My only other comment is that I wish they had covered their shoes with some kind of booties when they walked through my house. It's wet and dirty outside and I had to clean my kitchen floor after they left, but I don't consider this a big complaint. I was grateful they got the job done as fast as they did. Everyone was friendly and helpful.
I don't have any cost information. I believe the insurance company handles that.
"We were sorry to hear that the member was unhappy with our work. We strive to make our clients happy during an often unhappy situation. On 4/5/09 @ 9:00 AM, we received a call from the member's husband stating his washing machine had failed causing water damage to his home. Servpro responded and were on site that day at 12:00 PM. The dryout was completed on 4/10/09 and a Certificate of Satisfaction was acquired signed by the member. On Wednesday, April 27, 2009, our repair division supervisor Chris Miller was asked to provide an estimate for repairs after meeting with the members. The original estimate, dated 4/30/09 was for $5,809.56, the homeowner reviewed the estimate and had us remove several line items as she wanted to complete them herself, revisiting the estimated down to $4,573.01. The estimating program used was Xactimate, an industry standard with regional pricing which includes overhead and profit and basic service charges. The member called to schedule commencement of work but wanted to wait approximately two weeks so she could take time off work to be home and oversee the repairs. She had contracted her own tile person to repair the tile in shower area and the kitchen. Work was completed and billed and we then received an Excel spreadsheet of the line items in our estimate and what she was willing to pay and not pay and a check for $3,923.15. We then explained to her that the estimate is all inclusive. We had previously addressed the item of the base trim stain match being slightly different and had asked her if she wanted us to switch it out. Because of the color variations in the wood cabinets she said she thought it would be alright. In her spreadsheet she adjusted our base trim by 25% and we were willing to accept that and adjusted our bill accordingly. We adjusted the plumbing base service charge (which resulted from the remove/reset toilet) as she did not feel it appropriate. We adjusted our billing to include her deduction of 1/2 of the dryer remove/reset as she said she helped with the moving even though the flooring contractor and our carpenter Duane were both on site at the time. The member ended up paying $4,288.36, which is $284.65 less than the agreed upon estimate. In regards to the plumbing, in our estimate we only included remove/reset of toilet as her tile person was supposed to be removing and resetting the shower hardware. During the job, it was determined that her tile person would not perform the remove/reset and we did so under her instruction. We did not charge for this service. We were unaware until this letter, that there were any issues with the shower handle. There was never any mention in any of the emails or correspondence received previously. As previously stated, we are sorry that she is unhappy. However, we do not think that it is our responsibility to refund any more monies. The contract was adjusted $284.65. I do not feel owe for her showerhead as (a) it was not in our estimate and (b) never charged for (c) we were never notified there was an issue previously with it. As we read through their resolution it appears they only want for others not to use us for repairs, we have been in business for the past 24 years and have many happy customers, unfortunately, we cannot make everyone happy. - Sheri Honn, Secretary/Treasurer"
