step approach to getting our yard looking healthy again. They came over three months time and did different stuff each time. The first time was weed killer and fertilizer, the second time they aerated and seeded our lawn and the last time they fertilized again. We are definitely going to have them back in the Spring and Summer of 2014 so they can keep our lawn looking good!

I have used JT Lawn for a number of services over the past 2 summers. They are always prompt and responsive, always do a good job, and their prices are very competitive.

I recently purchased a riding lawn mower that has broken down twice, limiting my ability to mow the lawn! I asked neighbors who they used, and was given quotes which were very high, some were inflexible as to when they would come. I was lamenting to someone I knew, who said they were like a swarm of bees that swooped in, got everything done quickly, and charged reasonable rates. I called, and they sent someone out the same day, without charging me extra for living outside of Fargo! They charged exactly what they quoted, and said they could come as often or as infrequently as I wanted. They did a great job, and I would refer them anytime.

We hired JT to aerate our lawn. They did an excellent job and gave us a very good price. We also are now having them service our lawn with weed control / fertilizer. They arrive on time and get the job done! I would recommend them to anyone.

They came out promptly from bidding to work completion, other than the rain making it take a bit longer to get it done than we hoped, all was well. We were in communication frequently, they always returned my calls promptly, stopped out and looked at the yard prior to work taking place at the time of bidding and prior to work starting.
