When their tech, Tom, came out the first time to see why my Viking dishwasher would not cycle all the way, he could not diagnose the problem. He said when it throws a code to let him know. I paid the $119 service call. About 6 weeks later it threw a code. I called 5 or 6 times to talk with him and was told several times he would call me. He never did call me so I ordered the part and set up another service call. When Tom arrived July 12, the first thing I said to him was if it is not the correct part, I can return it. He should have confirmed the part was correct immediately but instead he proceeded to pull the dishwasher out. It took him one hour of trying to figure out how to pull it out. It sounded as if he was demoing the kitchen. As he was trying to pull it out, he damaged the wood trim panels on both sides. Then...he looked up the part and figured it was not the correct part. He said he would come back a 3rd time but it would cost in excess of $500. So...I'm sitting here with a dishwasher that is still broken and they billed me a second time for $166. I sent them an email explaining why I wouldn't pay a second time as my dishwasher still did not work. A month later they billed my credit card the $166 which was unauthorized. I had a disappointing experience with Mr. Appliance of Edina. I scheduled service letting them know my Samsung washer was vibrating and making noise. The technician Phil arrived within the service window and was courteous throughout the visit. I explained to Phil that I heard knocking noises during spin cycle that seemed to come from the area of the water filter. I told Phil that if I held the water filter cap during these events, the noise would stop. I showed him that I had been using a sock to reduce the noises. Phil proceeded to take the back cover off the washer to look around. The back cover was the only thing he removed during the entire service call. We were able to replicate the knocking sounds using the washer’s Rinse + Spin mode, so he knew exactly what the problem was. Phil spent a lot of the time talking to one of his colleagues on the phone about the problem with the washer. After an hour, Phil came up with this assessment (copied directly from the receipt): SAMSUNG WASHER IS 6 YEARS OLD AROUND TIME TO GET A NEW ONE. THERE IS SOMETHING RATTLING WHEN THE DRUM SPINS, COULD BE THE BEARINGS OR TUB STARTING TO BREAK. UNIT STILL PERFORMS ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, BUT IT IS NOISY. ADVISE CUSTOMER THEY CAN STILL USE IT BUT IT IS NEARING THE END OF ITS LIFESPAN. In the end I paid $99 to be told my washer was 6 years old and at the end of its lifespan. He told me it might be the bearings and it would be better to buy a new washer rather than repair this one due to costs. I decided to get a second opinion before buying a new washer by calling in a technician from another company. I told the new technician the same story about the water filter. That technician took the front off the washer and discovered the source of the problem to be a $8 pump cushion that failed. We replaced all three pump cushions holding the water filter pump which solved the problem with the washer. I feel that Mr. Appliance of Edina completely failed at diagnosing my washer. While the technician was on time and courteous, he didn’t correctly diagnose the issue to a $8 part and instead recommended buying a new washer. It is my option that the technician Phil was not an expert in Samsung washers (which they knew about before scheduling) and which led to frequently calls a colleague to diagnose the issue over the phone. I would not recommend Mr. Appliance of Edina for service.

Every place I called that had better ratings was several days out for available service times, decided to give Mr. Appliance a call, and the person that answered my call was extremely friendly and seemed to care about my situation and was able to schedule a same day visit, at the normal diagnostics trip charge or $99. Chris showed up about 15 mins late, but did call before to provide an updated time of arrival. He was extremely friendly and after I explained what troubleshooting I had done, and the symptoms of the problem, he was confident that he knew the problem. He proceeded to disassemble my freezer interior to access a rear panel to expose the evaporator and showed me the problem (leak and no frost). He also explained that it would be an expensive fix, provided me an official quote, and I took his recommendation to not get it fixed but to replace it. I felt he was being very honest and helpful, while explaining all the options that I had and what his experience would recommend. I would not hesitate to call this company for appliance repair/installation in the future! A+

Every one I call would not work on Samsung! Then Gregory, from Mr. Appliance, came over. He identified the problem. Ordered the part. Returned to install and once again I was happy. He was very professional, kind and prompt. I am very impressed with this company.

Issue was easily diagnosed and quoted to repair. Repair was just over $350, which seemed high. When I asked for an itemized receipt, it took a while to get the information. I would probably shop a few vendors on pricing next time, but used this vendor on the premise of the A rating. It was a great experience if you don't mind the price.

Rowley was excellent in providing me an estimate and helping me make a good decision about whether to repair or replace. He patiently walked me through a good decision tree providing me with all the key points to consider. To me this was above and beyond as he didn't push his services at all. Perry the technician who did the repair had to come twice as Whirlpool sent them a defective part. He was friendly and again provided good explanation. I would highly recommend Mr.Appliance as an honest service provider that goes above and beyond. If there was an A+ recommendation, I wouldn't hesitate to give that rating!!!

"I think this review has been posted to the wrong company. Customer is in North Carolina and we only provide service in Minnesota. We have a repeat customer by the same name, but never provided service for him on 4-19-14. For our customer with the same name in Minnesota we have provided service multiple times. May 2013 a Frig, September 2013 a Dryer, May 2014 a Dryer, and May 2014 an oven. We dont believe this is us."

The technician from Mr. Appliance replaced the ignitor in our gas GE oven, which wasn't heating up.  They were able to come out the day after I called and sent an email the night before with the time frame and a photo of the technician.  The tech was very friendly and professional.  Just like their website said, he covered his feet and brought his own rug for the front door.  I received an emailed receipt a few hours later.  Everything seems to be working just fine and I would use their services again.

I called and spoke to a very professional operator who scheduled me for the following day with a 4 hour window.  Gregory, the tech, called me early in the window to tell me when we would be here.  Very clean, very respectful, and he fixed the clothes washer (which, with 4 kids, I cannot live without) and even ran a short load to make sure it went through the cycle appropriately.  I was very impressed and won't hesitate to call them again.

When I called for the appointment, the person took down the model and serial number on my refrigerator so that the service person would be prepared.  The hardest part was waiting three days before he could come.  The repair person quickly diagnosed the problem, got a part from his truck, and made the repair.  After a discount from a coupon I got from Angie's List, the cost was quite reasonable for the quality of the service.

So professional. Brought a rug to set just outside the door to wipe feet on - then put on "slippers" to keep the floor clean in the house. Determined the problem, had the parts to fix the problem and came in under his estimate. We were VERY pleased with company, the technician and the quality of the service. We called the company with the largest number of "A" ratings and was told it would be 3+ days before they could get somebody out to our house so I called Mr. Appliance, which was next with only 3 ratings.  A repair technician came out early the next day.   He was very friendly and professional.  He diagnosed the problem as the pump.  He did not have the right pump but went out and got one and was back within a short time and had it fixed in short order.  He accepted our 15% off Angies coupon with no questions.  We had just returned from out of town and were leaving the next day and needed to wash cloths before we left so promptness was very important to us.  We were very pleased with the service we received and would not hesitate to call on them again.

This was the first time I had used Mr Appliance and I was very impressed with their professionalism and care for my home. When the technician showed up, he layed a floormat down outside of my door to wipe his feet, and then put on little booties to protect my carpet from getting dirty. My daughter (3years old) was home at the time and of course very interested in who this was and what he was doing in our kitchen. He was very patient with her, even though I had a hard time stopping her from asking him 500 questions. :) He went about his work and explained to me that he thought the issue was either the motherboard (bad) or the control panel (good.) He was right, and it was the control panel! He replaced it and I was so ever thankful as you don't realize how much you take for granted, your dishwasher, until it's broken! :) I will recommend and use Mr Appliance again.

We came home, one day, to a floor full of water and learned that our freezer was defrosting on it's own. It would only do it periodically which made it difficult to track the issue, but they did it! (kind of like when your car is making a noise until you pull up into the service center!) It would work fine for a couple days and then stop working again. Mr Appliance was able to, without actaully seeing the issue in action, diagnose what the problem was, and replace the part. It's been working flawlessly since! This was my second time using Mr Appliance and the second time I was impressed and pleased with their service!
